  1. We don't need to sign anyone as QB unless we can find an upgrade out there. Our PR QB just becomes our #3 QB. If we really want another QB I'd sign Smith because he's the best available guy IMO. In fact, I'd probably sign him, teach him the offense then get rid of Brohm before the vet cutdown day.
  2. Pull Willy for the 4th quarter sure, but pull him in the 3rd? No coach is going to do that.
  3. The press release says '6 to 8 weeks is the earliest recovery time'. I've got a sinking feeling he's gone for the season.
  4. The ghost of Rocky Butler disagrees with you. What the heck does Rocky Butler have to do with Drew Willy or Marve or Brohm?
  5. Kinda what I expected, but I hoped I was wrong. Sucks for us and for Willy.
  6. I'd like to see what Marve brings to the table, but I also believe No Willy = No Win.
  7. If we'd play them even after the 21 points off of mistakes, then I'd say we played pretty well except for the first 7 minutes, but they beat us 17-8 after that and they shut it down at the half.
  8. I'm not a Brohm fan at all. I was somewhat surprised that we re-signed him in the off season. I am a Marve fan and I hope to see him start this week, but I know that he's in tough because he hasn't been getting 2nd string reps and we've only got 1 practise this week. That's not enough time to make many changes to the offense to take advantage of Marve's strengths.
  9. We didn't make a game of it. We scored 8 freaking points. We didn't take advantage of the 2 picks, one of which was a Hamilton receivers fault for knocking the ball up in the air. Hamilton sat back, let us complete underneath, stopped blitzing on most plays because they knew the only thing that could hurt them was us completing a bunch of deep balls. Hamilton's offense, after the two picks, played it very safe. They didn't throw the ball unless the receiver was wide open and took some sacks that they wouldn't have taken if the game was on the line. Hamilton was up 7 zip with zero TOP. They were up 14 zip with 1 play on the TOP clock. They scored enough points to win before the 5 minutes were gone in the game. Yet O'Shea and the armchair coaches want to talk about winning the second half by a score of 8-7??? The fact is that the game was over before the second quarter started. It was just a matter of how much they were going to win by. We won the garbage time bowl because we have so much practice at garbage time.
  10. If we were to replace the OC right now, I'd go with Doug Berry. He's the only experienced guy I can think of who doesn't have a job right now.
  11. We've beaten 0 teams above .500, 1 team at .500 and 2 teams below .500. We are one of the 3 teams below .500.
  12. No, that would be wrong.
  13. MB's offense looked good in 2 games, but we've now played 7. That's not good enough IMO.
  14. After Cameron's blog this week, I'd have thought they'd already know exactly what was wrong with Willy. After all, he can tell right away what's wrong with players even without an MRI.
  15. Willy slowly limping right to the dressing room. Not a good sign IMO. Dude's tough, but how many times can we trot him out after an injury and have him play well? I'm thinking Brohm's the starter against the Argo's and I don't get a good feeling about our chances of a win.
  16. Good coaches have jobs at this time of year. Unfortunately, our OC who's a bad coach has one too. If O'Shea could take the offence over, I'd be in favour of canning MB tomorrow, but O'Shea's not up to the task. Any decent OC's out there looking for work?
  17. Close but horrible game. Riders had 2 TD's and a FG called back due to penalties. 43 accepted penalties for 367 and that doesn't count the 100-150 yards of lost gains. Smith was OK, better than our 2nd string for sure. Almost 300 yards, but a killer pick 6. Argo's played bad and still won. Rider's played well and still lost. I'm guessing the Riders fan sites are full of the refs cost us the game and if you just take away this or that play we would have won. Looked like more Rider fans in the stands than Argos fans.
  18. Glad I'm not putting real money down on my picks.
  19. Great game last night. Ottawa's for real. Should have gone with the stats instead of my gut. Cato throws across his body for a bad Int then tosses one deep middle even though there's no Als in the picture for a second one. I'm tired of the Sam story. Either he's a good player or not. Time to start ignoring the fact he's openly gay. I hate when TSN interviews folks and ignores the play going on. Some high school kid and a CIS coach? Who cares? 2 challenges that shouldn't have been challenged. Slows the game down. Ottawa picked on Hefney all night long and he wasn't up to the task. Burris had a great night and receivers made some highlight catches. Montreal keeps losing by 3 or 4. Close but no cigar.
  20. I had a Brock Busters T shirt. Wish I'd kept it. I was there in '84.
  21. Edmonton made some big mistakes. Lulay found his deep ball range and avoided the rush time after time. Harris had a huge game. Fun game to watch right down to the wire.
  22. I voted for 1, but anything between 1 and 5 would be better than what we have now.
  23. The piece that really matters is Hamilton's attacking defence. As long as it's being effective, the Bombers are in tough.
  24. I'll take Whitaker too.
  25. House was tackled and had folks on top of him so he couldn't get his head above water for several seconds. Could have drowned. Could be a tale that gets bigger every time it's told.
