Game 63: a VAN Down By The River
kelownabomberfan replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
way cheaper to watch live games in Buffalo than in Toronto. -
Thankfully he stunk when it mattered in 1988.

Had to do a double-take at 36:44 when I saw an old familiar face on the sidelines standing beside Urban Bowman. He must have been "handling things internally" during this game lol...
-
Dunigan and Collaros had/have the same problem - they never play their best in Grey Cup games.... Man did we have a great defense in 1992...
-
at one point in the game Don talks to John Wells about how the day before John had done the broadcast of the national Junior football championship game (I think the Regina Rams were the victors) on CBC and I was thinking - "wow, the CBC used to broadcast games like that...what happened?"

new Jets goal celebration, just for when we play the Canucks: -
I know that I was at this game: I remember how cold it was up in the upper East side stands that day, but then the sun came out and warmed us up. Interesting to see that Terry Evanshen was the color guy. In 1988 he was in a serious car accident and it wiped out his entire memory of his life, prior to the crash.

you're 40 years too late with that advice...lol...not sure how else you handle being a life long fan of our two sports teams in Winnipeg....

Nic Petan scores the Stanley-Cup winning goal in OT of game 7 against VGK, assisted by Trouba and Roslovic....wouldn't that be something.

LOL I was shocked when I saw Fred Biletnikoff on the field for Montreal, I forgot that he came out of retirement in 1980.

I've decided to watch old Bomber games wherever I can find them, as the off season continues to wear on me and I long for football. Here's my first contribution: EDIT: I am pretty sure I was at this game, as a young man, as my dad was a season ticketholder in 1980 and I was able to go to most of the games with him. The 1980 Bombers will forever be one of my favorite teams of all time.

Got this book for my birthday back in 1979 or 1980. I couldn't put it down, was one of my most prized possessions in my childhood years. -
Game 61 : Do You See What I SEA?

Addendum to the Sea Phrase: "Winnipeg Jets will be flu bug free" -
I've got the same feeling about Perfetti that I did about Jack Roslovic - has the potential to be a good player but if we can get something for him on the market that can bolster our top six then it's time to go. I don't think anyone is going to bite but we'll see. Who does Philly have that we would want? Morgan Frost?
