  1. Although I'm fond of our "A" shield logo, I don't think it's a prize winner. If the Cats didn't have the wrong colour in their logo, I'd have them as a hands-down winner... I guess I'd take the Stumps as the best of the rest.
  2. Not a Jets fan, then?
  3. which is a shade of...? don't feel bad... at least yellow is the colour which symbolizes courage... oh wait...
  4. No... clearly other fans who could be bothered to vote supported the best looking uni. Obviously their number, added to Argo voters still weren't enough votes. Last Saturday vs the Als wearing All Blue head to foot was the best uni I've ever seen. Royal Blue is a great colour choice but I'd never want yellow on my jersey. Cats and Esks too. edit: Unless the team mascot is in fact yellow (a wasp or a lion... damn the Lions and Cats need to trade colour schemes...)
  5. yelllllllowwwwwww... hard no.
  6. Argos have not merely the best unis in the CFL, but likely the best in pro sports. Bombers won a popularity contest not an aesthetic one.
  7. How is Nicholl's pass blocking going to be? The Argo front 4 have been imperious so far... I see this as a key.
  8. Actually, under certain circumstances, I think that physical and verbal abuse are the way to go... ...just never on a ref during a game.
  9. Interesting. The bookies all seem to have it as -3 Winnipeg. Making the home team a favourite by a field goal at home is sorta the same as saying it's a dead heat to them. I'm taking the points!
  10. Would be saying this even if he weren't a TiCat: Get this punk out of my league. Touch an official like that? 1 strike and you're out.
  11. I didn't take his example to mean that we(the Boatmen) are by any means a consistent team (yet). I took it to mean that the coaching job of switching a godawful team (us, 2nd 2/3rds last season) to a competent one that can compete (us, so far) is simpler than taking a team that looks different every week and addressing the different issues that pop up.
  12. FTFY no... I'm not quite planning the parade route yet...
  13. Sometimes a quick read is better.
  14. I just like how that summary ends... "Bye Hamilton"
  15. After all of those years of watching SJ Green do that to us with literally no ability to stop it, holy crap is it nice to do that back to someone else. Going into this game I had exactly zero idea of what I was going to see. Could've literally been anything and I wouldn't have been surprised. But of all of the possible outcomes, I'd have rated "go out there and win all phases of the game and look stylish on the way to a lopsided win" as the least likely. To be sure: Hamilton was a mess. Could've been a week 1 thing... could've been that they didn't get the team built in the offseason and have deficiencies ... could've been that the Argos are a cut above and make them look bad (wouldn't have considered that a possibility before yesterday, but it's up for discussion now). Better competition on Friday. We'll see how she goes.
  16. Not that 2 wrongs make a right... But let's remember that Foley has twice renegged on agreements to sign with teams and ditched them without notice. On the practical side, I'm ok with this. We're better off with his money spent on a full time player 10 years younger. Chamblin was his coach in Sask... If he didn't want him, then there's no reason not to cut him now. Still early, if he's in shape, he'll find a spot somewhere. Thanks for the memories, Ricky.
  17. It's good, KBF. Hope things are good out Okanagan way. Even though his induction was never in doubt, it's still very nice to see.
  18. On one hand I was sure that Copeland had damned us to another year of purgatory by waiting so long to pull the trigger. But on the other I had hoped that Trestman's name would be enough to make some quality personnel believe in the project. So far it looks not so bad. Popp's turn to come good now.
  19. Hoping that this may be the end of Copeland. He made several tries to get Trestman and was rebuffed and so Tannenbaum goes around him to get Popp who closes the Trestman deal. Meanwhile, Milo and Barks were twisting in the wind and knew it was all happening.
  20. Thanks. Copeland really pooched our offseason the way he handled it though. Difficult to be optimistic when we've been handicapped by the poor timing of this all, but I'll try to remember that Trestman is an excellent coach, Popp had a knack for conjuring good players out of thin air for an extended period of time and that we started 4-2 last season before the team just checked out completely, so perhaps there's more talent than our record showed (there has to be)... presuming enough of it shows up in camp. Either way, our biggest challenge remains convincing people to trek into the city for games. Marketing is pretty much non-existent. Schedule is good though. Likely plenty of empty seats again...
  21. It was 1956. You know why.
  22. Difficult to say... they'd have to be just the right sort of crazy mixed in with a slight masochistic streak.
