  1. To be fair everything hasn't gone Dickenson's way. From BlueInCGY on that other site:
  2. So what? Milanovich is making the same error as O'Shea. Doesn't make either of the right.
  3. Of course it's conjecture. What else could it be? The idea that Dickenson would have made any of the same roster decisions that O'Shea did is also conjecture as is the idea that he'd be saddled with Willy. Maybe Tate would have followed his OC to Winnipeg. I'm not suggesting that Dickenson could bring over Calgary's roster depth. I am suggesting that he'd make different decisions which could have given us better results. I'm also suggesting that he wouldn't have made anywhere near as many rookie mistakes, because he'd made very few of the this year.
  4. Dickenson as our HC instead of O'Shea? As an OC and ex QB, I doubt he'd have chosen Willy and anointed him as the starter as the first presser. If he'd got Willy, I doubt he'd have kept him in games he was obviously not producing and getting beaten up. I doubt our O line would have looked as bad under Dickenson's offense. He's managed tons of O line changes in Calgary including using D lineman on the O line and the offense kept producing. We wouldn't have had to put up with 2 years of Bellefeuille, which would likely have resulted in more wins. I'm sure he wouldn't have chosen Etcheverry as the DC, which would have likely resulted in more wins.
  5. We all want to believe that that last 10 weeks are where we will be going forward, but there are no guarantees. This could be the start of a bunch of years where we make the playoffs and compete for the Grey Cup or it could be a blip and we go back to mediocre or just plain bad. If O'Shea and Walters had 2 good years vs 1 bad, then sure extend them for 3 years, but it's the other way around. 4 or 5 years for people who haven't proven they can even repeat making the playoffs is a bigger risk than paying a QB big bucks before they proved they could do the job consistently because we have to pay out the GM and HC contracts no matter if they do good or bad they do.
  6. I doubt it's the standard for a coach with 2 out of 3 losing years.
  7. How does giving Willy a stupidly big contract he didn't deserve = getting a bunch for him in a trade?
  8. You also thought that Willy's big extension was a great idea.
  9. Typical Bombers. Reminds me of the Willy situation. He showed some talent and the Bombers rewarded him with a huge long term contract. O'Shea finally shows something after 2 years of almost complete failure and they want to give him a 3 or 4 year deal. How bout they give him 2 years and we see if he even gets a 2nd winning season before we go all out with a long term contract? I don't like the idea of 5 years for Walters either. I'd rather see a 2 year extension. Tons can change in a couple of years and I'd rather we didn't have to pay Walters out if he doesn't maintain this years level.
  10. The last 20 years show that it won't be always the WEST or always the EAST. One division would, however, give us a better chance of the 2 BEST teams in the GC.
  11. I'm for single division. The best teams get the bye. The second best teams get a playoff spot. Neither of those are guaranteed under the current system. The Grey Cup has a higher probability of the 2 best teams in the league meeting when you don't guarantee that one is from the east and the other from the west.
  12. I'd take Carter next year (No one should be taking him this year). Yah I know he's a head case and may be a bad team mate, but talent trumps everything else for me and he's one of the most talented receivers in the league. Folks around here would start loving him as soon as they hear Nichols to Carter for a TD over and over.
  13. They have a point. Leggett's first INT was the easiest one he'll ever get. Thrown to a spot by a RB, after the receiver fell. The only Lion in the picture was getting up from the ground. That one's a giveaway more than a takeaway. The last fumble wasn't caused by the Bombers. It was picked up by the Bombers, but it was Lion on Lion action that caused the fumble. Not sure about the 3rd one... could have been the Heath INT on the bad throw by Jennings or the Fogg INT on a bad throw by Jennings (Doubt it's this one as the bad throw was caused by Bomber pressure).
  14. As much as i hate the mic'd up games, you can't just refuse to wear them. Fine seems about right to me.
  15. Just more YABD (Yards After Beat Down)
  16. Turkey day games for sure. Both blowouts. Neither eastern team are even in the games. We're guaranteed a playoff spot now.
  17. Ticats are loading up for the playoffs.
  18. All turn overs are automatically reviewed.
  19. We aren't long overdue for a break. It's the second time in 6 weeks that we've won on a disputed call in the last minute.
  20. The official reason is that there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call, not that the whistle had blown the ball dead.
  21. 3 stars: Leggett - A great Pick, a great run back and a game saving tackle Dressler - 3rd down gamble and played the role of the punter in the endzone to almost drain the clock Fogg - All over the field on D and got a great return to get us out of trouble Happy Honker: Kohlert - A couple of good catches, got open deep and a TD pass.
  22. I believe it was a fumble and that we were really lucky that it wasn't called that way. I think that Arceneux caught the ball, got 1 foot down, but didn't survive contact with the ground so that one shouldn't have been a catch. IMO, there were also 2 offsides that weren't called. One of them, would have given BC a first down to keep their drive alive. All in all, one of the worst reffed games of the season. At least we won.
  23. At 4 wins, they've now beaten Kyle Walters first season as GM. One more win and they tie our 2015 record.
  24. I have no issue with what is and isn't on the list. The list was agreed upon by the CFL and the CFLPA. My very limited understanding is that there is a PED and a Non-PED version of this particular tested drug. They likely can't tell which one was in his system at the time of the test, so they just ban it completely. I personally don't care what recreational drugs anyone takes and I don't have any issues with the police enforcing any laws regarding illegal drugs either. It's a choice. Take illegal drugs and you run a chance that you could be charged (or in this case suspended). Don't like the law, try to get it changed. Personally, I'd like to see most soft drugs legalized and taxed to the hilt. Sure, it makes the government the dealers, but it also guarantees the quality, adds tax money that doesn't come out of my pocket and eats into drug dealer profit margins. All of which are good things IMO.
