  1. There are no rules for jersey's for me. Be a fan what ever way you want to. Even if you wear another teams jersey I'm OK with it. I wore Bomber jerseys in pretty much every stadium in the league at one time.
  2. Just gotta give you a on a Joe Pop jersey. One of my favourite players back in the day.
  3. I never heard about it, but If I had, I would have mentioned it and all heck would have broken on these boards. If Harris had signed with us, it would still be a fact that wasn't blabbed about in the papers or online.
  4. I'm someone. I feel it was strictly about the money. I'm discussing it. If Harris was really willing to sign, hand him a pen and he'd sign. If not, then he wasn't really willing to sign. Disrespect is the excuse/justification. You can call that calling him a liar if you want, but understand that's your word not mine. Nothing is offensive and no one is saying it is. No one is telling you what you can or can't discuss. No one has any problem with the discussion. Some of us are simply pointing out that Bomber fans are just like Rider fans when players leave. Last year, no one talked about Harris not being in shape or that his head wasn't in it or his personal problems or losing MOS' trust (Why was he even talking to MOS anyway? He should have been talking to Walters) or his lack of practice (He didn't need to cuz he's a vet) or anything negative at all. He was the home town hero who got us to back to back GC's. He was worth every penny of his contract &, he needed to be re-signed to retire as a Bomber at all costs. Saying anything else would get you 3+ days of arguments. It's not just about this article. Rumours started last month about Harris' attitude & work ethic last year. 20-20 hindsight would say that's when we should have known that Harris was done with the Bombers. The media machine was already gearing up to the Bombers moving on from Harris. Fans are lapping it up.
  5. Not even being the highest paid RB on the team is the disrespect that Harris is really upset about. The Bombers had to sign the other RB's first. If they don't get that done, then they need Harris back and the offer goes up, which works in Harris' favour. Saying you were willing to sign a contract that you didn't sign doesn't mean anything. If he was really willing to sign it, he would have.
  6. If that's true, then folks are focusing on the wrong things. When a star leaves a team for another team, stuff will be said that wouldn't have been said in the past. Info will be 'leaked' that shows the star in a bad light. Folks will 'remember' things that show the star in a different light. Fans who are upset try to pull the star off the pedestal and find 'reasons' that moving on is OK. For Harris it was get less than 130K and retire in blue or 165K and play for Toronto. We all know his decision and good luck to him.
  7. It's about the money, not the workout or anything else for that matter. Has Augustine's contract gone public? Harris was offered less than Augustine, which was the right thing for the Bombers to do... Give Harris the chance to end his career at home in blue. Harris chose money, which was the right thing for him to do. Bomber fans act like Rider fans when a great player leaves, which is what both teams fans always do.
  8. Castillo is rumoured to be going to EDM. I'd hardly call him a fringe guy. Eli is the 6 OL, but likely won't be back due to Covidiot-ness. Not a starter yet, but a key backup piece. Alexander isn't signed yet and even if/when he is, he won't be a starter for the first third of the season. McQuire looks to be moving on, meaning our backup QB spot is actually worse than it was last year and it was bad then. Grant's not signed yet. Maybe he's back. Maybe not. It is what it is. When you're the top team in the league, other teams will want your players. You're destined to be worse the next season UNLESS you can sign good replacements. We'll see if that happens before TC.
  9. As it stands right now: Out: Adams - OTT Alford - NFL Antigha - EDM Darby - OTT Harris - TOR Jones - MTL Kongbo - NFL Lawler - EDM Richardson - BC That's a ton of talent and more losses to come. In: Ellingson
  10. Andrew Harris is dead to me until he signs his 1 day contract to retire as a Bomber.
  11. Now that Lawler's going to Edmonton, BC has some money to sign other FA's. Any decent OL left?
  12. Alexander's going to be gone for 6 games. Why would anyone sign him now instead of later?
  13. I love it around here in the off season. Our guys sign for less than they were reportedly offered and it's what a great guy, he loves it here. Other teams sign a player for less than they were reportedly offered and it's Ha Ha Ha, they were never offered that and they are overpaid at what they're getting.
  14. Hawaii and it's not even close.
  15. I'd take Brady O over Harris at this point in their careers. Harris was the highest paid RB in the league for good reason, but we don't need to pay his salary level with our O line to get similar performance numbers. Harris can make more on a team like Ottawa or BC who need starting grade NI talent badly than we should pay him. If that's his decision, then more power to him.
  16. I DDG'd (DuckDuckGo'd) for 5 Minutes and couldn't come up with where I found the 20K number. I thought it was in Twitter or 3downnation, but no luck, so I am apologising for using 20K. Now, on to this post... You're assuming BC doesn't make the playoffs which may or may not be a good assumption. Your're assuming the Winnipeg comes in first ($3400), wins the division playoff ($3600), and the Grey Cup ($16,000), which comes to $23,000 (Numbers from: https://cfldb.ca/faq/compensation/ and from the 2019 CBA). Any or all of those assumptions may or may not be good assumptions. Is the extra $7000 is coming from your assumption of how much the playoff money is going up? $250K with a chance at playoff money is more than 200K with an almost guarantee of making the playoffs which is $3400. Oh Yah! I almost forgot. I didn't say that players were going to see who was going to pay them $21K more.
  17. Actually I'm saying Woli and Couture took $20K less and that Bighill is the outlier.
  18. Two guys, Wolo and Couture. Bighill is a special case. The Bombers got him an off season job. (Maybe we could do that with Lawler too.) Your imagination is different than mine. I can't see anyone leaving $50K on the table, nor do I think they should. Football careers are too short to turn down that kind of dough. I wouldn't pay Lawler $230K, but I suspect that's what it will take.
  19. Looks like $20K is the number for players to stay with us instead of going to a bad team. Would you pay Lawler $230K?
  20. Lawler is obviously worth more than you think he is on the open market. He's worth more than even I thought he was too. Lawler was the only 1000 yard receiver last year. He's worth more than Whitehead. Yawn. Like we skirt contracts by getting players off season jobs.
  21. Cost of living is way over stated around here. Most players are only 'in town' during the season, not living in the city full time. Players aren't buying a house or condo, which is the biggest difference between a big city and a small one. Lions don't train in Vancouver, they are way out in Whalley, which helps with rent as does sharing with other players. Lions boosters also help with accommodations. Food and gas are a bit more expensive.
  22. I told you Lawler @ $165K was wrong. $250K seems like an overpay tho. I hope we don't match the offer.
  23. Lawler's worth at least $190K-$200K on the FA market considering what Lucky got.
  24. At this point you gotta assume that players who aren't signed are waiting to see what other teams offer first.
  25. I've got my 3 shots. Gotta assume that this will become a yearly booster like the Flu shot (Got that one too).
