  1. Raw rookie and a guy who has very little playing time backed up by a draft pick or two replacing young all star quality O linemen? Sounds like a serious downgrade to our O line to me.
  2. Folks around here are using the wrong word. It's not that we can't afford Chungh. It's that we won't pay him what he wants.
  3. And maybe you'll stop making things up and pretending that they are 'reasons' things are happening.
  4. I'll get right on that.🙄
  5. If it's so easy and the Union will just take whatever they are given, then why wasn't it done and dusted in January? It would be better for all involved to go into free agency knowing what the SMS number will be.
  6. I don't see it myself. We have 70K extra from the Durant situation last year. We freed up a bunch of money on Randle, Wild, Leggett, and Goosen. Rumour is that we'll lose Chungh and Loffler. That's a ton of SMS room.
  7. Just don't use Harris.
  8. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/01/30/canadian-content-ranking-national-free-agents-2/ 2. SUKH CHUNGH OL | WPG With Matthias Goossen retired, Sukh Chungh becomes one of the top prizes in free agency. The former second overall pick turns just 27 in March and is in the prime of his career, helping anchor one of the CFL’s top O-lines in 2018. Chungh is regarded as one of the most aggressive and physical guards in the league. 3. TAYLOR LOFFLER DB | WPG With two of the top three nationals coming out of Winnipeg, Kyle Walters still has some work to do in the coming weeks. Almost all of the starting safeties in the CFL are pending free agency, but 26-year-old Taylor Loffler is at the top of his position. He has 185 tackles, eight interceptions and seven forced fumbles in three seasons.
  9. I guess we will find out soon.
  10. FWIW: https://3downnation.com/2019/01/29/what-matthias-goossens-retirement-means-for-the-bombers/ This could be a massive blow to the Bombers. 2 starting NI OL.
  11. It's Walters fault when MOS doesn't have the best players. It's PLAPS fault when the O doesn't work. It's Halls fault when the D doesn't work. It's the players fault when they aren't prepared. It's the kickers fault for talking MOS into going for the stupid long FG's. MOS is Teflon.
  12. Not surprised it's Dickenson. Thought that's where they'd end up after no team would allow them to interview their coaches. That leaves Trestman, who is smart enough not to wade into the mess that is the Riders right now, and coaches currently on the Riders staff. I'm a bit surprised about the 3 year contract. I was expecting 2.
  13. and MOS was in charge of PLAP.
  14. Same thing can be said for MOS, especially in this years playoffs.
  15. New HC's won't be able to pick their own staff under the Management SMS world. Only 2 things can happen. Either new HC will have to accept the current coaches or coaches will only get 1 year contracts. No firing of HC's during the season and bringing someone else in anymore either unless it's someone on the current staff.
  16. Interesting. Mack Herron was really nice to me the couple of times I met him. I was just a high school football player asking a bunch of dumb questions, so he could have just ignored me.
  17. The Riders first two HC choices to interview were both OC's, likely because their problem last year was all on the offense. Lack of scoring. Lack of drives. Getting just enough out of their offense to win games. Yes that means paying 2 OC's for the year, but that's better than sucking on offense for another year.
  18. Even non sports fans can watch the Superbowl for free on CTV. They should at least be able to watch the Grey cup for free too.
  19. Why do you say that?
  20. We got some younger NI OL who should be ready to go if we lose an OL. Same can't be said for losing Loffler.
  21. Maybe Elizondo wasn't upset, but PLAP was.
  22. The only reason that PLAP would be pissed is if he actually wanted to interview for the job. That would tell me that his 'I don't want the Toronto job cuz I don't get to choose my coaches' really meant 'I can see the writing on the wall, they ain't going to offer me the job'. I'd be interested to know the contract wording. I'd guess their aren't any dates attached to being able to interview for a better job. It certainly didn't stop Jones from taking another job at this time of the off season.
  23. IF PLAP's contract allows him to interview for HC jobs and the Bombers stopped him, I can understand why he'd be pissed. It could bite us in the but later on if we aren't following contractual obligations. Someone on that other site said that PLAP's twitter feed had all Bombers references and our colours removed and hour or two ago and his tagline as Bombers OC removed. I just checked and the Bombers OC is back (If it was ever gone), but no Bomber colours if they were ever there. Personally, I'd let him interview if he wants to. It's better to give him a shot than to say no, even at this time of year. I wouldn't want to be the team that's known for not following contracts or not allowing coaches to interview for better jobs.
  24. I went Brown and Helton. Never saw Tinsley play.
  25. Add Leggett to the list.
