I think its soon. But why isnt it a good idea if naming of other Airports after PM's is okay? If they can name the airport in Montreal after that massive arsehole Trudeau then Harper should get an airport too. But yeah, wait 10 years or so.

Around the NHL
Kane and Bogo are not the guys I want mentoring Eichel either.

All I can say is, from some of the things I've heard, glad he's in Buffalo. Same goes for Kane. Talk about a fleecing.

Canadian Politics
Very disrespectful. He's the friggen Prime Minister (or about to become). I hated it when PM Harper was personally attacked and I hate it when it's JT. Respect the position. It defeats the argument. Now its entirely possible what this person is saying is true about Trudeau being "dumb". I dont know him. But thats a poor way to make a point. I agree. Just like the nuts and loons attacked Harper with mostly made up gibberish and out-right lies, this video is disgraceful in the same way. I am all for criticism, but let it be fact-based. Attacking Trudeau before he's even sworn in is just sour grapes, I am afraid.

Yeah so what. It's no different than the package that any MP who had served as long as Ron would receive. Why are you picking on Ron?

Game 8: Wild@Jets
Not a chance. Just looking at the Moose roster, I forgot about JC Lipon. He would be a good addition to that line, tough but also has some skills. Thorbs is an anchor weighing down the two young kids. They need more speed.
-
Game 8: Wild@Jets
or Armia? More likely somebody from the Moose gets a shot first. Armia should be faster and more skilled than Thorbs. Of course, that's not a very high bar.

Game 8: Wild@Jets
I liked the nickname Beyak came up with for Scheif's line, "the Leftovers". Because Maurice had made the other lines already and didn't know what to do with these three guys, so they just got thrown together, like you do with leftovers in the fridge, suddenly you are eating spaghetti, pizza and fried chicken at the same time, and it just tastes good. I like the name. I hope it catches on.

Game 7: Lightning @ Jets
Same reason Buffalo traded a lot of good players the last couple of years. They wanted the #1 pick. how did that work out for them? Anyway, CBJ appears to be falling apart. Time to get in on the feeding frenzy.
-
Game 7: Lightning @ Jets
Why would CBJ hire Torts? Why would Buffalo trade Tyler Myers? I'd be calling Columbus and seeing if they'd be interested in Ladd. See what I could get. Worth a shot.

Game 7: Lightning @ Jets
Stupid Ladd fell down. He shouldn't be out on 3-3's.

Canadian Politics
Yup, very American way of doing things. I remember from the West Wing, they called them "Christmas Tree" bills, because everyone gets to hang a decoration on it in order to lend their support.

Blue Jackets Fire Todd Richards, Hire John Tortorella
I hope Ryan Johansen and Foligno are in great shape because they are going to be playing 40 minutes a night now.

I liked the story in the National Post today about JT launching a complete over-haul of Bill C-51. He's making it much more Canadian, in terms of reviewing every aspect and asking for input and consensus from a lot of interested parties, rather than the Harper method of just ramming it down everyone's throat in an omnibus bill. Good start anyway.

Is there any way Estrada can pitch game 6 and 7 too?

Back To The Future Day
hard to believe that in 1989 when I watched that movie I honestly thought a lot of that stuff would be invented by now. Flying cars - why haven't those happened yet?
-
Blue Jackets Fire Todd Richards, Hire John Tortorella
yikes, talk about taking cyanide to cure a headache...just ridiculous. Torts is the worst coach in the NHL right now. Hiring an underling would have been so much smarter than this.

Edmonton Oilers LOL (perhaps Calgary Flames LOL)
I'd hate to see the Oilers in a slump? The story so far for me is how much the Ducks and Flames are sucking.

Election 2015
I don't know who wrote this, but it is kind of funny...

Election 2015
Exactly. But apparently if that one party is the Conservatives, they need over 50% or the election isn't fair. For some reason no other party is held to this standard, and its mystifying why that is (not really actually).
-
Election 2015
To be fair, in a three party (more) system .. a single party getting 40% of the vote is an incredible accomplishment and a solid mandate to be sure. The government is only illegitimate if it gets under 40% of the vote but is conservative. If it gets under 40% of the vote but is not conservative, then its an overwhelming expression of support by the entire country. Ready. Set. GO! Yeah, I've been having a blast cutting and pasting quotes from anti-Harperites on other forums I visit where they were screaming and gnashing their teeth after the 2011 election because it was so unfair that Harper was only elected with 39% of the popular vote, and "61% of Canadians didn't vote for him". For some reason they all are silent after JT essentially did the same thing. It's been hilarious.

Election 2015
This made me laugh as I was totally expecting this. Of course Trudeau can be "hands off" with the media, especially right now, because they are just going to lob him softballs and extol his virtues, which is the same exact treatment his daddy got. You guys can bash me for this (and I know you will) but the media treats the Conservatives and the NDP/Liberals differently. I've seen it with my own eyes (and please don't ask me for specific examples). Trudeau can be a media darling because they'll give him tons of leeway, and aren't asking "gotcha" questions that they loved asking the Conservatives. Now that being said, if the media does turn on him eventually (except for the CBC, who will be loyal and in love with JT until doomsday) then we'll see if he starts getting more Harperish in how he controls his message. That will be interesting. Ok one example - I just remembered this: http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/07/16/john-baird-cbc-journalist-reporter-gaza_n_5592756.html Will Trudeau be asked a question this stupid by the CBC? I highly doubt it. And this is an example of the kind of crap the Conservatives had to deal with every day. I don't agree with the controlling of the message, but I do see why it was done.
