  1. The only guy on the Canucks who showed any talent was Virtanen. Otherwise yeah, they were just a bunch of schlubs. I thought Ehlers would skate rings around them but he didn't. Lemieux, Petan and Ehlers played together a lot and really did nothing. Copp and Kosmachuk had more chemistry, at least they had a few chances.
  2. Blomquist should have been a defenceman. Imagine him and Myers on the ice at the same time? No one would be able to get past the blue line as with their wingspans they cover almost the entire width of the ice.
  3. Moore is good, but every time he gets tackled I get the same feeling as I used to get with Corey Watson. We need more durable receivers. There have to be some out there, especially now with all of the NFL cuts. Bring in a few right now for the P/R and plan for them to replace Moore next year.
  4. Nichols reminds me of Tommy Burgess. Not flashy or upwardly mobile but extremely accurate and makes good decisions. The 1990 Bombers just needed a QB who didn't turn over the ball a lot and who got them enough points for their dominating defence to win them games. The second half of that game on Saturday reminded me a lot of the way the 1990 team won games. Khalil Bass just needs to morph into Greg Battle, and we're set!
  5. Yeah good points. I was wondering why the NCAA guys weren't there. One guy that was funny to watch was Axel Blomquist. He just towers over everyone out there, but he doesn't hit anybody. He's a 6ft7inch Swede who plays like a 5'6 Russian. I still expected a bit more out of DeLeo and Petan playing together - they should have had some chemistry, and other than one set up and shot by Petan it wasn't there. Petan also does this thing where he wheels away from the net after the shot, meaning he takes himself out of the play should there be a rebound. Bad habit. Ehlers is fast but didn't do much other than a few break-outs that didn't even lead to shots, and other than getting clobbered behind the net by Subban. Lemieux jumped in and took his gloves off to go after Subban but of course Subban wouldn't fight him. I wonder where he learned that move?
  6. pretty disappointing game. Looked more like two teams playing shinny out there rather than a "young stars classic". No one on the Jets really stood out, though I guess Ehlers and Copp looked ok, without actually doing much. There were a few guys out there for Winnipeg that I had never heard of like Fronk (?) and Serville (?). Anyway, Petan had a few chances, but I also didn't like watching him dogging it to the bench on changes. Vancouver one time was surging up the ice on a three on two and Petan was leisurely cruising back to the bench, delaying the ability of the change to come on to even up the 3-2. I was not impressed. Weak effort all around I felt. McDavid not being there didn't effect me as I'm not going to the Oilers game. After that game, I don't think I'll be going again next year either.
  7. I still can't get that image of Nichols' foot pointing backwards out of my head.
  8. Right now I would say the Bombers have a better chance of signing Tim Tebow than Muamba so it's a moot point to me.
  9. Lirim still has NFL stars in his eyes. This year has been a big wake up call for him. Medlock is finally playing well now that he has given up the NFL crap and is making a career in the CFL. Lirim needs to do the same.
  10. Going to the game tomorrow. Looking forward to it.
  11. Yeah, that's like saying smoking is bad for you. I actually heard someone say that yesterday. What an idiot!
  12. If you are an NDP, you can do no wrong. Ever.
  13. That just makes you from Regina.
  14. I'm still waiting on my 76 Pinto.
  15. Beer in cans? What's next? Meat on a stick?
  16. it will never catch on - just like the horseless carriage - Henry Ford is wasting his time.
  17. You mean Jeb? Because he actually is. You failed this one. Jeb is running for the Republican nomination, not President...yet. To the consternation of all sane people, the leading Republican candidate is..........Donald Trump. And to the glee of all insane people, the leading Democrat candidate is...Bernie Sanders.
  18. Yes, and it's more than a shitload. It's more like shitshitshitload. Then, of course there the greenhouse effect of transporting the water, and waste water, to and from facilities. There's a greenhouse effect from transporting water? Really?
  19. This nerd just called and said he's starting up some kind of software company and get this, he's calling it "micro-soft" or something. What a stupid name. He asked me for $1,000 for 20% of the company and I told him to stick it. Everyone knows the money in computers is in hardware! Like...duh!!!!
  20. What? Tom Clements retired???
  21. Trudeau thinks small businesses are just a way for wealthier Canadians to save on their taxes Last night, CBC’s Peter Mansbridge asked Liberal leader Justin Trudeau where he stood on reducing taxes for small businesses. In his shocking answer, Trudeau showed how out of touch he is when he said that many small businesses are just tax avoidance scams. It isn’t difficult to understand how he has come to this very negative view of what businesses are if you review the financial disclosure he produced when he became an MP. It shows a dizzying array of numbered holding companies with impressive executive titles for Trudeau that don’t really have any responsibilities attached to them. Not surprising really since the last Trudeau that had to work for a living was his grandfather. This trust fund kid has spent all his time traveling, even telling one interviewer that he has already visited over 90 countries in his life. Perhaps we can give him some points for honesty though since in his limited experience, corporations are exactly how he described them — a way for trust fund kids to avoid paying taxes. It’s just unfortunate for the rest of us that this man who would be Prime Minister, has no idea how hard the rest of us work.
  22. Liberals now in first place, NDP falling fast. http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/poll-tracker/2015/index.html
  23. So who, other than Maude Barlow, is saying that there are way less regulations? And who should the government have appointed to the federal agency, a night janitor at Walmart? Elizabeth May? David Suzuki?
