don't. this is the dawn of the rebuild that the Bombers should have begun several years ago. the Wade/Kyle/Osh thing needs a year to gain traction and momentum. yeah, i know you've heard that refrain several times over the last 2 decades... and that the emotional stamina required to willingly get on the same roller coaster that has made you nauseous over and over is immense (i am a Leaf fan after all)... but the aggregate of the Bomber's moves since Miller came on board (and put Walters in place, and hired O'Shea and allowed him to have a dozen other coaches) has got to have you looking at the team's trajectory and believing in it. (heck... i do) Bluto, I see this as a team that wins 5-6 but is competitive, Willy establishes himself as a legit starting QB, Gossen and Neufeld become good NI pieces on the OL and we start building a nase. You? yeah, 5-7 sounds right. and i've said elsewhere that you may have to wait for a few of those until the arse end of the schedule when your remaining opponents have already clinched. my hope is that Willy gets at least 14 starts and progresses as the year goes on.

And I hope he squatted behind the CFL merch section in the Bomber store and did a dookie. Why do I hope this? Because it's the internet! i love how the Rider "faithful" have conveniently forgotten that many were hoping for a new QB well into mid season when Sheets went down and Durant looked very ordinary... ah, revisionism... they're so blinkered with their fanboyism that they can't see the plain truth: if other QBs played like Ray did last season (nearly 80% completion and a 126 efficiency) that it would effectively "break" football. they'd have to change rules to try and re-balance the game.

i don't take the Top 50 Players as an actual ranking as i don't believe in the people's scouting or objectivity who make up the list. i try to look at it more as a chance to watch 50 players get talked-up and some of their highlights shown... it's more fun for me that way. besides, any list that doesn't have Ray at #1 is fundamentally flawed and should be viewed at with great skepticism. also, i don't recommend anyone play the "best fans in the league" drinking game this weekend... even during broadcasts not involving the team from the rectangle. you'll be "do or die" level wasted by halftime.

Not certain that any extra familiarity by O'Shea will be a factor since what we do on both sides of the ball is pretty much common knowledge. Our STs were weak in preseason and the Bombers could punish us on field position and force the Argos to play on a long field. You should have a pretty good idea of what you're up against on D... all 3 times i've seen it i kept thinking that if i squinted hard and imagined the players in ugly uniforms, that i'd be looking at the Bomber defence. 4 men rushing upfield and hitting the RB on the way to the QB and generally trying to force a pass early, while trying not to have anyone in single coverage. As for stopping our offence, it's no secret what we'll try to do: the Trestman/Milanovich offence forces you to make choices and then the QB (if given enough time) attacks the spot you didn't choose to defend. If you can stuff our runs with your D-Line and if your blitz is successful (this will be the key right here... our new tailbacks haven't had enough live ammo shot at Ricky to have enough practice in blitz pickup) you can stall us out... but i haven't seen enough of Etch's D stopping anybody on the ground yet to think that this could happen.

i predict lots of back-tracks/admissions of being wrong/denials that they ever spoke against getting Bryant from posters in this thread. had Barker not found a few younger-cheaper guys, i'd have been happy to still have Bryant streaking down our sidelines. he (as of late last season when he came back after rehabbing a persistent injury - which should at least show you that he still has heart and desire to perform) still has speed, hands, moves and veteran savvy to be productive... and a young QB like Willy should be overjoyed at the prospect of having a guy like him added to the team. and when you add to it that he has Osh's trust and that he can drop a dime on our playbook before Thursday night... it should be a no-brainer. and ffs, people that aren't pointing to him flipping off a joke like Kelly as a point in his favour need to check themselves and realise that in 20+ seasons of futiliy, Kelly might have been the low point and you should be lining up to hi-five or bro-fist a guy who told that embarrassment exactly what you all now agree he should have been told on day one of his tenure in 'toba.
