Craig Button just predicted in his mock draft on TSN that the Jets take Tkachuk with the 4th overall pick. He has Chycrun not going until 8th.

Chychrun does look like a good one. Can't see how we lose if we draft either. If this LHD is the biggest need (not sure that it is) then yes, grab Chychrun. If Edmonton grabs him, go for Tkachuk.

I was just watching TSN Trade preview and Kris Russell is listed as available from the Flames. Could the Jets be after him? I know he shoots left, if that matters at all. http://flames.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8471729 If the Jets got this guy, could that fill this supposed LHD hole and therefore mean they could go after Tkachuk? I would hope so. I'd love to see a line with Lowry, Lemieux and Tkachuk.

yeah I think they could have used Stemp this year. Even if it was for the fourth line. Sure would have been better than Thorburn or Peluso.

how is a goal-scoring forward not needed on the Jets? Or any team for that matter? I don't get it. Just take the best player available and leave the worrying about RHD/LHD to people who want to buy into that nonsense.

I just read the rules for 2016 and the worst placed team can only fall as far as 4th, so if it's Toronto, they will end up with at minimum of the 4th overall pick, which would still make me laugh. So if the Jets pick 4th you can bet Matthews will be gone, and Laine as well, so do we go for Tkachuk? And not just for sentimental reasons?

Since I have seen little to make me think that Dano has any ceiling you are damning Crouse with faint praise here. I liked what I saw of Crouse at the World Juniors.

man so much Dano love. This guy is a minor-leaguer! Let's see him actually do something before we anoint him as some kind of skill player. I saw less out of him today than Burmi.
