  1. I know Jarvenpaa wore #13 as well but I can only find pictures of him wearing #23.
  2. Teemu who. You mean "Hannu". He was #13. I don't know who this Teemu guy is you speak of.
  3. I think it's disrespectful of Tanev to wear #13 as its offensive to my favorite ever Finnish player to play for Winnipeg. Hannu Jarvenpaa must be furious right now.
  4. one day I can see Buff's daughter playing in the NHL.
  5. how much lag time is there when you go from drinking cheap wine to vanilla?
  6. grab Tkachuk at 7 and then if Chrycrun (sp?) is still there move up with the package you describe and grab him at 9 or 10.
  7. I wasn't paying enough attention at the time to be angry. All I heard when they picked Scheif was "Dale Hawerchuk advised the Jets to pick him" and that was good enough for me. What does P/60 @ even strength mean? Is that some corsi stuff? I will never get that corsi metric.
  8. The typical Brock Ralph receiving pattern.
  9. I have to say, I've really been impressed with how Copp's been playing the past few weeks. That goal last night was a beaut. Amazing what a little confidence can do for a young kid.
  10. This actually makes sense...
  11. I'm curious what's going to happen to Hutch. In my opinion I'd like to see a tandem next year of Hutch and Helle, with Pavelec playing in the KHL with Burmi and Stewart. I just hope we can get Hamonic here over the summer.
  12. I can't even imagine what the excitement level would be like if we got Matthews. Just crazy.
  13. Burmi reminds me of the Steen-Lindstrom-Lundholm line of the 1980's Jets. Lots of skill but always one move too many.
  14. Still remember Rod Black's famous line: "Teppo sets the tempo". Ugh.
  15. Kito Poblah also coming to camp apparently. He's been working out with Kamau Peterson in the off-season.
  16. Teppo was definitely the friendlier of the two.
  17. I was living in Calgary in the 1990's and one day I am in Eau Claire (downtown Calgary) and a cab pulls up and Teppo Numminen and Keith Tkachuk get out. I was in awe. I just said "It's great to meet some Winnipeg Jets in Calgary!" and they both were so happy that someone in Calgary recognized them that they hung out with me while I walked around the mall with them. One of the greatest " random meeting your sports heroes in public" days of my life. Teppo and I had a lot of fun bugging Tkachuk about the giant contract he had just signed, that was fun.
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_NHL_Entry_Draft When I look at that 1992 draft there's a whole lot of "who the hell are these guys?" going on. I don't really know who else Smith could have taken that would have been any better, other than Martin Straka and maybe Michael Peca, who went in the second round. Good get in the ninth round though - Khabby!!
  19. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/374151291.html Any chance we get Mulumba up here this year???
  20. This one is still my all time favorite. Probably because he's hitting an Oiler.
