  1. Remembering Johnny Gaudreau, the family-first NHL star killed in collision (msn.com) RIP Johnny Hockey. What a terrible story, killed along with his brother by a drunk driver, the day before his sister's wedding. Just awful. That family must be devastated.
  2. Reminds me of Christian Ponder - signed with the Vikes and then thought he was the franchise, only to flame out spectacularly. Sometimes these kids live in a bubble I guess...
  3. pretty sure you didn't...lol...
  4. lol or Ted Cruz...whoops no politics but it is important to note that he was born in Calgary lol....
  5. I've been going to games at BC Place for 25 years now (missed this one due to prior commitments, unfortunately) and if you are expecting a game-day experience like Winnipeg you're going to be sorely disappointed. Yeah the announcer is part of it, yeah they aren't good on the replays etc but having been to so many games there I have to boil it down to one big element - the fans. The fans in BC aren't die hards like they are in Winnipeg, so they're not as invested in the game. A lot of times I've been to games there, even when Winnipeg isn't playing, and it will be 3rd down and one and the D is trying to make a stand. In Winnipeg everyone would be up and cheering to throw off the Offence, in BC no one even gets it that they should be cheering. I was at the 2022 West Final where we, the fans, ended up destroying Rourke at the end because he couldn't hear or be heard by his offense. That's because we have knowledgeable passionate fans, who add a ton to the game day experience. Especially when we are winning. BC place back in the day was super loud, like I'm talking back in the 1980's. I don't think they've ever gotten that back. I personally think that he jumped to the NFL too early. Should have spent another year or two here honing his skills. Instead he went at the first opportunity and flamed out. Just my opinion.
  6. Come on one of you guys win - I want a second chance to flame out!
  7. I ask the question again - who do they have at QB who is better?
  8. Have to wonder, why wouldn't a perennial failure of a team like Cleveland give this guy a roster spot? Who do they have at QB that is any better?
  9. or Alexander follows the Rourke career plan and spends the next five years on NFL practice rosters...
  10. heir apparent to Matty
  11. or replacing Glen Suitor, another palatable option.
  12. I think that we have instituted that rule in the past when we were down to the final two.
  13. Thanks to our subpar decision to let Janarion Grant go.
  14. Bluto lives another week!
  15. I'd be more scared of Andrew Harris coming in to QB the Riders than Trevor Harris...
  16. could rekindle that Cauchy - Henoc magic...lol...
  17. Yes why it took the Elks so long to put the psycho MBT on the bench and finally give Tre Ford the reins I don't know. Man it would have been nice if Walters had been able to pry him out of Edmonton when Jones was still there. "Yeah Chris, we'll give you Sheahan - I know he's a punter but you can start him at MLB - right...yes that does make sense".
  18. so what are some other ways? At the very least, you offer it and it is rebuffed. But at least then it isn't just another vacuous statement. I was working with a guy once who screwed up big time and cost the client a lot of money. In a Zoom call, the client said "so what's going to happen" and the guy said "I take full responsibility". And that was it. He didn't offer to resign, or cough up some of the dough he lost the client. Nothing. The client just said "so then what does that mean?" Clearly it meant nothing, because for some reason now you can just say these things and that's the end of it, apparently.
  19. Yeah, the term "taking responsibility" has lost all meaning these days. In the old days, it meant that you tendered your resignation. Now...it's just a hollow phrase. "I take responsibility" - Nod, smile, carry on.
  20. He threw some nice balls to contestants on the Amazing Race Canada last week.
  21. For me it depends what kind of defense shows up. If its the same one that came to play against BC, then Trevor Harris is not to be feared.
  22. Yeah pretty sure Bluto chose...wisely...
