Ticats are loading up for the playoffs. -

We aren't long overdue for a break. It's the second time in 6 weeks that we've won on a disputed call in the last minute.
-
The official reason is that there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call, not that the whistle had blown the ball dead.
-
3 stars: Leggett - A great Pick, a great run back and a game saving tackle Dressler - 3rd down gamble and played the role of the punter in the endzone to almost drain the clock Fogg - All over the field on D and got a great return to get us out of trouble Happy Honker: Kohlert - A couple of good catches, got open deep and a TD pass.
-
I believe it was a fumble and that we were really lucky that it wasn't called that way. I think that Arceneux caught the ball, got 1 foot down, but didn't survive contact with the ground so that one shouldn't have been a catch. IMO, there were also 2 offsides that weren't called. One of them, would have given BC a first down to keep their drive alive. All in all, one of the worst reffed games of the season. At least we won.

At 4 wins, they've now beaten Kyle Walters first season as GM. One more win and they tie our 2015 record.

I have no issue with what is and isn't on the list. The list was agreed upon by the CFL and the CFLPA. My very limited understanding is that there is a PED and a Non-PED version of this particular tested drug. They likely can't tell which one was in his system at the time of the test, so they just ban it completely. I personally don't care what recreational drugs anyone takes and I don't have any issues with the police enforcing any laws regarding illegal drugs either. It's a choice. Take illegal drugs and you run a chance that you could be charged (or in this case suspended). Don't like the law, try to get it changed. Personally, I'd like to see most soft drugs legalized and taxed to the hilt. Sure, it makes the government the dealers, but it also guarantees the quality, adds tax money that doesn't come out of my pocket and eats into drug dealer profit margins. All of which are good things IMO.

If Johnson took a legal drug or even an illegal drug that wasn't on the list, he'd have been OK. That not what he did, so it's not much of an argument IMO.

Both teams defenses are suspect. BC has the better offense and tops the league in rushing. We are 5th against the run, so the cool weather may play into their strength. BC has the highest punt and punt return averages. We have the best average against punt returns and we beat them in FG %. BC's number 1 in penalties taken. We are 7th. BC's only given the ball away 22 times (We're @ 21 having played one less game). We lead the league in takeaways @ 45 for a +24 (BC's @ -1). Home field hasn't been much of an advantage for us. A BC win means they get a playoff spot and likely 2nd in the West. A Bomber win means we keep our 2nd hopes alive. Both the Argos and the Als need to lose for us to get a playoff spot this weekend. I can hardly wait for the game to start. Should be a playoff atmosphere.

Johnson made the mistake, not the CFL or the CFLPA. He knew, or should have known, that he was taking a banned drug. He got caught and got suspended exactly like the rules said he would. Nothing to look at here folks. Just another athlete who thinks the rules don't apply to them.

What a great 4th quarter! Redblacks go away from what worked in the 4th, then miss a FG in OT for the loss. Riders win cuz 5 turnovers. Should have won by more, but had to settle for FG's instead of TD's. Sound familiar?

Excellent news. Great week for the Bombers offense. Gurley's the big bodied receiver PLAP's offense needed. Harris and McDuffie look to be back. Back to back with BC doesn't look quite as bad as it did last week.

Bombers may pass on Argos' castoffs A few tall, physical receivers who used to play for the Argos are looking for jobs, and there are those who believe a big play pass catcher is what the Bombers offence could use right now. Head coach Mike O'Shea didn't directly answer the question when asked if the Bombers had any interest in Tori Gurley, Vidal Hazelton or Kevin Elliott – “I'm sure Kyle and his department are combing through the film and taking a look” – but he did say they're not needed. - http://www.winnipegsun.com/2016/10/04/harris-has-been-waiting-for-this-one-for-bombers -
Quite frankly, I think Milanovich has lost it. First he chooses Ray over Collaros and then Harris. Then he talks up Willy before trading for him, which drives up the price he has to pay. Then he over pays big time in draft picks, players and takes on a huge contract for a backup reclamation project QB. Then he fires 3 of his best receivers. Then he says that the Argos are a better team because of it. Oh yah! Almost forgot that his team is most likely not going to make the playoffs this year.

Darn. I was hoping when I signed on today that I'd be reading about us signing Gurley. -
In Case You Missed It - Anonymous Thoughts...

I'm not taking shots at our QB. QB rating has nothing to do with the way the defense played. Nichols played 2 really bad first half's followed by really good second half's. That's what I'm referring to as inconsistency. Harris over the last 3 games: 68% passing, 4 TD's, 2 Int's, Passing Yards 1048 (Nichols: 849). Both Ottawa and Winnipeg won 1 of the last 3 games, so the teams recent performances are about the same. Historically, Harris has been way better than Nichols. Our 1.5 more wins, have more to do with turnovers than QB play. -

I'm not sure how they came up with these rankings. How is Nichols, who has been inconsistent for 3 weeks, ahead of Harris who threw for 485 yards with a 75% completion rate last week? -
I'd take Gurley. 6'4", 230Lbs, 15 TD's in the last 2 years, 14.1 yard average catch tells me he's the big play big receiver we've been looking for.
-
Willy didn't look any different in Argo blue and white than he did in Winnipeg blue and gold. Overthrow, under throw, behind, too far ahead then a couple of great accurate throws to make you think that he's better than he is. Repeat until the game ends. Not sure what Milanovich sees in him, but really glad he was willing to give us so much to get Willy.

Or, to put it another way.... Lose to good teams. Win against bad teams and back QB's. Lose to good teams. The Bombers this year are better than Regina/Montreal and better than Toronto without Ray. We are also better than the last 4 years of Bomber teams.
-
That's O'Shea's job.
-
More likely it's that we are playing better teams now than we did during the 7 game streak. Beating Calgary or even Edmonton is way harder than beating Regina, Toronto or Montreal.
