There was no subterfuge in having Harris in the game. he's a different type than Collaros (pocket passer like Ray) and has a different package. Harris and Collaros were co #2 QBs. Harris is a top prospect as well and was ahead of Collaros on the DC all last season (and looked very good against Hamilton when they were fighting for their lives against him).

you're right... i was (obviously) going to take the Argos' starting TB (Steele), but i neglected to make it official (fighting Tuesday rush hour to get to the concrete pimple) even though i tipped my pick before the weekend. so what happens if i don't have an official pick registered? is that a strike?

Hey Bluto, Who Were You Carrying On Your Shoulders?

just got home. in fairness, i would've been home 13 minutes earlier most nights because the train usually runs on time. but it's 5 to 1. train was full f Argo fans... some have another stop or two to go. please remember this next time someone says that Toronto doesn't have hardcore CFL fans. -

...Annnnd just getting to my car now. By this point most of the 905'ers (where most Argo fans live) are getting home. I'll be another 10 minutes... But likely I'm stopping for a slice on the way. 12:25am here. -

After midnight now... Train still has 3 stops before I get to my car, then 10-15 minutes (depending on lights). -

Between Eglinton and Rouge Hill now. My sled is at Whitby. Definitely cancelling my morning appointments. -

This insanity has been SOP for years. And Rider fans were shocked that they only drew 18k to our barn (horrors!). As of right now I'm between Danforth and Scarborough station on a delayed Go Train and not likely to be home until well after midnight... But yeah... TO fans avoid going to Argo games because the don't like football... -

He wears a foam argo-shield-guy (like our logo from 2004). That's Fphnebitz. Future PM of Canada. Shocked that we got a win. I'm STILL at Union Station waiting for my delayed train home... I don't know how lameass the attendance was tonight, but when you consider that it's 11:30 and I'm still nowhere near home, please be kind. -
when you get the entire "behind the scenes" story on the exodus... you'll have a difficult time with that one too.

maintain the quality of the site... ...the site who's quality was so high that it inspired a mass exodus to MBB...

it's more of a community here period. the other place was just a bulletin board. posters came here in an attempt to make something better. having a shared purpose helps make it a community. then you also have the Chatroom for games. this is way better than a gameday thread, imo. you're actually watching the games realtime with the other posters. it's the best sort of CFL online bonding. the camaraderie and esprit de corps is doing well here... and i think that if anyone stepped over the line he'd get blasted from all sides. signal-to-noise ratio is key. over the years on OB, there were less than 10 posters who's football-opinions i really enjoyed and looked for. and then... there was a lot of static all around them. (this is the main reason that RF can be so unreadable... they do have quite a few decent posters, but sifting through the crap is just too tedious... it's also why i enjoy AF). here on MBB, it has been distilled. almost all of the good posters in the Bomber community make this their online home now. some do so exclusively. and having more good football opinions helps the other posters (and noobs) to up their game. 13th man... CFL zone... they're graveyards now. OB will stick around for as long as Colin keeps the lights on... but it's already on the Green Mile.

Buchko, Mack Afraid To Answer The Bell?
bluto replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
it doesn't imply that at all. and even if it did (it doesn't) that doesn't excuse Mack from ducking every bit of adversity HIS team encounters (and there has been plenty of it... and i can't recall him owning up even once). -
you guys have seen a coach or manager get fired and a replacement named within a day or two during a season before, right? do you reckon that the new guy wasn't contacted until the former coach/manager was canned? you are aware that organizations recruit their next guy ahead of firing a current one, right?

Berry may be an OC or HC soon... he may not want to leave where he is.
-
i'd rather have Burris/Lefevour or a duo of Reilly/Nichols going forward than Goltz/Hall.
-
it is a strategy that has worked very well for some teams.
-
or alternatively... you aren't understanding that you can hire your man on the sly (either officially or not) and announce him later... but in the meantime you pursue your best interests under his arms-length supervision. but you're right... perhaps playing by the rules and complaining that you can't hire anybody and creating excuses for why you can't succeed while everyone else can is the way to go.

i believe that if Ottawa drafts a QB from a team, that team will be able to protect an additional 2 imports and non-imports. so in some ways... a team with lots of assets to protect would actually benefit from exposing a QB to them... provided of course that they were secure at QB otherwise.
-
To me, this is where a GM of a team that needs to get better at QB should have someone out there scouting the heck out of all of the Tate, Nicholls, Willys, Collaros, Harris, Portis, types and any other backup with promise. I've got nothing against Goltz, but imo, you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket unless you know that basket is of GC quality. Desjardins will draft a QB. They likely won't draft 2 as that would allow 2 teams to protect extra players... but drafting 1 only takes a couple of players (two addtional imports and non-imports) from just that 1 team off of the board. The other Redblacks QBs will likely come via free agency. This is also why waiting until the end of the season to fire a GM in this of all years could be a grave error. This is a rare opportunity to have teams that do not want to surrender an asset for nothing trade away a prized asset. (as well as having the man in place now who can secure the team's NI future by extending Muamba and JE).

because he is Mack's superior. and if Mack gets canned... Garth will be the guy to pink-slip him. obvs.
