  1. thanks Jpan. i'm waiting for depth charts before picking. watch this space. Thursday Afternoon edit: Jeremiah Johnson (not sure how the carries will get split between him and Steele... but my gut says Johnson will score)
  2. as for Romby, i'm not surprised we let him go. not because he doesn't have "it" anymore, but because we have plenty of guys who can do the job (and RR makes it easy for them to do it). Bryant got hurt early last season and rehabbed on the injured list to come back late in the season for a 2 TD game. you've got to admit that shows some heart.
  3. Evan McCullough and Zo Lawrence could both help the Bombers, imo. i thought Lawrence was a lock to be a key part of our D this season. him being cut either means that he's hurt, we found better or he has regressed. i didn't see any signs of regression... and earlier in camp, he was one of only 2 guys featured in ArgoTV's "meet the secondary" video, so i took that to mean that the team thought he was safe too.
  4. on a scale of zero to ****-yeah!, how much would you like to party with that guy?
  5. Argo roster cut-downs have been treated like top-secret spy stuff of late... seems we never hear them until long after the submission deadlines.
  6. I said it in the offseason, it's the worst time to move west for the Bombers. Man I woulda loved to stay in the east just one more year. All you gotta worry about then is Ray, in the west it's tougher. But I guess this is all part of the pander to Southern Ontario mentality that the CFL is so fond of. quit your complaining and go to whatever division Mr. Braley tells you to.
  7. feelin' fine.
  8. experimental? how? are they going to wear scuba gear? is there going to be a rollergames-style wall of death in front of the goal line?
  9. interesting timing for the hire at the end of camp. maybe Football operations felt that the amount of rookies and level of fundamentals needed to be addressed. strong pro-active move, imo.
  10. Really? How do you come to that conclusion? real world experience with women? Something Bluto knows nothing about. But scarves...now there's his forte. >implying that i know nothing about money grubbing snakes in the grass.

  12. Calgary Saskatchewan BC Edmonton Winnipeg Winnipeg will likely not get much in the way of wins through the first half of the schedule. They will compete hard and be close most of the time (a few blowouts are likely but Osh's values and ethics will keep them fighting). As the season goes on, the coaches and players will get better and Willy (if they can keep him relatively clean and he gets at least 13 starts) will progress to the point where your team is a threat to steal wins and will finish with 3 games against teams who have locked up their playoff positions so the Bombers have a chance to end the season on a roll. By October, i predict you'll all feel good about this version of the Bomber's overhaul and be looking forward to 2015 for a playoff run.
  13. i've been expecting that for you guys. both Ejiro Kuale and Zander Robinson (who was a DLine guy) have played FB for us the last few years. Zander is permanently there now.
  14. Vega. It's Cornish, Lulay, Durie, Vega, Bulcke, Brouillette and Reilly.
  15. would be the best 55 minutes of radio ever.
  16. that's a bit unfair to Messam, who was pretty good (albeit unspectacular) last season in spot duty.
  17. And don't complain when Bilikudi and Muamba come back to Canada this year either. Then we go from suck to blow on the ratio. i'm pretty sure you retain the rights to one of those guys... but not so sure about the other. yeah but the other guy knows that Kyle Walters is willing to back a dump truck full of money up to his house pretty sure his house is in Toronto...
  18. it's fun to debate over backup QBs... and i imagine that you're all doing as much of it as you are because over the last several seasons there has been reason to argue and navel-gaze over who ought to be next in line to be under centre... and yeah, with the protection (or lack of it) that your current number 1 is likely to get (or not), perhaps this is a debate that's well worth having... ...but really, your best QB is your #1, he also is your best chance to win games and he may have the best potential upside out of all of them. so with that settled, i think that the run-defence (or lack of it), the sure-to-be-an-issue ratio problems and the continuing sorry state of affairs that the WBBFC OLine has been will be the topics that make up the threads and pages of MBB this season. hoping for good things for the Bombers so that O'Shea and Walters can continue to develop so that they're ready to take over for Scott and Jim in a few years.

  20. Robert Gill and Kiante Tripp are both blows to the Argos. Both have been hurt. Not sure when/how Tripp got hurt, but he didn't play against you guys and he was supposed to be one of the few pieces on the DLine that we knew we'd have for this season. Must be pretty bad for us to cut him. Gill and his speed would've been fun, but he got hurt in the exhibition game when Dunn got flagged for hitting him dirty. I hate cutting promising receivers who get hurt in camp... (see Edwards, Terrence, 2005) Wondering how bad either of these guys' injuries are... maybe they'll stick around town and rehab a bit... As for Messam, I imagine that either his knee, his contract or both got him cut. If his knee is sound and he offers a hometown discount, it would be interesting to see a NI (er... National)1-2 punch of Coombs and Messam.
  21. simple: break up the wedding. you'll be doing your friend a favour and you get to watch the game. a win-win, tbqh.
  22. my Facebook status for the next 24 hours... we'll see how many "friends" vanish off my list...
  23. Fire away. We frickin' deserve it.
  24. Serious question... how many runningbacks can actually carve out long careers? Seems to me that if you get 3 years out of a runningback you're ahead of the game already and it doesn't much matter about their size. They are simply put the easiest position to recruit players for because there's so damned many of them kicking around. All I really care about from that position is who is the best guy? Size be damned put the best player there and worry about longevity in the future. If the guy can't last more than a couple seasons just go down to the pound and pick up a new running back. very true. but then, having one that is more likely to break on you mid-season can have dire consequences. (like Kack did to us last year then came back from injury and broke again finishing his career and taking away our running attack and chance to ice our lead in the 2nd half of the EDF).
  25. i liked Cotton. but i would take Lawless' opinion of him being too small under advisement. some smaller backs have great careers (Pinball, ChuckBob)... others have great starts but their bodies just can't hold up to the pounding (Kack).
