  1. I don't think the rules are that hard and fast for this tournament. Draisaitl played in last year's tournament and he had 37 games with the Oilers under his belt by that point. The only rule seems to be to disallow NCAA player participation which is a giant failing in my opinion. The NCAA should allow for an exemption to allow NHL teams to pay their way for the NCAA kids to play in Penticton. Makes no sense that they have to buy their own airfare and pay for their own meals just to play. And even then they probably would fall afoul of some other NCAA rule. Just ridiculous. The Jets would have some major firepower if they could have Roslovic and the rest of their NCAA players playing instead of kids that are just there to fill the roster and probably won't make even Tulsa's roster.
  2. I think I can settle for that. It would be doubtful that Laine would play in that tourney anyway. Kind of like how McDavid only played one game and everyone here was mad because they'd bought Oiler tickets with the expectation of seeing him play all of the games. It would be fun to speculate who is going to be on the Jets Young Stars this year. Last year it was loaded with Helle in net, Morrissey on D, Lemieux, Ehlers, Petan, De Leo, Kosmo and a bunch of other guys I can't remember, other than Axel Blomquist who could barely skate. That team should have dominated but didn't play very well. The game I was at the only thing that kept me from falling asleep was PK Subban's brother taking a run at Ehlers and Lemieux instantly dropping the gloves and going after him. No one else did anything, but Lemieux didn't hesitate. So this year's team - Comrie in net, Connor up front, then a bunch of CHL prospects/draft picks from this year and the past few years as the NCAA guys can't attend. EDIT: http://www.coppernblue.com/prospects-3/2015/9/11/9310835/oilers-young-stars-penticton-mcdavid-how-to-watch-flames-canucks Here were the rosters from last year's tourney. Andrew Copp was also playing for Winnipeg. So was Jan Kostalek.
  3. Get drafted second overall and winning rookie of the year Stanley Cup can come when he's 20.
  4. There's a hockey name that strikes fear in the hearts of opponents.
  5. Yeah he's heading for Ryan Getzlaff territory.
  6. not sure who is doing that. Ok we don't need another Blake Wheeler, we need an Ovechkin. Now you are going to tell me people are comparing Puljujarvi to Ovechkin right?
  7. Well, after going for beers again with my Finnish buddy yesterday I actually do care a lot who the Jets take. I honestly don't buy what you are peddling here that Laine and Puljujarvi are close. Talking to an actual Finnish hockey fan, he says that its not close at all. He doesn't think Puljujarvi even plays in the NHL next year, while Laine is ready to step into top 6 on any team in the NHL right now. I told him about this one poster who keeps saying that he doesn't care who the Jets take and that Pulju and Laine are almost the same and he laughed his head off. Laine is the biggest hockey story to hit Finland since Teemu Selanne. Could be even bigger than Teemu one day, if that's even possible. Chevy would lose his job if he took anyone but Laine at 2. It's not even a discussion.
  8. Laine should count. Unless of course the Leafs take him first overall.
  9. Really happy to see Laine on Team Finland.
  10. According to my Finnish buddy Patrik Laine cut his hair yesterday, and it was the number one story in Finland. Finland is Laine crazed right now.
  11. Yes a diddly do!
  12. nope. Lost it on a game ending FG from Mccallum. http://www.cfl.ca/games/1849/bc-lions-vs-winnipeg-blue-bombers/
  13. mostly because he has the same name as the lead singer of Def Leppard.
  14. Still remember Joey Elliot coming off the field and throwing his helmet down in disgust in a game against the Lions because Lapo called a draw on a second and five just so he could get the field goal, rather than take a risk to get the first down and go in for score. Then we ended up losing the game on a FG by BC on the last play of the game. That was Lapo's last game as HC.
  15. Joe Thornton agrees with you.
  16. we have two Puljujarvi's already. Which is awesome, but we need another Blake Wheeler (on steroids).
  17. five starters on offence should help. Like to see six though, with 4 NI hogs on the OL. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned.
  18. My Rockets aren't there this year but congrats to the West Kelowna Warriors for taking the RBC Cup. Great run this year guys!
  19. lots of ads for sure. Pulujarvi sure is fast, looks a lot like Connor and Ehlers. I'd rather go with Laine - different kind of player.
  20. Columbus will be lucky to have him.
  21. 2nd overall for Goligoski and Benn!
  22. Is he waiting on an NFL try-out? I don't understand why no one would want a ratio-breaker linebacker. I'd rather have Henoc than Hurl, at least I think I do, unless I am missing something?
