  1. Our 4th string QB had a good day.
  2. Quick question: how tall is Dolegala?
  3. Idk. In a bizarre way, the Argonauts have been the beneficiaries of a campaign of utter indifference from MLSE. They've been able to keep the operations group together because the parent company can't be arsed to look into the day to day or strategic planning of the football team they own... And having been left to their devices, the Argos have basically gone ahead and filled the teams pipeline with elite talent and prospects. Under normal circumstances I'd question whether anyone at MLSE was even aware of the 1.8M commitment they've just made to a CFL player... But even they must've seen it on the news the last 24 hours. It has actually been the lead sports story for an entire news cycle here.
  4. True. That's totally within the realm of possibility.
  5. The 2024 bonus is an attempt at NFL-proofing the deal. ie: unless an NFL team offers guaranteed money, the $250k just for showing up at BMO next year is hard to beat.
  6. I get that someone might want to wait and see before judging this contract. Still early days and all that. But underwhelmed by his play? I don't know what he'd have to do to make you whelmed.
  7. Not for me. I remember too many dodgy calls in the Als favor against us. I agree. Not until he plays a whole year and proves it, he ain't. But... Over the life of the contract, you'd have to say that The Chad likely is going to be better than Zach in 2025 & 2026. Big money, but I get it.
  8. Still a long way to go, but the Argos are up 19% year to date on attendance.
  9. Behave. He has the highest quarterback rating in the league (118.7), best touchdown to interception ratio (2.29), most rushing touchdowns in the league (six), the highest percentage of drives that result in touchdowns (26.5), and percentage of completed passes over 20 yards (53.2).
  10. Likely truth in that. He'd have wanted to have his friends and relations at least recognize the name of the place he was playing.
  11. This still cracks me up. You'd have to think it's because he's from Buffalo... but: BMO Field to the Peace Bridge: 151km Tim Horton's Field to the Peace Bridge: 95km
  12. Likewise, under the present circumstances I'm going into games expecting a win for the Double Blue. But really, this has veered wildly away from the question: So I'll leave it at that because, who am I to say that people shouldn't always expect a win? I'm sure that there were Elks fans at home games for a few years that showed up expecting to go home with a win. Sorry for the thread hijack. It really was an innocent question to try and understand another fan's perspective.
  13. Excellent example. I did not go to the games expecting a win those years. More like I was going to see some hope, some prospect of a team that could pull itself together. If not that season, then next. Hell, some games I went expecting a blowout so bad that I hoped that it could force a change in coaching/QB/management/etc.
  14. That is an impressive distortion of the original question, which was: whether or not a fan expects to win every game. But that didn't let your lack of reading comprehension miss a chance to throw a dart at someone from another tribe. Good for you!
  15. 2013 wasn't that long ago... Some people get spoiled easily.
  16. You never expect a loss? Like, in years where your team was the basement dweller and it's a rebuild project?
  17. You're likely right... but being a Toronto sports fan for this long has made me reflexively "glass-half-full". As for what constitutes a "problem" for us? We have a QB that frankly we can't do without. If The Chad is out, it will be as if the Boatmen have no oars.
  18. Since 1873. Facts.
  19. 10 games in a row will be a tough slog. I won't go so far as to say that we need the 1st round bye... but we need it. Of course I was discussing the Labour Day Classic. Hope your Bombers have a good game on Labour Day too.
  20. Now that the Tabbies have someone competent calling plays they may just be able to do something. And certainly our defence has been leaky on second an long for a few weeks. But we've basically been winning our recent games not by defensive stingyness but by just plain outscoring everyone. Still taking an Argo win.
  21. It just feels like with a win under their belts, and looking at the schedule ahead, the Elks have to be thinking that if they don't get the home Win tonite, they may not get it this year.
  22. Hammered as I may be, I wouldn't have us there.
