No they aren't.

I'd rather see the Argos make a game out of it instead of a blowout that's over in the first quarter.

I'm hoping for a close game decided in the last couple of minutes. Hamilton's a significantly better team with a ton of injuries. Riders are riding high on beating up on the worst teams in the league. Fajardo won't fare as well against Hamilton's D as he did against the Lions. The big question is can Evans play well enough to get a TD or two?

Hanging on by a thread... Streveler.
-
I've already seen enough ass whoppin's this year. I'd rather see a closer game where we win.
-
Toronto will take any old QB eh. We got a lot more for our broken Willy back in the day and they shouldn't have made that trade either.
-
I agree that Streveler should have got more playing time and the full playbook against Tor and Ott. I disagree that you don't pull a player who is having the worst game he's had in about a year. It wouldn't have mattered if we lost with Streveler getting more reps or with Nichols getting the reps, but Streveler needs those reps to get better and gave us a better chance to win IMO.

Threw 3 picks. Wasn't seeing the field properly. Was taking big chances like throwing into double coverage. Played his worst game since last years Banjo bowl. I don't hate Nichols but even you have to admit that was his worst game of the season. If you don't it's your bias showing, not mine. Yah. I'd have pulled him after the 3rd pick because he wasn't playing well. The perfect record and MOP don't trump the fact that he wasn't playing well in the game.

The old there's no guarantee 'argument'. Of course there's no guarantee. There never is. If Nichols was lost for the season... Yes, I think Streveler is good enough to take the team as far as it can go. All we need is a QB who can throw for 200 yards and rarely turn the ball over. Last game we had the perfect opportunity to give Streveler experience. We chose to keep Nichols in even tho he was having a terrible game. The backup isn't going to get experience unless Nichols is injured.
-
I think Nichols is a streaky QB. When things are going good, he can be lights out. When 1 thing goes bad it tends to snowball. In the Hamilton game, Nichols badly wanted to continue his completion streak and they called the easiest ball to complete, the sweep dressed up as a pass. That one was dropped. Next play Nichols overthrows his receiver big time for a pick, almost a pick 6. Once he threw his 3rd pick, it was time to give Streveler a chance while we still had time to win the game.

No one is going to complain if we win by 20. Folks will if we win by less than a TD.
-
If we lose to the Argos then something's terribly wrong with the team.

I can't see the Lions cutting Reilly. I'm sure he got a big portion of his salary as bonus money up front so there's little SMS gain for BC. I can't see any other team trading for Reilly. They'd get good value this year, but they'd have to renegotiate in the off season or pay the huge salary.

My whole point is Masoli v Evans. I didn't suggest that the D wouldn't make adjustments, that's on you. I said the hugely superior Masoli would have played better than the greatly inferior Evans. You trying to extrapolate from a single data point (A pick) and you're not even doing that properly. 1 pick in 10 min = 6 picks in 60 min. I'm using the 2 QB's entire CFL careers to reach my conclusion. It's also common knowledge that backup QB's with little experience don't play as well as top ranked starters. You may get tired of what you consider my gloom and doom, but I get equally tired of people making stuff up that I never typed then getting upset about it.
-
And then there were 3... Nichols, Harris and Reilly are the only starting QB's left standing this year and Reilly's been taking a beating.
-
Masoli is a top QB. Evans isn't even close to being a starter, let alone a top CFL QB. It's ridiculous to ignore the change of QB as a reason our defence suddenly looked better. I'll go even further.... If Masoli stayed healthy, we'd have lost the game big time considering the number of times we gave the ball away.
-
Masoli was 4 of 4 then ran 20+ yards for a TD. He owned our defence on the first drive. He completed an 11 yard pass on the second set of downs before he got injured. 6 out of 7 with 1 int, 87% completion, 59 yards in 1 drive + 1 play. Evans played like the young backup QB he is. Barely 50% passing for under 100 yards and a pick. The defence didn't change. The QB did.
