  1. We’re a once a week restaurant family and go about every third week, Roxy’s is not what it once was but still the best in town. They’ve had lots of staffing issues, not at all the same as we started going 10 or so years ago. The Riverboat is greatly improved from what we remember from the first time we lived here 8 years ago.
  2. Having spent 7 years in Harbourview South and now being outside Selkirk I can agree with many of your selections, you are lucky to have kids that will eat such a diverse selection. My 10 year old would starve over many of those options. Sals is actually pretty good and does a better job catering to food allergies than some of the others you mentioned. Next time you are in Selkirk you should give the Riverboat a try, service is friendlier and more consistent than Roxy's. We tried to get in to Roxy's a couple weeks ago and they didn't have enough servers to open both dining rooms and it was over an hour wait for a table.
  3. Must be why my Sask friends are extra salty this morning...
  4. My favourite that I need to do sometime soon is a tri tip. Sous vide for about 6 hours and then finish cowboy style directly on the coals. Better meet is hard to find and I just spent a week in Texas.
  5. This year is off to a brisk start. Any guesses on the over/under? I think if this pace keeps it’s somewhere in the 200 range.
  6. Talk about an embarrassment of riches. 9 - Oline under contract that could start on most any team in the league...
  7. I was thinking about this today and didn’t get a chance to search for an answer. What does an MLA pension pay? Is it the lifetime cushion similar a federal MP? How many years to be fully vested? I’m going to guess that ever MLA that decides not to run is fully vested and has a pretty soft cushion. In many ways this reinvigoration that this creates for the party could be good for all Manitobans. It will force the NDP and Libs to run on policy not just “we’re not them”.
  8. New to the riding, any ideas on who the red and orange candidates will be? Are they nominated already?
  9. After the chat about Oak, I was thinking Morning Hard Wood…
  10. I keep checking looking for a daily signing but nothing new…
  11. Are you actually in that business? What do you normally charge?
  12. Exact same scenario except I believe Calgary the night before instead of Vancouver. Was the night we won the Western Final and the Kracken wore those hideous “ heritage” jerseys.
  13. This could be fun. Are you proposing a weekly, what minute of the game type thing or a how many times each game or season long? Could be like the lock of the week, pick the quarter, 5 strikes and you’re out?
  14. I don't dispute that at all, I just want to know!!
  15. So are they going to announce 1 a day so that each player gets the proper attention ? The suspense is killer!!!
  16. Thank you for sharing, I had just finished reading it and came here to see if it had been shared as my eyes were to bleary to click the right button to share it.
  17. Speaking of Lawler's return, I am surprised there wasn't any chatter here about the instagram post of him picking up his new Infiiniti in Edmonton, wearing a pair of Bomber sweats. https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Fbigplay_law%2F&psig=AOvVaw2NQiWx0gPhEWJpOKs_2L-E&ust=1671120120545000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=2ahUKEwjYv8javfn7AhVFxeUKHSibAfAQ3YkBegQIABAN
  18. I grew up in this riding and owned a home there until a couple years ago. I was saddened to learn that Klein won, I think it is an indication of some of yesterdays conversation. Can the NDP offer enough candidates that people recognize and are willing to put their X beside? Jim Rondeau didn't win three terms in this riding because of the party leader, he won with hard work and dedication to his constituents. The NDP needs candidates that will mimic those actions and be in the community. I never voted for Jim but I respected the man, never have I seen anyone work so hard to serve his community in any capacity he could. I can't count how many times he volunteered to service at the Fall Suppers of many of the community churches. I wish there was a candidate of any party that was as dedicated as Jim to his constituents to vote for where I am now.
  19. Overall I like this schedule. One home game looks like I need to miss but no home games while I hope to be away in August. Montreal road game on July 1st is exciting, already sent the wife a note on that one. I wish the game in BC was any Friday but the one before Thanksgiving, might still try and make that one work as I could travel home Saturday and not mess with family dinners. Hmm...
  20. I realize this wasn't directly addressed to me but I'll offer my thoughts anyway. I was recently listening to a podcast interview or Mary Barra CEO of GM. Whenever a female CEO or leader is interviewed the topic of glass ceiling comes up, this particular interview introduced a concept referred to as Glass Cliff that I hadn't ever heard before. As I understand the gist is that men put a woman in charge when they know there is no chance of success so that she can take the failure and then they can reset with a new leader and get back to the business of being in charge. Abhorrent behavior without question but I think it fits the MB and AB premiers situations, Stefanson and Smith will be turfed after losing the unwinnable elections and will be replaced. I have no idea who replaces DS in Alberta but the one person in MB that comes to mind is Scott Fielding, left her mess of a party when they were doomed but returns from the private sector to lead them in victory in the next election. Why Wab will fail, I can't say for sure. Could he be another Glass Cliff victim but as a minority, not a woman? I just don't think he has the smarts to do the job and too much ego to listen to those that he should. Agriculture and the small business sector will be what drives this province through these tight economic times. There isn't any $$ for the NDP to court their union buddies and I can't see them being able to gather enough support for a second win.
  21. It has been a while and I don’t follow NFL at all. Is Streveler on an active roster? Has he qualified for his NFL pension?
  22. I don’t think Buck only being a year is anything of note. I’m pretty sure SOP has always been assistants for single year contracts.
  23. My concern is that they will need to be patient, much like MOS arrived here. They will need some time to assemble all the pieces on the field, not sure it can be done in one or even 2 off seasons.
  24. I first met Bob over 30 years ago, that’s who he was then and from everything thing I know about him, still who he is. If they give him the time and change the roster where he needs to they will be a very tough team to beat.
  25. I expect Coach Dyce to be creating a culture first organization. I expect he’ll try and bring FIFO to the room and I doubt that fit Benevide’s style.
