  1. I was sure I read somewhere that he was having trouble fitting in with the Rochester team and was also not getting over the language barrier. Of course my google search to prove that I am not going crazy revealed nothing. Anyway, that's what I remember. Good to see him doing well now, and I think the point was that with Buffalo, they seem to be a developmental grave yard.
  2. too true. I can see players like Connor (who I realize wasn't part of the trade, just naming him to make a point), Roslo, Lemieux and Armia all being wasted on a team like that. Armia was definitely on a downward trajectory career-wise until we got him out of there and let him develop in a system where he felt wanted and had coaches who believed in him. He's been quite the pleasant surprise.
  3. 80 years? I am triggered right now! Leave those poor planks alone!!
  4. This might get Kane's attention.
  5. So just ask yourself this one - would the Jets right now trade Myers, Roslo, Lemieux, Armia and their draft pick for 2018 they got for Stafford for Kasdorf, Kane and Bogo?
  6. Not that amazing - not sure if we have anybody of note that is a UFA next year. And no one who is really under-performing either.
  7. Dauphin was with Arizona last year. "Every time I get out, they pull me back in".
  8. Last I saw on social media he was working at some personal trainer facility. He left there and the trail went cold. EDIT - just saw something on Facebook from the Bombers saying that it was Tom Canada's birthday on Monday. Not surprised that he was born on the same day as Elvis.
  9. when was the last time the Jets had two players at the All-Star game?
  10. Mike Vernon was obsessed with clubs and restaurants, as he was a pretty big party animal. He said Winnipeg had neither. Of course, this was 1992.
  11. I interviewed Mike Vernon for my HR class when I was going to the University of Calgary. I asked him which city he hated visiting the most in the NHL and he said "without question, Winnipeg".
  12. That first Buffalo goal was hard to watch and shouldn't have happened. I think that if a player is so tired they become a zombie, like Wheeler was on that goal, they'd be better off heading to the bench than taking a penalty. Those kind of goals can't happen in the playoffs, they will kill you.
  13. and this trade just keeps on giving - we have a draft pick in 2018 that we got from Boston for Stafford.
  14. and he was a Winnipegger!
  15. Donnelly Rhodes is dead! I won again! https://www.castanet.net/edition/news-story-215737-8-.htm#215737
  16. Sounds like the kind of guy I'd want to watch hockey and have a beer with (many beers in fact). The only time I've been to Buffalo I went to some bar and ate wings out of a bucket. The wings had a name, can't remember what they were called....
  17. ok thanks for the input on Bear, both of you guys. My only concern is if he is so good, why are my Oiler fan buddies always pitching me on taking him?
  18. yeah that makes sense - really like Dano's hands on that goal he scored yesterday. Kid has talent, just not a lot of room on this roster with all of the talent that is already there. I can't believe I am writing that.
  19. not sure why you sit Dano, given the production he is getting for the small amount of ice time he gets.
  20. I think you were talking about the Kelce hit. He got up and was doing the funky chicken all the way to the side-lines. Tyrod Taylor took two serious shots to the noggin yesterday in the Bills game. I don't know how his brains aren't scrambled right now. This is the kind of stuff that is going to end up killing football. I don't see how the game can survive long term, now that they are starting to see the brain damage effects.
  21. That hit to the head on Kelce on Saturday had me almost tossing my cookies, it was so disgusting.
