  1. 1. Collaros - Brilliant play yet again 2. The Jeffs - Dominant again 3. Bailey - Best game of the year by far HH - Gotta go with Sara
  2. Man the Lions looked bad last night. Stupid calls like the 3rd down gamble and going for TD's on 3rd down didn't help them. Pipkin isn't the answer. Good thing they traded for Adams.
  3. Good riddance. The Riders should have cut Marino after the Masoli hit. Being a cheap shot artist doesn't equal a penalty tho.
  4. The refs didn't miss it. The CC didn't miss it. MOS said as much. In the last game the Refs missed it. The CC didn't miss it, but they couldn't give the ball back to the right team. This week in another game, there was a maybe fumble. The Refs didn't blow it dead until after it was picked up. CC took a look and called it down by contact. That's the way it should have been done last week. As I pointed out the last time. None of the 3 things happened, therefore it's not UR. Not sure where you're getting the UR section from, but here's the rule from the 2022 rule book w is the only one that could be applied.
  5. Folks want it to be illegal, cuz Collaros got smoked by Moreno, so they're saying it's this rule or that rule. I'm saying it's not this rule or that rule, what else you got? FTR: The only part of the UR rule that could be applied is: (w) Any other act of roughness or unfair play, provided it is not considered excessive enough to warrant disqualification. It wasn't enough in the Refs opinion to warrant a penalty. I was more than enough in Bombers fans opinions that it was enough to warrant a penalty. As for the OPI, I said right off the bat it was a penalty and that it wasn't going to be overturned. I also said, on the other site, that Rose embellished it like a soccer player, which I've got no problem with.
  6. (t) Blindside Blocking (see Rule 7, Section 2, Article 13 Article 13 – Blindside Blocking - Delivering a forcible block to an opponent while moving back towards their own dead ball line anywhere on the field. It wasn't a block. It wasn't convoluted. It's black and white in the rules. FTR: There is no Blindside without blocking in the rule book.
  7. Collaros wasn't out of the play or thrown to the ground. Therefore 1 & 3 don't apply. Collaros was doing a blind turn to the outside of the field to continue the play. If he didn't anticipate contact, that's on him. If 1, 2 & 3 don't apply, then the first statement doesn't apply because of the WHO IS: at the end of the line. He was blindsided, but blindsiding is a blocking penalty and he wasn't blocking anyone.
  8. Why do we have to argue intent all the time? Intent isn't in the rule book. What happened in the play matters. Collaros isn't a passer, so none of the passing rules apply. Collaros made a blind turn to the outside of the field and ran into Marino, who clocked him. Cheap shot? You bet! Fine coming? I certainly hope so. When 2 refs and the CC say there isn't enough to call a penalty, the most likely answer is that the professional refs know the rules better than the fans, not that all 3 of them got it wrong.
  9. They've won the last 10 or so at home on labour day.
  10. That's for sure. Just run the ball twice, eat the clock, go up by 2, and make us win the game with less than a minute on the clock.
  11. It was a cheap shot, pure and simple. It wasn't roughing the passer, because Collaros clearly isn't in a throwing motion. It wasn't a head shot. It wasn't late because the play was still going on. Blindside is a blocking penalty & it clearly wasn't a block. Article 4 – Unnecessary Roughness... (w) Any other act of roughness or unfair play, provided it is not considered excessive enough to warrant disqualification Is the only thing they could have called. Two refs looking at it + the CC reviewed it and none of them thought that it was a penalty. Marino will be lighter in the wallet again this week.
  12. Leggz: Turns a blocked punt into a 49 yarder & gets a 55 yard FG. Front 7: Huge pressure for 3 quarters. Collaros: Avoided pressure time and time again, while throwing dimes. HH: Demski: Amazing adjustment on the TD.
  13. Jamie Newman will get the start on Monday, on his team’s biggest regular season stage. I'd like to change my pick from Hamilton to Toronto please.
  14. @Ted_Wyman Don’t see Brandon Alexander on the field today with #Bombers after he returned to practice yesterday. Has been out all season and is working his way back.
  15. So added to Free agent = PR?
  16. $187,000 (VAJ Salary) / 18 = $10,388 / Game $10,388 * 8 (Games left for BC) = $83,104 = SMS hit Even if BC was at the cap limit, they won't go over by $100K by adding VAJ's salary.
  17. 2022-08-31 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Add To Free Agent 2022-08-31 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Delete From Suspended Free Agent 2022-08-28 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Transfer To Suspended 2022-08-28 WPG COOPER, DeJuan N Add To Active Roster What the actual heck does this mean? Maybe the sorting order is wrong and it's add to active, transfer to suspended, delete from suspended, add to free agent?
  18. VAJ should keep BC in the top 3 in the league. Great pickup for them.
  19. I can't imagine Streveler coming back to the CFL to back up Collaros. He'd get starter money/spot on several other teams. If he has any chance of getting back the NFL after coming up to the CFL it's by showing off his skills and taking a team deep into the playoffs. His best bets would be BC followed by Regina.
  20. I expect Streveler to stay in the NFL this year, but if he comes to the CFL, he'd be best to sign with BC. He'd make them instantly competitive again.
  21. Got a link to that interview? Not exactly how I remember it.
  22. The point is and has always been that the refs got the call wrong. Everyone knows it was a fumble not a forward pass. The CC is in place specifically to fix the on field refs bad calls. They couldn't do it because of the quick/wrong whistle. Why at this point are we rehashing the basic facts of the call? What about a completely different call that has nothing at all to do with the call in question. Way to deflect. The RTP call was the right call, but lets pretend you're right... The Refs gifted us 3 and gifted them 1 and we won by 2. What's your point? The old... Here's "Something I didn't say" that "I wouldn't do" and everyone knows it 'argument'.
  23. I'm not disagreeing that the rules were applied properly, but that doesn't change the fact the the original call was wrong. The key IMO is that the Refs on the field got the call wrong. Everything after that is the fruit of the poisonous tree so to speak.
