I have the Jets book "Coming up Short" by Curtis Walker and he seems to intimate (unless my memory is failing me) that Smith deliberately talked Fergie into trading Babych to the Whalers for Ray Neufeld to sewer Fergie and take his job. Not arguing with you re competency but I wonder what Lapo could have done with the O-line, QB, receiving corp and defence that MOS has had in place for the past 4 - 5 years. Lapo had to find a way to utilize Aaron Hargreaves and Brock Ralph. We've dramatically increased our player personnel and talent acquisition since then. That being said - even with this level of talent we have now, Tim Burke would have still found a way to go 4-14 this year...lol...

^^^ Which is why I gave up on the Coach's Show on CJOB and don't bother to listen to it. I admit that I got spoiled in the Kelly year but even Lapo gave some sort of effort at more than one or two word answers to questions. Not worth listening to 45 minutes of commercials to hear zero insight on anything. But hey that's life on that front, I'll take it every day of the week if it means we get to the Cup every year.

Wilson seems to be more CFL ready to me, not sure they have room for more than one back up. Though with the way Strevy plays it won't surprise me if he gets banged up at which point we'll need another QB body at some point.
