  1. Here's another guy that has been sent death threats for his advocating for nuclear power. George Monbiot is as big a global warming believer as they come, and he's also so far left that he makes Fidel Castro look like Ted Cruz. Yet he thinks nuclear power is a good idea, and because of that he has been the target of a lot of crazy people wishing him harm. Just unbelievable the level of paranoia about nuclear energy. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/28/arrested-myself-supporting-nuclear-power-george-monbiot
  2. Careful, you might get death threats for telling the truth about nuclear power, like Dr. Cullen did.
  3. Too many completely made-up stories. And therein lies the problem. The fear-mongering about nuclear power is off the charts, and it's almost completely unwarranted. Especially since people are still telling stories from the 1960's and 1970's. If people stopped traveling by air because a few planes crashed, then no one would ever have found safer ways to build airplanes. Yet more people were killed in that Russian plane crash on the weekend then have ever been directly killed by nuclear power.
  4. I really hope on March 5th when the wimp-ass Canadien Cry-babies come to town we really let those bums have it. And if the Jets go up by a few goals, I hope the fans do the Nah nah nah hey hey chant like the Montreal fans were doing for the last half of the "turd" period last night. Screw those bozos.
  5. This kind of pissed me off: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/canadian-researcher-targeted-by-hate-campaign-over-fukushima-findings/article27060613/ The paranoia about nuclear power really is regrettable, and makes people do stupid things.
  6. if the QB is in the pocket, two hand touch counts as a tackle. Otherwise, not sure what else to do. NFL QB injuries seem to be a lot lower, look at how little of Tom Brady's career has been lost due to injury. Why is that?
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Airlines_Flight_611 Here's the info on the China Airlines flight. It took 22 years for the repair of the tail strike to fail.
  8. The Sinai is not considered a war zone, at least, not since 1973. The Russians may be trying to save face instead of saying that it was shoddy maintenance that caused this crash. Apparently this plane was involved in a tail strike in 2001 in Cairo when the back-end hit the runway. There are several documented cases of planes that suffered tail strikes breaking up in mid-air many years later, including a Japan Airlines plane and a China Airlines plane. Tail strikes can be a real maintenance issue as the damage they do can be hard to detect. Needless to say I would never want to fly on a plane that had suffered a tail strike.
  9. As long as they don't hire that pee in the cup guy they should be all right.
  10. I don't think that we need a PM reality show, but a celebrity renovator would be interesting to at least contemplate. It would be a connection to the PM and I don't see how that's a bad thing. Kind of like this Rick Mercer bit he ran with Harper:
  11. yikes, this game is making me yearn for a Bomber game to watch...
  12. Yeah I have a point, Bucko. I am saying you don't have a clue what security costs, and your entire opinion is politically biased. I am basing that on all of the bullshit you've posted about Harper in the past. But really who cares. The election is over, and I would hate to sound "pissy". Well, you're wrong..again.Just a simple statement on my part about the expense of transporting the vehicles. That's it. Doesn't matter who was the PM. You just want to spin something, wrong or not. But you're still pissed that your boy lost the election and that he lost because all that "bullshit" was true. Oh well. I'm sure when the PM or President or other world leaders travel abroad they'd be able to rent or borrow armoured limos. But there is a reason they always prefer to use their own. And it's pretty obvious. Begrudging a leader his full security detail because it's not the party you support is small minded and petty. I'm sure the prince will fly coach and insist on driving his own smart car when he travels. You use the word "always" as if it is standard procedure. I challenge you to find another instance were they transported a limo for a previous PM to use in a foreign country. I'm pretty sure I remember they used to fly around armored cars for Mulroney back during his tenure. Of course, that was before the days of the internet so I couldn't find anything in a Google search. I did find this article though: http://www.pressreader.com/canada/windsor-star/20121107/281711201915365/TextView From the sounds of the article, the RCMP threat assessment made the call to fly the limos over to India. If the RCMP is telling you that you need armored cars, then what do you do? Tell them to stick it? I don't know. Just seems to me to be crying over spilt milk.
