Bombers "close to" deal with Dressler
Addison Richards excluded of course. He's game breaker material if I ever saw it.

Blue Jays
yeah I always liked how he said he was going to go to a bush party to celebrate after every win. Fan favorite for sure.

U.S. Federal Election
I agree when it comes to presidents who are comedians, Obama is definitely better at being a comedian than a president.

refuse or we'll trade you and then send you to the minors. Oh wait, they did that.

I think blaming "greed" is a bit too simplistic. Every other major sport has an All-Star game, including the NFL. If the NHL doesn't have one they look pretty lame. In the "old" days of only even 20-30 years ago, there was a "purse" to be won by the winning team, and given a lot of players were playing for only a few hundred K a year or less the purse was worth playing for. Nowadays everyone is a mega-millionaire and so they really could care less about winning the game, no matter what the purse is. You knew Gordie Howe would go out there and elbow everyone in the head just because he wanted to win, even if there was no prize money. And that's why old-timey All-Star games were actually worth watching, because the players were trying. Those days are long gone. Last season I turned off the game in disgust, especially when the announcers started talking to players while they were out on the ice, huffing and puffing into their microphones. It was a nice try to make a really dull game more interesting, but it failed miserably. If you have fan voting, the fans should be given a slate of options of who to vote for, rather than just being allowed to vote for anyone, including career fringe players. Next year let's get Patrice Cormier into the All-Star game. Awesome.

Ladd and Buff
I'd like to know how everyone knows who everyone else is friends with, and why that matters.

Game 46 : Avs @ Jets
looking at the Moose roster, there's not a lot jumping out there in terms of point production. De Leo is one of the highest scorers, but that's not saying much.

Star Wars: Spoiler Thread Discussion
anyone else see the "Undercover Boss" skit with Kylo Ren going undercover on the Starkiller base on SNL last night? Adam Driver was the guest. Well worth watching.

Game 44 : Predators @ Jets
Yeah I saw him on the bench. Still remember when he asked the City of Winnipeg to guarantee his contract as he didn't want to sign long-term in Winnipeg with the finances being so precarious. Oh the good old days...

You can't be a goal suck anymore in the NHL as it exists today. You have to play both ways or you are toast.

Game 44 : Predators @ Jets
that was a hell of a pass...reminded me of the old Housley to Selanne days...

Buff or Trouba
If somehow Enstrom and Burmistrov are gone and Hamonic is on our D then at the end of the day I'll be happy. Throw in some picks if that's what it takes.

Game 44 : Predators @ Jets
he seems to be getting more confidence every game, and trying new stuff. I remember with Selanne, we had to wait for his military service to end before he could play in the NHL so he was what, 21 or 22 when he arrived here? Imagine how much Ehlers is going to progress in that time. He reminds me of Pavel Bure with the speed and sneakiness he has. He just needs to get a bit bigger and gain more experience. The upside is big on this one.

Buff or Trouba
Trade Enstrom. Done.

I really feel for the CFL import players, basically getting paid in Canadian pesos.

I can't believe the Kings did that kind of contract for Brown. He's a good leader, I guess, but not much of a point producer. Last season his wife was on "Hockey Wives" and she definitely doesn't get the reality that is most players' lives in the NHL. Brown has definitely lead a charmed NHL life compared to players with similar talent to him.

All I heard when he was with the Canucks was what a drama queen he is, sounds like a guy with a lot of talent and also a lot of off-ice problems. I expect him to disappear and then I'll flip on TSN next Christmas and see that he's playing in the Spengler Cup for HC Davos. That's the only reason I watch the Spengler Cup, to play "Where are they now". Derek Roy was the big surprise this year, I thought he was still somewhere in the NHL.

SHARKS AT JETS JAN. 12, 2016
The Jets this year have replaced clean hard hitting with chippy stick work and cheap shots, and thus are taking way more stupid and costly penalties. I don't know what is going on with Tyler Myers. In Phoenix he took a terrible penalty. He just skated up to a guy and punched him in the head. And bang, OEL scores on the ensuing PP. Just dumb dumb dumb.

Is this actually verified or just your opinion? I could see why they would say no, but just curious if it is verified. How about we throw in Chase DeLeo too?

The glass is half empty, the glass is half full, the mid-season report card
If Ladd is injured, he needs to take a few weeks off and let it heal. Better that the spot be filled by someone who is 100% healthy than Ladd at 60% (and that's being generous).

a lot of players have sports psychologists. I still remember walking by the visitor's dressing rooms here in Kelowna between periods and Scotty Upshall was out in the hallway getting a pep talk from his own personal sports psychologist. This is while he's playing in the WHL.
