How can anyone not trust doctors to make a vaccine and not trust doctors opinions on vaccines, but trust doctors to fix them when they get sick because they didn't take the vaccine? Their ought to be a special ward for these special people where they just get thoughts and prayers instead of taking up the doctors and nurses time.

Reindolt was a bad coach, but at least he was a decent guy. I sat with him at a Grey Cup party and talked for an hour about football. He was highly entertaining. The Kelly year was the worst for me. I wouldn't have sat down and talked with him if he was the only person who had a chair available at his table and I have really bad knees.

1. Collaros - On time. On Target. Drops cost him a lot of yards. 2. Jefferson - Only guy getting consistent pressure. 3. Jones - Forced fumble likely saved the game for us. HH - Gautier = Huge hits always make me smile.

Dumbest move of his HC career IMO.

PLAP's offence works when you have a decent QB, a good RB and a great O Line. Ottawa has none of those. Once they get behind, they can't open up the offence because Nichols deep ball accuracy is sub par. All they can do it the same thing and hope for zero drops. I'm surprised they even have 1 win this year.

GDT - Week 4 - The Stamps (1-2) @ The Champs (2-1)
TBURGESS replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I started by saying the Bombers made 2 big plays that put 14 points on the board for us. That's not ignoring the good things, it's giving the Bombers their due. I'm not pretending that the Bombers didn't make mistakes. We all know they made mistakes. I'm saying that the game wasn't lost simply by Bomber mistakes. The loss was mostly due to the Argos badly out playing us on that day. That's why I don't agree with your 'do you see the Bombers making that many mistakes again' line of 'reasoning'. Now on to today's game. I expect it to be a one sided win for the Bombers. -

There you go again, pretending that it was all Bomber mistakes that led to the whupping we took. No credit to the Argos for outplaying us last week. -

BC winning last night puts the pressure on us. Lose this one and we're tied with Calgary and BC. Toronto taught other teams how to beat us. Control the lines and stop the run. I don't think Calgary has the horses to control the lines and Harris being back makes stopping the run way harder. I expect a one sided game, but you never know. -

Finally, something we can both agree on. -

Sigh... Yes, I think the guys were really as bad as they played last week. This week? That remains to be seen. Next week? Who knows? Let's get past this week first. -

Now on to 'Do you expect them to be THAT bad every game?' How's that not moving the goalposts? Your head is so far up the Bombers butts that you might as well check for polyps while your there. The final score flattered us and everyone knows it. We didn't keep the score close. They owned us (450 yards of offence, 40 minutes TOP, 25% of our passing came on 1 play) and I'm sure everyone including the players and coaches knows that too. Eventually we lost by 7, but we were down by 14 with just over 2 minutes to go and they didn't bother to kick an easy FG at the end to be up by 10. You and others want to shine the turd and focus on it being a 7 point loss instead of calling a spade a spade (or F'ing shovel if you prefer). When we were a crappy team, hope was all we had to cling to, so we had to look for any silver lining, ignore the reality and find the 3 or 4 plays that went our way. We're not that team any more. We're a contender. Time to put down the blue kool-aid and to see things as they are, not how you wish they were. -

You're trying to move the goal posts again. FTR: I'm only talking about the 2nd Argo game, not any other game before or after. The fact is that game wasn't close despite the final score. -

Odds and Sods - Game 3 - Bombers at Argos
TBURGESS replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We got soundly beaten in all phases of the game. We had 2 chances to win... slim and none. It ended up being slim. 2 big plays made the score closer than the game really was. The final score flattered us and everyone who watched it knows that. We got a garbage time TD with 2:12 left on the clock when they were playing off the receivers. We kicked off and they drained the clock. They were in FG range so could have been up by at least 10 if they wanted to, but they didn't bother cuz they didn't need to. You're just looking for a silver lining. -

Actually 3 big plays and we didn't get the 3rd one. -
Yes I've played football and no, that doesn't matter one bit. Who said 90 degree turn? No one! Slow down. Put your hands out. Don't lead with your shoulder. Any one of these would likely have meant no penalty. These are professional athletes with amazing reflexes not kids playing 6 man football or high schooler's playing 12 man. D Lineman can change direction. So can smaller, lighter DB's if they choose to. Alexander chose to go for the bit hit. If he wasn't under control or didn't know where the ball was, that's on him. If he jarred the ball loose it wouldn't be a penalty and if my Auntie had balls she'd be my uncle. He didn't jar the ball loose because the receiver didn't have the ball. That's the point. He was late and no, it's not just me saying that, it's the command center. You obviously don't agree with them, and that's fine, but it's the way it is these days so you might as well get used to it.

Of course they count, but to say we were close in a game where we obviously weren't is Rider fan level of self deception. -
5 yards is a bit of an overstatement. I corrected it to past the receiver. It doesn't matter how many yards past. Past is past. If there's someone here who can go frame by frame and show where the ball is at the moment of contact, that'd be great. It's about going for the big hit vs playing the ball & he was 100% going for the big hit. That's premeditation, not mind reading. When you do that in modern football, you better get your timing right. Too early and it's a penalty. Too late and it's a penalty. The Ref on the field in real time thought the timing was OK. The Refs in the Command center, with more time and more angles, thought it was late and they are allowed to overturn that call due to the rules. I agree with the command center. Most around here don't, because it cost us a penalty and kept one of their drives going. I suspect that they'd think differently if Adams was the one getting blown up, but fans around here say they wouldn't change their minds. I guess we'll have to revisit it when one of ours gets knocked out with a 'clean' hit. This is the first time I can remember that the Command center over turned a missed call like this, but I expect it won't be the last. Coaches are going to have to teach DB's to tackle properly, to watch the ball, and to be under control, just like they taught the D lineman a few years back.

Odds and Sods - Game 3 - Bombers at Argos
TBURGESS replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We were outplayed in all facets of the game. The only reason we were close was the 2 huge plays. The strip the QB and return for a TD and Adams TD. -
You think I've been somehow waiting for 2 years for a specific play just so I can say it's a penalty? Wow, what a maroon! It was premeditated because he targeted the receiver without knowing where the ball was. He was 100% going for the kill shot. If the ball wasn't past the receiver or the receiver had his hand on the ball, then it's a good play to remove the player from the ball, but that's not what happened. It was dangerous and dirty because he lowered the boom on an unprotected player, knocking him out. The whining about my negativity always starts when positrons know I'm right.
-
How do we know that?
-
It was premeditated. It was dangerous. It was dirty. It was penalized. I suspect that Alexander will be fined this week.
-
I believe it was a valid penalty and should have been called right away. Defenceless receiver, ball already past him, DB making no attempt to play the ball instead, choosing to go for the kill shot. It's a dirty play and exactly the kind of play they want to get rid of in today's CFL. If Alexander had been a 1/2 second earlier, or the ball wasn't over the receivers head, then it wouldn't be a penalty, but those aren't the facts.

For arguments sake, lets flip the jersey's. Adams is the one getting knocked out by exactly the same hit, do you still want them to let it go?
