  1. Great to have Harris back.
  2. So 1 full 18 game season as a starter.
  3. GP is games played, not games started. Backups can have 18 GP's and no starts at all. Last year Neuf had 6 GP's, which is one third of the season. I'm not sure how many starts. He didn't play until we had OL injuries. You call that the furthest thing from a backup. I disagree. 2017 and 2018 are the only 2 years in Neuf's entire 9 year career that he had 18 GP's and he wasn't the starter for all of those games. The only way I can think of to figure out how many starts he had would be to pull every game day lineup. Anyone know of a better way to find out how many starts Neuf had each year? Being as he has 3, 8, 7 and 6 GP's in 4 of those years, I'd guess he's started way less than half the available games in his career. I'd also guess that about half of the GP's in '17 and '18 were as a backup, not a starter. For the above reasons, I'll continue to call him a part time/backup player and I'll stick with my contention that paying him 200Kish is too much, no matter how well he plays when he does start. FTR: It's not about Neuf in particular. I wouldn't pay any part time/backup 200Kish.
  4. I didn't cherry pick anything. I checked with CFL.CA to see if I was miss-remembering last year. It says 6 games. IIRC he didn't start until we had injuries on the OL. He didn't start 18 games in either of the 2 years before that, making him a backup those years.
  5. Neuf played 6 games last year. A part time player doesn't deserve $200K IMO.
  6. Neuf's always been expensive, especially for a guy who is basically a backup/part timer. I'd save the SMS $. I could see Medlock retiring and I'd miss him, but life goes on. Newbie would be way less $ and the DI spot would help us. Harris is one of the best, if not THE best RB in the league. His passport makes him way more expensive than other RB's. If he doesn't want to take a pay cut like the most players are doing, then he can leave and get paid elsewhere. He's old and we'd save a lot of SMS there, but I doubt we'd be able to find any other NI who is at his level. I hope we keep him and I hope he takes a pay cut.
  7. It's a very good day for signings.
  8. The best Canadian's are in the NFL. The next best are the 6 or 7 starting caliber Canadian's on every team. The rest are backups/special teams guys. I'd love to see what the CFL looked like if the best players in the world played it, but with the ratio and the NFL bucks, that's never going to happen. Personally, I'd like to see less jobs given to Canadian's simply because of their birth certificate. I'd reduce the number of starting Canucks required by 1 and the number of overall Canucks required on each team by 2 or 3. That would allow teams to have better players at less money while increasing the talent level in the league. It would cost the worst 2 or 3 Canucks on each team their jobs, unless they could beat out the import talent. If they can't do that, then they really don't deserve the roster spots anyway.
  9. Neuf is a good place to save SMS and we need to cut down.
  10. Like I said, I hope you guys are right.
  11. I don't have any opinion about how good or bad McGuire is yet, because I haven't seen him play enough. I hope you guys are right though, because he'll likely be our starting QB sometime next season.
  12. Merry Xmas to all. Have fun and stay safe.
  13. Make up things I didn't say just to complain about them, thereby proving once again that you are one of the ID 10 T's. Nope, I didn't complain about any of that. Nope, I didn't complain about the playoffs or the regular season either. It was me being condescending. That's the joke. If you've read any of what I actually wrote, you'd already know that I've been very clear on what part of the year I was talking about, when I said average, from the very first post onward. Not the pre-season. Not the post-season. Just the regular season. Who cares about the pre-season? Everyone agrees that we had a great post season.
  14. Pre means before the season. Post means after the season. Condesending means talking down to people.
  15. There's the pre-season, the regular season and the post season. I've said exactly what I really wanted to say.
  16. The ID 10 T is still you.
  17. That's my first comment. If you read the whole line, you'll realize what I'm saying.
  18. My dog you guys are idiots. I said we had an average regular season and you act like I said they played like crap or that the season wasn't successful. Are you unclear on what average means? You say you don't care what I say, but you've gone on for several days whining about what I said and grossly misinterpreting my point even tho I've restated it many times. I said we had a great playoffs, which we did. No disrespect to the team at all. We came from 3rd in the West to win the cup, which isn't something that happens very often. That doesn't change the fact that we came in 4th overall and 3rd in the West in the regular season. Folks want to say we were a great team last year, when the truth is we were a great team in the playoffs and an average team for the rest of the year. Cheers & stay safe.
  19. All of Hamilton, Regina, Calgary, Winnipeg and Montreal had successful regular seasons. Edmonton was semi-successful, but being sub-.500 and 6th overall is below average IMO. Both the Riders and Ticats had great regular seasons. You can't do any better than coming in 1st. Montreal had a great regular season too. They went from the free space on the bingo card at 5-13 to 2nd in the East at 10-8 with a rookie HC who got the job at the last minute and without a bonifide starting QB. We went from 3rd to 3rd and won one more game in 2019 than we did in 2018. Successful and average. Calgary had a less successful season in 2019 than they did in 2018, but they still beat us and got a home game. I'd call it just above average.
  20. So, no... that's not the argument. To restate. The Bombers had an average season followed by a great playoff to win the cup. The tougher division argument means we had 1 harder game than Montreal last year. I said IF we hadn't made the trade for Collaros, we'd have lost the first playoff game,, we'd have 1 less regular season win and a poor playoff run. Losing 1 addtional game against Calgary doesn't change the regular season much, but losing the playoff game changes the way we'd think about last season immensly. Therefore it's the playoff wins that make people remember the regular season as being good to great, not the season itself.
  21. If we don't make the trade for Collaros, we don't win the last game and go to 10 wins. (3rd string QB, whose thrown 3 passes in the CFL, starting his first game) We go one and done in the playoffs again because we're forced to start our 3rd string QB in his second start against Regina in Regina. Do you still say we were good start to finish with just a little hiccup in the middle? Of course not. You say we were average with a poor playoff run. Montreal played Hamilton 3 times last year. Hamilton was the best team in the league during the regular season. The other extra game was Ottawa, which was easier than our extra game against either Sask or Calg. I give them 1 easier game than us, which I don't consider a huge advantage. BTW: We lost 4 games to eastern teams last year and 3 to the stronger West. I'm not changing anyone's mind here, but I stick to my point that we were an average regular season team. Above average regular season teams have a home playoff game and good ones come in 1st in their division.
  22. Take issue with the facts if you want. I'm going with the facts, which is they were 4th overall in the regular season and great in the playoffs. We were just 1 win ahead of Montreal. Every teams plays every other team twice plus 2 extra against their own division, so playing in the East simply means 2 games against weaker teams. It's not as big an advantage as Western fans make it out to be.
  23. The win/loss record speaks for itself. All teams went through slumps. All teams had injury issues. Hamilton had to replace their starting QB before we did. They got 1st in the east. Regina had to replace their starting QB before we did. They got 1st in the West. 4th in a 9 team league is pretty much the definition of average.
  24. We had a pretty average season. 3rd in the West. 4th overall. The difference last year is that we had a great playoff run. The east is a weaker division, but that only gets the eastern teams 2 extra games against the weaker teams and you can't exactly call BC a strong team last year.
  25. I don't think you guys are looking at Farjardo objectively at all. He was supposed to be their backup QB. He managed to get them into 1st place in the West. He threw for more than 4300 yards, 18 TD's to 8 picks. That's an objectively great job for a first year starter. Does that make him a top QB? Not in my mind, but if he does it again next year, he's got to be in that conversation.
