Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion
TBURGESS replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Our resistance is taking an import off to get Flanders on. Last year we had Westerman, Corney and Hurl as NI's on the D, so we could afford to use Flanders. -
I hear you @Mike. It's just as hard for us who've followed the team since before you were born and haven't seen us win it all in almost 30 years.
-
I guess that makes you a Troll.
-
Lets say he signed for 150K. Less than a third of the season to go. You don't think we have $50K left in our SMS? I'll bet we re-sign folks before the end of the year with money we have in this years SMS.
-
May I suggest that you stop whining about my posts and just let it go. Most folks around here would likely appreciate that.

I'm not pissing or moaning. I'm pointing out the difference in the way the two team operate when they get to .500. FTR: I would have signed Matthews. I would have fired Hall in the off season and yes, I know his defense had a great game this week. I'd have started Streveler for the last 2 games and I'd expect we'd still have won them because Nichols wasn't a difference maker in either game. I wouldn't have signed either Wild or Leggett in the off season. Oko, because of his salary, would have been on the bubble too. I wouldn't have gone with 11 import starters + NI's on defense.
-
We gave them a beat down this week. No doubt about it. That doesn't change my point. They take action when they lose 2 in a row. We don't take action even when we lose 4 in a row.
-
It's just a different philosophy. The Eskimos hit .500 in the last 3rd of the season, heads roll because that's not good enough. The Bombers hit .500 in the last 3rd of the season, and we're talking about how good we are and how we shoulda coulda woulda won more games because we is better than our record.

Province Portion of IGF Debt written off

It's not an oversimplification, it's a fact that governments like to ignore. -

There is only 1 pot of money. If you spend it on A, you can't spend it on B without going into a deeper deficit. -
TEAM NOTES - WINNIPEG @ EDMONTON GAME #69
TBURGESS replied to Mr Dee's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We've only won 6 games so maybe it's we are 6-4 in those games? -
Don't worry about it. MLB's don't use their arms for anything anyway.
-
I agree, but most can still finish the games they start.

To those who said this would happen in the first place and got roasted on these boards for daring to say it... Congrats. You were right. -
Good news on Harris as long as he's really OK. He hasn't finished the last 2 games and he had a week off in the middle.
-
It's against the Argos, so I'm assuming they've already won it. 😉

Luck is like God. You either believe or you don't and their is no proof of either.

3 stars: 1. Nichols. Best game of the year. Didn't throw any picks. Hit the deep balls. 2. Thompkins - Made a bunch of plays and a couple of hard catches. 3. Wolotarsky - Clutch catches for a guy that defenses mostly ignore. Happy Honker - Sayles

7 wins vs 3 wins. Riders win without their offense scoring much, so TO's D won't be the difference maker.

It's because the game is against Montreal. The worst team in the league. A team we beat 56-10 last time we played them and we had to start our rookie QB. Doesn't look like they will win any more games this year. They are starting a QB who has 2 games of CFL experience and who hasn't looked good in either of them. We need to beat a +.500 team before it means anything. FTR: I haven't called MOS an "Expletive" or Nichols the worst QB in the league. I have said that MOS isn't even an average HC and that Nichols is playing like crap this year. Both are true statements.
