  1. When I'm wrong I say it. Heck, it's even some idiots tag line around here.
  2. If Montreal throws to Bowman early and often and puts up with his drops, he can be an asset. We didn't use him that way.
  3. Bowman was making $140K anyone know what his bonus was? In other words... how much have we already paid him and how much SMS room do we save?
  4. Demski is taking the Flanders role and is a NI. IF we replace Bowman, I'd go with a young receiver, not Flanders.
  5. Willy's hand injury required stitches, so it's a little more than a bobo. I'll bet he's hoping to go on the 6 game so he gets paid for the rest of the year. If not, he'll be cleaning out his locker real soon.
  6. When we signed Bowman for $140K, I thought it was a great signing. Now I think we overpaid. We aren't getting our money's worth. We've likely blown 90K or so at this point, but it might be time to give up on the Bowman experiment and move on to younger cheaper players so they have experience come playoff time.
  7. Re: O'Shea's challenge. I was laughing when he's trying to make the challenge. O'Shea says something, the ref shakes his head no. O'Shea says something again. Ref shakes his head no. O'Shea finally figures out that he can't challenge what he wants to challenge and settles for PI. Ref announces it. Soon after Ref announces the play stands. Dumb challenge. Even if we get it, it doesn't matter much.
  8. How long you been waiting to use that joke? 😁
  9. Edmonton doesn't want Willy so they won't make that trade. Ottawa doesn't want Matthews so they won't make that trade. I'm not sure that Adams is any better than Willy and he hasn't had much time running the Montreal offense. That being said, I expect to see him in the second half.
  10. All games are winnable when you step onto the field. The BC game was winnable up until the final play. I'm not interested in winnable games. I'm interested in wins, because wins are what counts, not just giving it a good try. As for PLAP, cuz that's what this thread is about, he's inconsistent. Great sometimes. Too conservative others. Tries too hard to be the smartest guy in the stadium and goes away from what is working. We are better with him than without him. I expect he gets a couple of HC calls in the offseason,
  11. In the #metoo movement you're assumed guilty at accuasion time. In this case, he lost his job at or around arrest time, which is later on in the process. If he is found not guilty, then I'm sure the CFL will lift the ban even tho not guilty doesn't mean he didn't do it.

  13. Both teams were on the field for the same amount of time. Both teams had penalties that extended drives. Both teams had blown coverages and made mental errors. No one is arguing that fatigue doesn't exist and I'm not arguing that TOP is the only factor to fatigue. The point is you're saying fatigue affected our defense against BC in Vancouver, yet you can't point out even 1 play where you can actually say that fatigue was a factor. Your theory. Your burden of proof. Right before the half BC's defense two and outted us right before their last drive. They didn't look fatigued even though the TOP, the score, and the game play up to that point were all against them. It's not that I can't figure out what his point is. It's that I disagree with it. What's so hard to understand about that?
  14. Weather is the same for both teams. Penalties were very close too. We run more than any other team so they should have been more fatigued and physically worn down than us. What 'head scratching mistakes' are you attributing to fatigue in that game?
  15. Loffler likes to go for the big hit instead of the much safer wrapping his arms around the receiver to make sure. Big hits look great when they work, but players know it's coming now and are avoiding or absorbing the hits.
  16. These are pro athletes. Fatigue shouldn't become a factor in either the first or the second half when the TOP is almost equal. Yes, the DL guys are the ones who would suffer from fatigue, which is why they are rotated in and out of the game. No, I'm not lumping all players together. I've seen defensive players get worn down and fatigued. Hands on their hips. Sucking air. Going down to get 3 plays off and to rest the defense. None of that is what happened to the Bombers in BC. BC simply outplayed us in the 2nd half. Lulay found his range on the deep ball and moved the pocket to extend plays. BC players like Burnham stepped their games up. We made some bad play calls on 3rd downs. Our offense went 2 and out because they went away from what was working and because the goal line stand gave BC renewed hope. Nichols uncharacteristically threw INT's. The defense characteristically played soft and gave up too many plays. They made the most of their chances and we didn't.
  17. More like he's wondering why they didn't find a way to pay Bighill what he's worth.
  18. Clueless comparison especially when you make it a second time. I guess your saying that BC's defense was so fatigued after losing TOP in the first half that they just couldn't play at all in the second half. No? So it's the fatigue factor only matters when it's the Bombers defense or only in the second half? 😎 If BC had say 5 or 10 additional minutes of TOP, then you could rightly use the fatigue argument, but they didn't. In short, I'm saying that a pro football player can take the stress of having to play 30-31 minutes of football no matter if 18-20 minutes of it are in the first half or in the second half.
  19. There aren't enough good NI's to go round right now which is why it's so hard to replace the ones who go down to injury. IF/When the CFL gets another team, the problem will become even worse. The best NI's go to the NFL, just like the best US players. We get the leftovers. Most NI's play special teams. Finding the last starting level NI is hard for most teams, which is why NI's get paid way more than their US born counterparts. I'd rather see better players than more NI's. It's the rules and the paychecks that set the CFL apart from the NFL, not a specific number of NI starters.
  20. Darrin Bauming‏ @DarrinBauming Bowman, 32, inks a one-year deal worth a reported $140k — friendly numbers all around for #Bombers GM Kyle Walters.
  21. An alternative to drafting early and restricting the movement of NI players (Which the CFLPA wouldn't go for), more NI's on the PR and more money in the SMS to make it work would be to reduce the number of NI's by 1 and increase the number of DI's by 1. Better players. Less money than paying extra players and the same restrictions we have now on player movement.
  22. You're comparison is faulty. It's not about what an old guy who sits around the house can do. It's about what a professional athlete can do. The defense doesn't do 40 wind-sprints in a row. They do a few then take a break and repeat. If the defense wants more breathers, they need to stop the offense from getting first downs. The idea that the defense gets tired when the TOP is almost equal is flawed from the get go.
  23. I think you are right that the Lions had the ball for more time in the second half than we did. That doesn't mean our D should have been gassed in the 4th though. They should have been well rested after winning the TOP battle in the first half.
