  1. Collaros wasn't out of the play or thrown to the ground. Therefore 1 & 3 don't apply. Collaros was doing a blind turn to the outside of the field to continue the play. If he didn't anticipate contact, that's on him. If 1, 2 & 3 don't apply, then the first statement doesn't apply because of the WHO IS: at the end of the line. He was blindsided, but blindsiding is a blocking penalty and he wasn't blocking anyone.
  2. Why do we have to argue intent all the time? Intent isn't in the rule book. What happened in the play matters. Collaros isn't a passer, so none of the passing rules apply. Collaros made a blind turn to the outside of the field and ran into Marino, who clocked him. Cheap shot? You bet! Fine coming? I certainly hope so. When 2 refs and the CC say there isn't enough to call a penalty, the most likely answer is that the professional refs know the rules better than the fans, not that all 3 of them got it wrong.
  3. They've won the last 10 or so at home on labour day.
  4. That's for sure. Just run the ball twice, eat the clock, go up by 2, and make us win the game with less than a minute on the clock.
  5. It was a cheap shot, pure and simple. It wasn't roughing the passer, because Collaros clearly isn't in a throwing motion. It wasn't a head shot. It wasn't late because the play was still going on. Blindside is a blocking penalty & it clearly wasn't a block. Article 4 – Unnecessary Roughness... (w) Any other act of roughness or unfair play, provided it is not considered excessive enough to warrant disqualification Is the only thing they could have called. Two refs looking at it + the CC reviewed it and none of them thought that it was a penalty. Marino will be lighter in the wallet again this week.
  6. Leggz: Turns a blocked punt into a 49 yarder & gets a 55 yard FG. Front 7: Huge pressure for 3 quarters. Collaros: Avoided pressure time and time again, while throwing dimes. HH: Demski: Amazing adjustment on the TD.
  7. Jamie Newman will get the start on Monday, on his team’s biggest regular season stage. I'd like to change my pick from Hamilton to Toronto please.
  8. @Ted_Wyman Don’t see Brandon Alexander on the field today with #Bombers after he returned to practice yesterday. Has been out all season and is working his way back.
  9. So added to Free agent = PR?
  10. $187,000 (VAJ Salary) / 18 = $10,388 / Game $10,388 * 8 (Games left for BC) = $83,104 = SMS hit Even if BC was at the cap limit, they won't go over by $100K by adding VAJ's salary.
  11. 2022-08-31 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Add To Free Agent 2022-08-31 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Delete From Suspended Free Agent 2022-08-28 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Transfer To Suspended 2022-08-28 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Add To Active Roster What the actual heck does this mean? Maybe the sorting order is wrong and it's add to active, transfer to suspended, delete from suspended, add to free agent?
  12. VAJ should keep BC in the top 3 in the league. Great pickup for them.
  13. I can't imagine Streveler coming back to the CFL to back up Collaros. He'd get starter money/spot on several other teams. If he has any chance of getting back the NFL after coming up to the CFL it's by showing off his skills and taking a team deep into the playoffs. His best bets would be BC followed by Regina.
  14. I expect Streveler to stay in the NFL this year, but if he comes to the CFL, he'd be best to sign with BC. He'd make them instantly competitive again.
  15. Got a link to that interview? Not exactly how I remember it.
  16. The point is and has always been that the refs got the call wrong. Everyone knows it was a fumble not a forward pass. The CC is in place specifically to fix the on field refs bad calls. They couldn't do it because of the quick/wrong whistle. Why at this point are we rehashing the basic facts of the call? What about a completely different call that has nothing at all to do with the call in question. Way to deflect. The RTP call was the right call, but lets pretend you're right... The Refs gifted us 3 and gifted them 1 and we won by 2. What's your point? The old... Here's "Something I didn't say" that "I wouldn't do" and everyone knows it 'argument'.
  17. I'm not disagreeing that the rules were applied properly, but that doesn't change the fact the the original call was wrong. The key IMO is that the Refs on the field got the call wrong. Everything after that is the fruit of the poisonous tree so to speak.
  18. Here we go again for the millionth time. Pretend I'm saying something I'm not then whine about it and doubt I'm a fan. It's not just me who says it's a back call. Look at the replay like the CC did. It was bad call. It was the wrong call. It was ONE reason we won. This is one of the reasons these things go on and on and on. The RTP was the right call, they've been calling like that all year. The Refs even told MOS it wouldn't be overturned. Go back a few pages and you'll see the whole argument.
  19. You can ask the same question of the other people who are arguing. It's been 3 days of people arguing the poster instead of the post. Fact: It wasn't an incomplete pass. It was a fumble. The CC and the replay both prove that. How is this hard for anyone to understand? The rest of the games this year and the games in 2021 have absolutely nothing to do with the refs mistakenly giving us the ball back in the last game. That's not gift wrapping anything and it's not the ONLY reason we won, but then again I never said either of those things anyway.
  20. The whistle happened. The CC proved that the wrong call was made. That makes it a fact. From that fact, we get that the ball was given to the wrong team etc. The Refs made a mistake by whistling too soon. The CC proved that too. 2 Refs mistakes on the same play, Wrong call, Quick Whistle & all the CC can do is give us the ball back where we fumbled it. That shouldn't happen, but it does a few times a year under the current rules. I offered a quick fix for this obvious problem. I'd have hated it if it was Maier who fumbled, got the ball back and Calgary won by 2. I'm pretty sure everyone would be on my side if that had happened.
  21. Fact: We won by 2 points. Checkmate. BTW: The others are facts too.
  22. Fact: Refs got the call wrong. Fact: Refs gave the ball to the wrong team. Fact: It took a turnover away from Calgary AND allowed us to get 3 points. Fact: We won by 2 points. Fix: Wait until the ball is recovered to blow the whistle even if the Refs call it an incomplete pass. Could be done today with a memo to all teams. Notes: It won't slow the game down, because it only happens a few times a month. It won't cause more injuries any more than a few seconds of any play. Getting the calls right is the most important job of the Refs.
  23. On field officials are there to make the calls on the field. The CC is there to correct the ones that they miss. The CC can't correct the "I thought it was an incomplete pass when it was a fumble" unless the on field refs don't blow the whistle until the fumble is secured or get rid of the so called clean recovery. The current rule was applied properly, but the wrong team ended up with the ball and got 3 points they didn't deserve. They were wrong. That's the point. Let me say it again... They were wrong in their call. The wrong team retained the ball. The wrong team got points. The team that should of got the ball was wronged. The CFL needs to fix this issue. The only two things that can make that happen are: Don't blow the whistle until the fumble is secured OR Give the ball to the right team as long as they make any kind of recovery. Don't blow the whistle is really the only one that makes sense, because the CFL doesn't want players continuing plays after the whistle has sounded. We're not talking about every play, we're talking about fumble/forward pass plays. Maybe one a month over all the games.