  13. If you want to post lies and utter bullshit about Harper, or anyone for that matter, be prepared to be called a jack-arse! That's just how I roll. If you don't like it, don't read my posts. And better yet, don't post a bunch of bullshit. I don't think I called you a loon for posting all of that legal baffle-gab about the niquab. If I did I apologize.
  14. Except that it wasn't true, and you made a complete fool of yourself, by posting such utter bullshit. That's the point. Harper deserved to lose, and he's not "my boy". I will be just as adamant if next election, you post a bunch of total bullshit about Trudeau. Speaking of which: Here's Trudeau trick or treating yesterday with his wife and kids. I think it's pretty cool, that we have a leader who dresses up and goes out with his kids, even though this was no doubt a staged photo-op. How cool would it be to go to your door to give out candy, and there's the prime minister with this kids? Now, if I was a partisan jack-arse like you, I'd complain about how it cost the taxpayers money for him to go trick or treating, because they would have had to have an RCMP detail following, and probably clearing houses in advance to ensure that the new PM wasn't going into some sort of security risk. But I won't do that, because I think it's important that he and his kids get to live a normal life, and the parents get to enjoy their kids at this age, including participating in Halloween fun. Anything else would be un-Canadian.
  15. Yeah I have a point, Bucko. I am saying you don't have a clue what security costs, and your entire opinion is politically biased. I am basing that on all of the bullshit you've posted about Harper in the past. But really who cares. The election is over, and I would hate to sound "pissy". When I was working up in Terrace and Chretien was the PM, he spent the entire month of July in his summer getaway in Masset, in the Queen Charlotte Islands. The security detail and costs were enormous for him to be there, and communications alone were a huge challenge. At least, from what I was told by people who were part of the detail and planning at the Masset airport. But you know what, as much as I couldn't stand Chretien, I didn't begrudge him that protection, or the cost. It is what it is.
  16. I just asked the question - are you an expert on foreign security? If not, how the hell would you know if the cost is ridiculous or not?
  17. That sounds ridiculous. There must be other ways to provide security for a visiting dignitary. Or maybe the invitation was B.Y.O.A.V. Of course, you are giving this opinion purely as an educated expert on security in foreign locales and not due to any political bias.
  18. So it's cool to call Harper every name under the sun, but if its an organization that you like then you can't call them names? Is that what you are saying? I really don't like the Sierra Club. Sorry, but I don't. And peddling "zero-energy" is just a huge lie. Kind of like saying that Harper cut $36 billion from health care spending.
  19. On a lot of other political boards I visit, it was a thing, all right. I was actually shocked and disgusted by it. More shocked and disgusted than usual with the anti-Harper crowd.
  20. Exactly. I'm one of the most anti-Mulcair people ever, but I don't blame him one second if he was cowering in a closet and whimpering in fear while shots were being fired only a few feet away. Until we've all been in that situation, none of us can judge.
  21. I always asked the people that called Harper a coward for hiding in a closet (is this even true?) - where were Mulcair and Trudeau at the same time? Given Justin's horrible attendance record, was he even in the building that day? And why is Harper a coward but Mulcair not if Mulcair was hiding too? The truth is, all the politicians should have been hiding. Otherwise, they'd just be in the way and provide targets for the deranged lunatic. The only people that should have been outside of hiding were people with guns, trained in what to do should a nutbar break in and start shooting. That's it. Why people picked on Harper just showed to me how some people were willing to latch on to just about anything to try and denigrate him.
  22. I am all for making the residence more energy efficient, but I have to laugh whenever the eco-loons talk about "net zero-energy" house. Ok - so how do solar panels and wind turbines get built again? Using fairy dust?
  23. Good to see after all that a loony tune can still walk into Parliament and start shooting people. All I know is it's likely Harper's fault......................
  24. Good to see after all that a loony tune can still walk into Parliament and start shooting people.
  25. Some lunatic broke into the PM's residence back in the Chretien days. Chretien's wife shut the bedroom door and that foiled his whole plan, whatever it was. The RCMP were immensely embarrassed by the whole situation.
