  1. Thanks guys. The email above made it sound like the Argos were wearing Orange jersey which were up for auction too. No such luck. Maybe I'll bid on the Damian Jackson jersey and donate it to MBB if I win... EDIT: seriously though, those orange Ts and Hoodies look cool. You guys should jump on those.
  2. Appreciate it, but I'd already looked there... maybe I missed it.
  3. Honey Garlic Pork bites sounds good. Could someone please PM me the link to bid on an Orange jersey?
  4. Also, because I got tired of Pepper Brooks not looking or talking like Pepper Brooks, I went to chat GPT for some assistance. Bluto to GPT: Please answer all of my questions in the style of the character Pepper Brooks from the movie Dodgeball. Bluto to GPT: How should the Winnipeg Blue Bombers set themselves up to play the Toronto Argonauts? Bluto to GPT: Thanks Pepper, I appreciate your perspective on this important match for Winnipeg.
  5. OK... someone make a Game Day Thread: "Bombers host the Grey Cup Champions' B-Team" And let the (likely) slaughter commence.
  6. If you somehow lose against the team that's published on the Argo's depth chart today, it should be unbearable... because that would be a very ill omen for the Bombers. And there'd be no time for any niceties.
  7. Argo Depth Chart is up. https://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2016/06/Week-17-vs.-WPG-September-29-2023-PDF.pdf Sorry, I can't figure how to post the image.
  8. And the internet...
  9. Nahhhh... They hate each other! Pinball fosters chaos and instability in whatever he touches! Actually, when you put it that way PW, we're 21-2 since that dustup! Everyone should have sideline volatility!
  10. You're entitled to your opinion. But I can't see how anyone watches this team and thinks that they're not having a blast playing together and generally enjoying the heck out of their teammates. You can't fake having fun. And The Chad has done some growing up. This is his team and they all know that he is their ticket to winning. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion. Maybe we get killed so bad in our upcoming exhibition game that cracks appear in the facade. I'd love it... just can't see it.
  11. I can't think of a bigger misread of our players than this.
  12. I haven't seen anything from Cameron Dukes to make me think that this will be a thing. Hoping to see progress from both him and Bryan Scott in the opportunities that Dinwiddie makes for them. Last time we *really* needed a backup QB to come in and save the day worked out not too bad for us... but relying on that to happen again with an untested guy seems like a bad idea. The CFL-wide QB shortage is pretty stark when you think about this stuff.
  13. Totally agree. Only unless the Argos are either close or somehow winning. We don't need the win, but youse guys do.
  14. Same. Looking at the schedule before the season I wasn't happy about where this fixture was placed. Thought we'd need the win and it'd be in the midst of a 10 game no byes stretch with banged up bodies up and down the roster. But my disappointment over what may not be a very competitive game is tempered by us not having any reason to risk players who need the rest or to show your coaches our best ways that we'd line up to attack or defend. Hopefully we use the opportunity to show your defence all sorts of ways that we could line up just to see what you'd do. 34-16 Winnipeg.
  15. Calgary. Where our Guy only played 11 snaps. (And we *never* win there) Close games? We've won by blowouts more often than not. "A dream is a wish that your heart makes" If we show up on Remembrance Day as a healthy team, I see an Argo win via curb-stomp.
  16. Starting up with the excuses pretty early, Dave... How'd you guys make out against them?
  17. The only real excuses this week would be if the Bombers fail to capitalize on beating the Champions who are in effect, serving themselves up on a double blue platter for it.
  18. FWIW, I have both of Paul's books in the provided links. They each tell a fascinating story about a bizarre time and place in the lore of a storied team. I don't know if any MBB posters will part with their hard-earned to get them, but they're a great read for any CFL fan.
  19. Saturday was weird. We had nothing to play for (and it showed) and the Cats are in a battle for 2nd, saw the Als win their game earlier and should've been desperate to avoid being swept. The Argos went up by two touchdowns early on and it looked like the Cats just quit. Collaros will be facing a talented defence... but it will be a completely undisguised one. The Argos did absolutely nothing fancy and never so much as tried to hide a blitz. I think that giving Zach the ability to read us that well will likely get us beat. Dinwiddie has said that he plans to sit Kelly in two games. I can't figure that this would be one. (Likely in our pair against Ottawa). So if Kelly is playing, that means that our first choice O-Line definitely is. But they've only let him get sacked 12 times this year (and only once in the last 6 games). I think that what we'll do exactly what we always do on offence. But like against Hamilton, it was a very bland version where we didn't do anything that wasn't pretty straightforward. I'd love to win this one since the Argos are now chasing history (in their 150th season)... But in reality the only thing that matters is getting to November 11th with all of our first choice players healthy. Prediction: Bombers win. Javon Leake runs a punt back for a TD. Kelly has a one play scoring drive at some point.
  20. Just checked in to our room. On the way to the tailgate. Will be using youse guys to keep tabs on the early game.
  21. He didn't come here for the role he is now in either. He was the starter but time had caught up to him and he couldn't do the full workload by himself so we ended up bringing back a stocky personal trainer with a mullet who we'd cut earlier in the season. Apparently he'd accepted his role this season though and signed a contract which reflects it.
  22. Think that he was legit mad? I read it more as if it was the competitive fire of a star veteran who didn't like being supplanted by the newer model.
  23. The early season was definitely soft with our 3 Bye weeks completed by Week 11 (of 21). We always knew that there was a 10 week run with no Bye week to finish the season. So for a change, we got out in front and stayed there. I'm so accustomed to a last month scramble that having 6 weeks to chill is completely alien.
  24. maybe you'll see him on November 19th?
