https://3downnation.com/2024/12/16/2025-grey-cup-odds/ Really-Really-Very Early 2025 Grey Cup Odds. Ridiculous. I got better Odds during Grey Cup week than these guys are offering me 11 months out. -
The Don is a legend around here. And Coach Din (46) is going to pass him (49) and likely Cahill (54) this coming season. Then he only has Pinball (67) and Obie (89). And Dinwiddie has the highest win percentage of them and if he gets one more cup here he'll pass every one of our post WW2 coaches. Remarkable stuff. I'd do the same lookup for O'Shea (and Mass, who I have been very impressed with), but the Wiki for the Bombers coaches only says it goes to the end of the 2022 season. One of you guys should go edit it. EDIT: Pretty sure that O'Shea owns most of your HC records now?

Demean, denigrate and disparage all you like. But being among the greatest head coaches in the history of the most successful and storied Canadian football team after a mere 4 years at the helm is no mean feat. If we win 8 games next year, he'll be tied with Leo Cahill for 3rd most wins.
-
Ryan Dinwiddie is 1 or 2 seasons from being the undisputed greatest Head Coach in Toronto Argonauts history. You could even make the argument now, but adding another 20ish wins basically makes it a moot point. He's only been here 4 years.

I think that is a great deal for the Stamps. Adams at $465k is a very good spend. -

O'Shea was part of the Argos D when Stubler put the FIFO sign up. -
Player Personnel is such a strange sort of square-peg round-hole thing at times. There are times when you cut a player who looks hopeless to the point of not even being able to play football and you wonder why he was even brought in. So he gets cut, another team decides to plug him in and he is a runaway success who goes on to thrive (see: Cameron Judge, Toronto, Calgary)

Are all of Edmonton's coaches at the end of their contracts? The management cap allows you to fire 1 guy and not count their salary against the cap. Every other coach would have their guaranteed contract on the cap. Can they do a big reset? -

I can't put MBT and Fajardo in the same tier as the others. -

Why would he leave Ottawa? Nice director level paycheck, zero ownership expectation of fielding a competitive team... It isn't Saskatoon... -

Maybe $200 with bonuses that bring him back to what he previously made if he plays and performs could do it. I dislike seeing Arbuckle on there. I think (and hope) that RD has him coming back though. Chad is our starter, but it was such a weird break that having a GC winning backup would bring us some peace of mind. Come and take it if you can. EDIT: And you're right. Argos do suck, from the Grey Cup. -

Pretend you're the Als, you've made the decision that Alexander is your future and you'd like Cody to come back as a just in case (and to not end up as a back-up especially in Hamilton or Ottawa where it could burn you), what do you offer him and what would you realistically pay? Freak injuries happen, they may be in dire need of Fajardo if the SHTF. -

Kevin Eiben and Will Fields split the job. I don't know what the deal is with them as far as plans go... but Dinwiddie loves his former Stamps, so this wouldn't shock me. -

I'm not sold on Alexander yet, so I'd guess Maas has to have seen enough to make himself sure. I am sure however, that his profile picture on the Als' site makes him look like the spitting image of the son from TLC's Little Family Big World. -

Why does BC telegraph their QB move so publicly? I know that if they'd have stayed schtum on the subject that likely we'd have all figured it's most likely that they'd keep Rourke and try to deal Adams Jr... and if they can't make a deal they'd have to chop him. But going public about it just basically screams at the 3 or so clubs who may be in the market for Adams that BC for sure isn't keeping both so you can either make an offer at our Vernon Fire Sale or just wait for us to drop him so you can attempt to sign him without giving the Lions anything. Game Theory is not their strong suit. -
Perspective check because some of you are my internet friends and I feel compelled to pull you back from the ledge a little bit: I saw someone recently reference the Bud Grant Dynasty era. To me, that's not a Dynasty because it was 3 in 7. But it is looked upon by many both in and out of Manitoba as the zenith, the true halcyon days of the Bombers within living memory. Fact: if you win next year or the following year, you have equaled or bettered the Bud Grant Bombers.
-
As a player, he is considerably more than merely viable. It's his guaranteed $500k next year that isn't. Neither for you, nor for BC.

Just started watching this episode Zach, at 3 minutes in you're referencing the "horrid mistake" that Dinwiddie made on 3rd and 1. No offence or shade intended here but you're way off base on this one for at least 4 reasons which come easily to mind from our standpoint: 1) We have been garbage at "__ & 1" all season. We have no short yardage player to insert. It's been brutal to the point that we just know that 2nd and 1 for us always ends up as 3rd & 2. It is the biggest blindspot in an otherwise stacked roster with an excellent O-Line... we have zero short yardage to speak of in a league where it is among the most vital things for an offence to have. This is now a 2 season problem. 2) Coming into a game with our backup QB put us in a mindset of getting points on the board no matter what. Anyway and anyhow. Can't risk coming away with zero. I expected Lirim to be kicking from midfield. That was the mindset. 3) The very likely chance of getting stuffed at the goal line gives such a momentum and confidence boost to a defence. No way were we giving you that. 4) We could make an easy kick and take Arbuckle off the field and tell him "Atta Boy Nick! You just marched down the field and put points on the board!" Not so horrid if you look at it through our lens, is it?

Don't be too hard on Walters for that one... He didn't have a reunion with Kurleigh Gittens Jr to dangle in front of the Elks new quarterback. -
In a moneyball sense, you can. The regular season's best performing QB had a deal for $361k after bonuses (which I think he made). And you can add Streveler's money to that to a point, but you still need 2 backups. I'm not saying there aren't other ways, but the business owner in me is trying to look at it from a "If we pay the 37 year old $250k to move on, what could we get for the remainder of what we were going to pay him?" standpoint. I'm not saying that they'd write that cheque, just looking at hypothetical options. Makes me wonder how "guaranteed" the $250k is... like, was it guaranteed the second Collaros put down his pen, or is it more like guaranteed if he hits certain milestones along the way, or maybe if he is still rostered by a particular date?
-
$350k Delta, approximately (assuming you have to eat $250k and were going to pay a total of $600k). Can you adequately replace Zach for $350k?

I thought it was a generally accepted principle that a QB can beat a blitz by throwing to a receiver in the area where the blitz came from. Today I learned that football teams would be successful if receivers caught every ball and QBs never got intercepted. Thanks for the wisdom there, Dave. I guess Zach should've just ate the ball and not thrown to an open man to make a play. Your comments always seem to boil down to a game overview where the opposition doesn't get a say in the matter...
