  1. Absolutely true. We still used 6 draft picks over the last 2 years to fill that spot.
  2. Fixed it for you.
  3. That changes things.
  4. You're right. I don't like it on principle. I don't see where we have the room for 2 or 3 or 4 new NI receivers. Demski and Coates are the pencilled in starters. Woli's got the inside track as the first backup. That leaves one more NI receiver spot for our new NI receivers who are in competition with the guys we already have. If we keep them all, our PR will be full of receivers. Add in that fact that we haven't had any success in drafting receivers at least since Walters came to Winnipeg, and I don't see this ending well. Maybe we want them to fight it out among themselves so we don't have to pay all of this year draft picks for very long.
  5. I ignore that question because it's simply a chance to change the argument from drafting 2 receivers with our first 2 picks to why this or that guy isn't as good as our choices. You think we have room for 2 or 3 more NI receivers this year?
  6. I wasn't negative about the first receiver. I became negative about 2 with the top 2 picks. Imagine having a different opinion than the Bombers and then having to watch the cheerleaders around here complain about it. We've now got 8 NI receivers, only 2 of which have even a little bit of CFL experience. Well 3 if you include Wolo's catch. LOL
  7. I don't mind 1. I don't like 2, especially with our first 2 picks. Not really hard to comprehend.
  8. Our Canuck receivers now include Demski (Good when he's healthy, but not healthy often enough and very expensive), Coates (1 good game), Blazko, Henry, Thera-Plamondon, Wolitarsky (1 catch career), Simonise and Petermann for 2 starting spots, 2 backups and a PR spot.
  9. 2 receivers? Really? What a waste.
  10. Knevel went to BC.
  11. Simonise was likely the BPA. High upside. I like his his size and the fact that he's got a bit of NFL experience. I don't like that he hasn't played a lot of football lately, his drug tests, or his performance at the combine. A swing for the fences in the 2nd round picking a guy that wouldn't exactly be called an O'Shea or Walters kind of player. Will be interesting to see how he makes the conversion to the CFL.
  12. I never said that I knew anything that was going on behind the scenes. Just cuz you keep pretending that it's true doesn't make it true. One might even call that an inane opinion masquerading as a fact. Let's try this another way... You are obviously saying that you do have inside information and that you do know the cap situation, so tell me all about it. Yah, I know you never said it, nor do you mean it, but if I keep saying it often enough it will become the truth.
  13. You're obviously not reading more than the first sentence of my post then re-stating your stupid idea again. If you want to be a cheerleader, you might as well pick up the pompoms, put on the short skirt, and learn the dance routines, cuz your current routine has gotten really old.
  14. I don't have any inside knowledge and I'm not pretending to either. The story the Bombers floated was that Muamba and Westerman are too expensive. If we have a bunch of SMS space, it wouldn't matter and either would have been upgrades over the guys we kept or brought in. The SMS was brought up when we decided that we didn't need to keep Bond and Heath, cuz those guys wanted to be paid. Part of the story that Walters told at his press conference was 'fitting' draft picks in under the SMS. Twitter folks have made several references to the Bombers not having much SMS room. Walters talked about how much 2 first rounders would have cost last year after he picked Gray who was going to the NFL. We picked up a lot of salary with Durant, Bowman, Fenner and the rest of the BC cuts. Certainly more than we got rid of with Bond, Heath, Westerman, Hurl and Denmark. BTW: Just cuz I don't love love love everything the Bombers do, doesn't mean that I hate 9 out of 10 things. For examples, I like that we didn't pay Westerman 240K, but hate that we didn't pony up 185K for Muamba. I think Bowman and Fenner are great additions, but hate that we paid a bunch of money for Durant who has been washed up for years. I like that we signed Demski, but hate that we overpaid him. I hate that we kept Richie Hall as DC.
  15. Last year we had 2 first rounders, but didn't have the money for some reason to sign both, so we signed a guy with an NFL shot and let them train him. This year, we don't have enough money for some reason to sign any first round picks, so we trade ours away. Next year, we'll have 2 first rounders again. It's almost laughable to suggest that we will suddenly find the money to sign both of them.
  16. Nope, but I'll bet we had most of the same top 11 as everyone else.
  17. As it stands right now... Every other team gets to pick a player before we do. BC picks 2 and Hamilton picks 3 before we pick. Most, if not all, of the top 10 players are gone before we pick. It's good for us cuz we didn't want any of them and we'll have 2 1st rounders next year.
  18. I saw that too, but which of the import D lineman do you take off of the AR if you put Bond back in last year after Westerman went down?
  19. We did. Which import would you have taken off of the D line?
  20. How and where would we have adjusted? Which NI would you start instead of Neuf? In other words... who was a better choice than Neuf for the last 6 games?
  21. Didn't that have something to do with Westerman getting hurt and us adjusting the ratio?
  22. Holy overreach Batman! Hopefully the dumbest thing I read today. No, I wasn't suggesting that they play 13. No, not playing isn't the new injured. No, that's not what I said at all. Go back and read it slowly this time. Just so you don't have to, I'll restate it again... Assuming that Neuf will be able to play 18 games this season without getting injured is a poor assumption, because (Read this part slowly) He's never done it in his 7 CFL seasons before this one. Just cuz you brought it up... They played Bond because he's way better than a healthy Neuf. Playing Neuf helps our ratio, but it doesn't make our O line better. In fact, it makes it worse if you believe the coaches who started Bond in front of Neuf last year and I do. Simply getting rid of Neuf would mean that we'd have the money to keep Westerman or bring in Muamba (Either would help our ratio even more than Neuf IMO). That doesn't even take into account that if Couture is really ready to start like and some folks around here believe he is, we'd be way better from a starting NI standpoint as we'd have 8.
  23. Maybe this is the year that Neufeld actually plays and doesn't get injured. IIRC it would be the first time in his 7 going on 8 years in the league that's happened, so history isn't on his side. BTW: Playing 6 games isn't anywhere near playing the full 18 + Pre-Season + Playoffs.
  24. ALL TEAMS UNDER CFL SALARY CAP IN 2017 - https://www.cfl.ca/2018/04/20/teams-cfl-salary-cap-2017/ Didn't everyone tell me that the Riders couldn't possibly be under the cap this year?
  25. It's like basketball. All offense. Went a couple of times and couldn't stand it.
