  1. fair enough. Not sure if Wally even tried to sign him....point is Wally moves on from players...we don't see to be able to do that...and it just cost us a ship.
  2. time to hire Wally Buono to come in with a chainsaw. He cut Bighill years ago, and here we are still draining every last ounce out of the guy. Wally never had a problem telling vets it was time to go. I just don't think O'Shea is the guy to do it. You can't really have it both ways unfortunately, being a "players' coach" and also the guy who has to make the tough calls that wind up with you looking like the bad guy. I faced that in several companies I worked at, with bad employees who needed to go. Some guys just don't have the stomach to do it, no matter what, so I always had to be the "bad guy" who had to tell Larry that his constant tardiness was a drain on morale and that he was going to have to hit the road. Guys want the "President" or "Coach" title, but they don't want the bad stuff that comes with it, that sometimes includes firing your friends. Not sure why that is because in the end by not cutting their throat you are in effect cutting your own.
  3. FRIESEN: What was Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea thinking? (msn.com) Posted this in the Grey Cup thread as well but not sure most here want to go back to that thread...lol...
  4. FRIESEN: What was Bombers head coach Mike O'Shea thinking? (msn.com) For once I can't really argue with Friesen here. He's basically just cutting and pasting content into his story from this site, from what I can see.
  5. I counted it up and I get 26 appearances since inception of the team. Then there were two appearances by the "Winnipeg RCAF Bombers" in 1942 and 1943 but not sure those count.
  6. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have made the most appearances (26), while the Toronto Argonauts have won the most championships (18) and have the best record in the Grey Cup composite standings (18-6). Despite the CFL's brief U.S. expansion era in the mid-1990s, the Grey Cup has never been played outside of Canada. The Baltimore Stallions were the only American team to appear in the Grey Cup (twice, losing in 1994 and winning the following year). List of Grey Cup champions - Wikipedia It's Wikipedia, who knows. I just don't think the Bombers have been in 30 Grey Cups, but I'll happily retract that statement if I'm wrong.
  7. I'm no math whiz but the websites I visit say the Bombers have been to 26 GC's and won 12 of them. You've got them going to 4 more GC's then I remember reading about or seeing. In my lifetime I've seen the Bombers go to 12 GC's, and win five of them. That's not great. The problem is if we had "reclaimed the Throne" we look like King Viserys from House of Dragons....time to get a lot younger, very soon.
  8. Maybe he will head back to Finland to go play with Poolparty...
  9. Me too...just kind of funny that our draft pick in 2022 ended up catching the winning TD.
  10. Yes....we traded for him....and Montreal got Tyson Philpott with the pick they got from us....who then proceeded to stick a dagger in every Bomber fan's heart with 12 seconds to go in the game yesterday....
  11. we got Lawson via trade...with Montreal of all teams.... Cameron Lawson - Wikipedia and who did Montreal take with the 9th overall pick they received from us? Tyson Philpott....argh...
  12. Seriously, this is actually pretty mild stuff comparatively. But yes, I think if we didn't start Biggie yesterday and we had run the ball on our last possession on 2nd and 8 we'd be planning the parade right now. This is why one game can make the difference. If this was a best of three, I'd say we win. But one game it is.
  13. Yeah we were commenting that thanks to that incredibly crappy punt we got the ball pretty much where the fumble occurred and we recovered the ball anyway. It didn't matter. The offense just rolled right over.
  14. yes, no shotgun formations, no deciding to throw instead of plunge forward. There were many things I was upset about yesterday but at least it appeared that the Bombers DID learn something from 2022 when it came to QB sneaks and just sticking with the plan and not deviating from it.
  15. yup no idea why they didn't run on that play. Even if you get within two yards you know Prukop is going to get the first down. He was getting three yards on every sneak all night.
  16. he still out punted the Montreal guy, who badly shanked two punts, including the last one that set us up on the 50 yard line with 3 minutes left and SHOULD have led to at least a FG and the Als with almost no time left on the clock. But here we are. If Sheahan had choked the way the Montreal guy did yeah I'd want his head. I don't mind him.
  17. That Ento kid just killed us. Heck of a player. When Fajardo took off on that 2nd and 18 I had total 2022 GC flashbacks.
  18. it used to be 2 out of 3 wasn't bad, but then inflation hit...and now it is what it is...
  19. Yes. This. As Shoresy said, our guys love to win but they don't hate to lose. You have to hate losing 10x more than you love winning. One year we finished second in Manitoba provincials in hockey. At the time I was mad we lost in the finals but yet ok with what our team accomplished. Our coach said that he took his silver medal and chucked it in the trash. He told us that's how much you have to hate to lose. I was a teenager at the time but I get it now. That being said I saw Zach at the post game presser and he was choking back tears. He hates to lose. Does everyone else hate it too?? I don't know.
  20. Next time you blink it will be training camp...we just have to keep moving forward.
  21. it does start in the afternoon for me lol....oh yeah...
  22. Willie being interviewed by Marissa Roberto on TSN - "Is sacking Cody Fajardo hard?" Willie responds "no". AH HA HAAA HAA yup.
  23. my memory is foggy but I think I might have been at that game. I hope I was.
