  1. Are you sure that you just don't want the Ticats because they're softer? Or because you're concerned that The Argonauts will make it 7-0?
  2. Stolen Borrowed from 3downnation: East Final Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts, BMO Field, Sunday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m. ET. At a glance: Toronto has not hosted the Eastern Final since 2017 when they went on to win the Grey Cup The last time Hamilton and Toronto met in the Eastern Final was in 2013 when the Tiger-Cats visited their provincial rivals and won 36-24. Hamilton and Toronto have met in the Eastern Final on eight occasions with each claiming four victories. The Argonauts own a 31-15-1 (.670) home record in the playoffs. Home teams in the Eastern Final are 33-13 (.717) since 1973. The Tiger-Cats will be appearing in the Eastern Final for the sixth time in eight seasons. Hamilton has a 15-31-1 (.337) road record in the playoffs. Toronto claimed the season series 3-1: Week 5: HAM 32 – TOR 19 in the Labour Day Classic Week 6: TOR 17 – HAM 16 in Toronto Week 10: TOR 24 – HAM 23 in Hamilton Week 15: TOR 31 – HAM 12 in Toronto Ryan Dinwiddie will be making his postseason head coaching debut. Orlondo Steinauer won his first two playoff games: in 2019 against Edmonton and in 2021 against Montreal This will be McLeod Bethel-Thompson’s first playoff start. He is 2-3 as a starter against Hamilton. Hamilton’s Jeremiah Masoli will be making his sixth career start in the playoffs and has a 3-2 record. Masoli has a record of 6-3 versus the Argonauts in his career. In four games this season against Hamilton, Kurleigh Gittens Jr. recorded 23 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns. On defence, Shawn Oakman had four sacks. Hamilton’s Tim White notched 318 receiving yards on 16 catches (19.9 yards per catch) and a touchdown against Toronto this season. Defensively, Simoni Lawrence accumulated 21 tackles, a sack and a pick-six.
  3. I remember the 1991 East final at SkyDome in front of 50k fans. 🚀
  4. They said that about the Rider fans in the '17 East final beforehand too. We'll see. Especially in "These Uncertain Times"
  5. To Hamilton to play in the Grey Cup on the 12th, obviously.
  6. Him and the other two. They've been on a crusade to kill the CFL for decades. *************, All of them.
  7. Tangentially related: things must look good for the Argos if Damien Cox is Opining in his column that this may be the last ever game for the Argos... Toronto's legacy media's love affair with the CFL continues!
  8. Because there wasn't a thread yet, because I haven't started a thread in forever, because @Zontar and I need somewhere to weigh in on this. Sunday December 5, 12:30pm local, BMO by-the-lake.. Standings: Argonauts: 9 - 5 Tiger Cats: 8 - 6 Prior meetings: September 6: Argos 19 @ Ticats 32 September 10: Ticats 16 @ Argos 17 October 11: Argos 24 @ Ticats 23 November 12: Ticats 12 @ Argos 31 Betting Lines (as of Tuesday): Argos: -1 Ticats: +1 O/U: 45.5 Weather (as of Tuesday): 1C, light snow, 10km SW wind (off the lake)
  9. All 4 did, tbqh.
  10. Me either, but on their day, Montreal has a RB and a QB who can wake up and raise their games and hurt you. Ticats have less of that fear factor, more holes and have been shaky of late. There's still 60 minutes of football to play and "Anything can happen in the CFL", but not many would argue that these aren't favorable matchups for our respective teams. I don't think either 1st seed will have any excuses if they can't do the business.
  11. I'd say that the big winners of Semi-Final Sunday were Winnipeg and Toronto. Both teams probably get their preferred opponents. And all 4 of the Semifinalists looked bad on the day.
  12. Jeffcoat was the best player on the field and it wasn't close.
  13. IDK. My take was that one half of our O-Line pass blocked ok but were deficient at run block and the others were the opposite. Messy but still Week 1. Not having Poole available sucks and Blake picked up a knock so it doesn't look so hot. But then the Bomber D-Line isn't without some guys on the trainer's table... So maybe between another week of playing together and coming up against you guys at the right time we may squeak it out again... I mean... we did win last time we met 🙃
  14. I laughed because that rhymes with Dutch Oven and sometimes I'm 12.
  15. Double Blue is life Argonauts Pull Together That's our Cup you've got
  16. Not the team that I'd have wanted us to play after an unexpected week 1 win. Too many questions about what this Argo team is for me to have confidence in this one. Can't see past our lines getting beaten enough to change the game too far into the Bomber's favor. Still a football game after a long lapse in football games so who knows... but I picked the Bombers on my betting sheet.
  17. Wait... they were shooters? Missed that bit. Thanks for allowing the thought experiment to play out. Wasn't here to debate or convince an anti-gunner. I know that never gets past the feelings stage. Peace and love, bro.
  18. The ones in red or blue bandanas? Defintitely! The gun murder rate would plummet to an irrelevancy!
  19. I agree. Someone ought to revoke those Chicago gun-permits.
  20. Those darn Urban Chicago white supremacists!
  21. Personally I believe that Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa was a perfectly normal American guy until Drumpf's racism radicalized him.
  22. 1) MLS&E has yet to show even a quantum of the commitment to being successful on a CFL field that they have in any of their other properties. I seriously doubt that if I strolled thru their offices that I'd see any indication of their even owning the world's oldest pro football franchise. 2)I hope you're right. But most new Head Coaches have a successful pedigree at the coordinator level first. Desperately hoping this won't be a harsh lesson about The Peter Principle.
  23. Dang, I wish I still had that T-Shirt...
  24. 3 Downs Larger Field Extra man These are my non-negotiables and I'll treat 'em like The Alamo if necessary.
  25. We're 2 years removed from a trainwreck of a 4-14 season with almost no holdovers from it. I think it's fair to say that nobody has a clue what the Argos actually are.
