  1. yup. Loved the win in 84. Should have won in 2007 too.
  2. Wow you used Riders and "thinking" and "math" in the same sentence. That's kind of pushing it.
  3. hey man, Ogopogo is real. I've seen him a few times. Or it was a log. But I'm sure it was him.
  4. yup already can't wait for July 1st to watch Glenn crumple and turn into a dish-rag as he is steam-rolled by Nevis a few times, and then turned into sandwich meat by Ogopogo and Westerman coming around both ends.
  5. This guy should be interested then...
  6. Cab Sauv or Shiraz for me. And I don't mind my wine in the fridge for a bit before serving.
  7. Was that at the home opener vs. Montreal? Pretty sure all three of those guys walked past me on the sidelines before the game.
  8. Anyone notice how the rest of the WR are looking? Raper? Thorpe? Thera-Plamondon? Washington? Sheppard?
  9. June 3, 2017 Released: OL Dominick Jackson (I) Added to roster: WR Justice Liggins (I) Let's hope that Justice will be served now in our receiving corp.
  10. I thought we should have kept Bennett around and our 3rd stringer. Oh well.
  11. In the Vatican? Oh wait that's a different joke.
  12. seems to me there were some unintended consequences here from some people trying to do a good thing and not fully understanding the potential ramifications, including people freezing in the dark trying to get from one country to another illegally.
  13. I believe that this is what Alexander Pope would have called "damning with faint praise".
  14. so if a friend of mine gets denied access at the US border at Osoyoos because of a drug charge from 20 years ago, he should just run across the border and scream "I claim asylum"? He wouldn't get jumped on/shot by US border guards and dragged back into Canada? Interesting....
  15. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/trudeau-concerned-about-refugee-influx-in-manitoba-border-town/article33959612/ Globe and Mail uses the term in this article to describe the Emerson border jumpers as refugees. But then they are also called "asylum seekers" too. Which is it? To me there is quite a big difference.
  16. that's pretty much what I am saying. The term "Refugee" just gets applied to everyone now, even if they are just illegals who don't want to go back to the country they came from. I sympathize but I also know there are thousands of people trying to get into Canada legally, and it seems that under this system people can just walk across the border and boom they are now in. What's stopping millions more from doing just that?
  17. Fair enough - thanks for that explanation.
  18. My question wasn't really rhetorical. It would be nice to know what this is costing Canadian taxpayers. Is there not an option to turn over illegals to US immigration if they are caught trying to sneak into the country? Instead of bringing them to Winnipeg? Again not a rhetorical question.
  19. and how much are these illegal "refugees" costing taxpayers? Does anyone care?
  20. ok - well that's interesting. Are any being returned to the US after vetting? Just curious.
  21. A couple of questions though: 1. What is a "refugee" - if you are in the US legally, and then your permit or visa expires, and instead of going home as you swore that you would do after your visa expired, you stay illegally in a country, and when said country enforces its laws and sends ICE people to your door to escort you to the airport, and then you run across the border of another country, in my view you are not a "refugee". You are a criminal. 2. Doesn't this set a dangerous precedent? The US has 11 million undocumented illegals, according to what I've read. Now what if thanks to our weak PM welcoming them north, millions of people just walk across our border? Are they all "refugees"? I don't agree with that label. In Canada we're sheltered by the fact that these illegals want to stay in the US, but what happens when they start flooding Canada? Will we just accept them all? For me it's about precedent. You can't just show up here if you are illegal, and call yourself a refugee.
  22. please elaborate. I respect you a lot Mark, so I am open to more info from you on this topic. I honestly don't agree with anyone just being able to walk across our border and being given asylum with no vetting, but perhaps there is more to the story and I trust you to give me that knowledge. Thanks.
