But to see a 31 year old veteran player do that, just stupid and low brow. Laine's reaction was great though, just shook it off, sucked it up and came back out flying. Love to see that.

That's not really a fair assessment though as we never had any draft picks in that era.

I trust Chevy's judgment so I am not saying "it has to be Laine" but I'd want to know the reasoning as to why if it's Puljarvi or one of the other top prospects instead of Laine at #2.

I do care who they take and I want them to take Laine. I am totally jazzed to see him on the point on our PP next year. Could be just smokin' awesome.

I am very happy that we got number 2 instead of one. Matthews is going into a pressure-cooker, Laine into a much more welcoming and patient environment where he will be a cog in a much bigger machine. Not sure Matthews would fit in as well in that role as Laine.

yeah remember the video of Armia scoring the shoot-out goal and then riding his stick afterwards at the World Juniors? These guys are still just kids, tough to remember that...but that being said, I don't want any me-first guys that don't understand the responsibilities of being a pro, which include dealing with fans and being good PR guys for the team, inside and outside of the rink.

This Laine kid looks like the real deal. I hope he's got a good head on his shoulders.
