My Jersey's have my name and the #30 on them. Players change teams way to often these days to put one of their names and numbers.

I watch the NFL after the CFL season is over. Better players do some phenomenal things, but I'd still rather watch the CFL game. I know lots of folks who'd rather watch the NFL than the CFL so I totally get why the CFL doesn't want to be in direct competition with them.

No surprises. Our DI RB needs to be a RB/Returner and we weren't going to give a starting salary to a back RB. Everyone's been waiting for Peach to be cut for a while now.

I'm one of those people. I couldn't care less where a player is from. I just care that they can help us win.

Sure, but it's easier to replace a player who plays a position where more than one of them on the field. There are several receivers, DB's, OL etc. There's only 1 RB and no... I don't think the FB is another RB in the CFL. You can back up multiple players with a single guy in most cases. You can't do that with the RB.

Easy, but a huge drop off in talent. You also have to have an import RB around to put in who'd have to be a DI at the very least or else you'd have to replace the NI RB with the FB or go to a 6 receiver set for the rest of the game.

When Wally's done with a player they are usually done period. Every now and then, they have a couple more seasons in them but you won't become a good GM betting against Buono. Harris has been a bit of a flake. One game last year he didn't even shower or take off his equipment after a game he just left the stadium because the Lions didn't give him the ball often enough for his liking. He said something like 'Why should I shower when I didn't break a sweat?'. Wally and Harris had a couple of short spats last year about playing time , number of carries and lack of contract negotiations so it doesn't surprise me at all that Harris didn't get a contract offer from BC.

I never expected Shell was coming back.

I guess this means we don't re-sign Washington.

I hope we go after Wattman or Mitchell as the 6th OL/replacement for Neufeld when he gets hurt and use our top pick for a OL. 3 NI's isn't enough especially with Neufeld being one of them. I'd love to see Capicciotti or Laurent in Bomber Blue but I suspect the Bombers won't do that, preferring instead to spend our FA $ on Medlock and Harris.

I thought Leggett played better than Randle at OLB. I did see a drop off at the safety spot when Leggett moved closer to the LOS. I'm wondering if Adams can play DB so we can move Randle back to corner or if Randle can play DB for that matter.

If you have an offense like Calgary's where you have a great chance at making the 2 pointer or if you look at the league wide stats that say go for 2 more often then sure... go for two. If you're just going for 2 because you don't trust your kicker to make the single, then it's time to replace the kicker and that's what the Bombers eventually did. The conversation shouldn't be about "Poor Lirim" who has problems making his kicks. It should be about "Poor Bombers" getting shafted because their kicker can't even make converts on a consistent basis.

You don't go for 2 because your kicker can't make converts. You're making excuses for Lirim. Kickers can't have mental block. They have to be able to perform when they are called upon.

I can only imagine the wailing and general gnashing of teeth if it turns out that the jersey Dressler's holding up turns out to be our new 'redesigned' Adidas jersey.

The post made sense until the last paragraph. It's 50-50 at best if he gets his stroke back or not. If we bring in kickers who suck, that's on the scouts, GM and coaching staff. Keeping a guy because of what he did 2 years ago in hope that he gets it back is a great way to continue to lose in this league. Lirim didn't take our offer last year betting that he'd have a great sophomore year which would give him an NFL shot or at least a bigger paycheck this year and he lost. He'll get more chances because of his passport and because of his first year's stats in the league. Whether that's with Winnipeg or not remains to be seen.

I don't. That's why I'd bring him back to compete if he'll take a cheap base plus incentives offer IF we can't sign Medlock.

I honestly think that some folks would rather have their favorite players on the team than win. How can anyone simply ignore how badly Lirim played last year?

Medlock > Lirim by a wide margin. He'd be my #1 choice, but if we don't get Medlock then I'd make a low offer to Lirim with bonuses (I know Walters doesn't like them but in this case he'd have to protect the team). He's got a good leg and proved he can play in season 1. He stunk the joint out, cost us games and lost his starting job in season 2. If and it's a big if, he could get back to season 1 form he'd be a great story this year. Otherwise we could always cut him at TC for very little investment.

He may or may not have any offers on the table and no one's saying it's Walters fault or that Lirim can do no wrong.

Poor performance will always be used in bargaining. You simply don't pay those who performed badly the same as those who were average or great. If we sign Lirim, it will be at a bargain basement price with incentives.

Lirim was pretty much useless last year and lost his job because of it. That being said, I'd bring him back at the right price to compete for the job again this year because of his birth certificate and his strong leg especially if we don't land Medlock (Import).

Now we can say that we had the best offer. Good signing. Great price for Dressler IMO. No need to keep Moore on the team anymore. Might as well cut him today.

The Bombers have a 'firm' offer on the table rumoured to be $170K. We have no idea if it's the best offer or not. The other rumoured team in the running is Calgary who have the advantage of very likely being in the playoffs and making a run which equals more money for Dressler. We don't know what their 'offer' is or if it's actually in a contract or just verbal at this point. Dressler's going to take a huge drop in pay no matter who he signs with. $170K CAD is approx equal to $120K US which is just over half of what he was making. There's no downside to him waiting to see if anyone else wants to bid for his services. I doubt either Wpg or Cgy will drop out and there may be other interested teams who didn't think they could get him at around the $170K mark.
