  1. I was going to bring that up. So the refs blow it and call the Paredes convert good when it clearly missed, so thankfully it gets taken back by the Command Center on review and now it's 16-15 Bombers. Then on the next play, Paredes kicks it off and the ball goes over Stouds head and is rolling quickly out of the back of the end zone. Instead of just letting it roll out, Stouds picks it up and walks out the back of the end zone, thus conceding a single point, for absolutely no reason whatsoever. If he had just let the ball roll out on its own, no point. I get that LH missing the convert was big, but if Stouds had just let the ball roll out on that kick-off, Calgary wouldn't have gotten a point. It was just stupid. I was yelling at the TV "NO!!!!" when he picked it up two yards from the end line as it was rolling out. My father in law, the Lions fan, who never misses a chance to rub it in, said "Winnipeg coaches need to tell their kick returners about the rules on kick-offs. Clearly that guy doesn't get it." I just sighed. Something I've become very good at over the years. Stouds just committed too many stupid mistakes in that game. Veltung has my vote as the kick returner going forward.
  2. Stoudemire. Yikes. Just brutal.
  3. Veltung starts that game over Stoud and we win it. No doubt in my mind.
  4. I find youtube links will only imbed if I post in old mode, ie - I have to hit that first icon at the very top left hand corner that looks like a grey square. Otherwise it doesn't imbed.
  5. Chamblin live right now on riderville.com....
  6. Buster Rhymes! From the where are they now file: He apparently was the inspiration for rapper Busta Rhymes. Weird eh?
  7. I still remember how a bunch of fans contributed to paying Lapo's fine via some fund-raising website.
  8. http://www.riderville.com/riderslive so sweet....
  9. yikes 0-4 to start the year for the Riders if the game keeps going this way. When was the last time this happened to the Riders? Man the Riders just keep shooting themselves in the foot with these penalties. Just brutal.
  10. I met his Dad once years ago. He was a funny guy and really well liked. Does that help with the pain at all? Rod Black didn't deserve a happy childhood. Imagine being his kids. Dad still calls you "sticky" because of something you did in your diaper 17 years ago.
  11. I believe the Japanese have something called seppuku you may want to look into...they invented it just for such situations.
  12. Paul Bennett. Got you 4 yards every punt return. Like clock work.
  13. Spread for who though? EDIT - I see it's Calgary who is heavily favored. Makes sense.
  14. If It wasn't for Austin always shrieking, swearing and waving his arms like a lunatic on the sidelines, I'd probably actually like Hamilton a bit.
  15. Knowing Calgary weather as I do, just because it's 25C at the start of the game doesn't mean you won't need to have your parka at the ready by the end of the 3rd quarter...
  16. This will be me if we can actually pull of a win in the victory morgue that is Edmonton.
  17. That's from Steve Daniel: http://www.cfl.ca/article/cflca-game-notes-a-look-at-week-4 Bit of a boo boo by the CFL's Head Statistician. Isn't Toronto playing five on the road to start 2015? The CFL is trying to say the Argo's playing in Ft McMurray (a mere 3800 km's away from their normal home) against Edmonton (440 km's away) counts as a home game. Right. But realistically and in reality, the Argos are having to play five games on the road to start the season. That's pretty freaking hard.
  18. We had a few things going for us in that game - Cornish got hurt and left the game early. Marve also came in for Willy and started moving the ball where Willy was doing nothing, and limited turnovers to zero, while Calgary was fumbling all over the field. I don't think we can count on Cornish getting injured again, or the Stamps fumbling the game away. But yes, anything is possible. The last game I was at in Calgary where the Bombers won was 2001, and Khari and the boys kicked some major butt. What a fun team that was to watch.
  19. Bo Levi looked a lot better in the Toronto game, after crapping the bed against Montreal. So we'll have to see which BLM shows up this game. It's a short week, new O-line...coming off a big win...but then I remember, this is Calgary, aka Death Valley...
  20. it's not even a matter of being that good... if teams kicked to him 3 or 4 times a game I believe he might have a shot at getting at least 10... but as Mtl showed last night, teams have already stopped kicking to him... Not sure how old you are. Gizmo was the most explosive kick returner I've ever seen, bar none. Kicking away from him was just basic smart football. He turned a lot of games around for the Esks. IMHO Banks doesn't compare at all. Pinball in his day was no slouch either.

  22. I'm not too sure on this. I think Forde is settling in to the role of Rod's Straight Man. I am pretty sure he fed Rod the "Green Hornet & Cato" line a few plays before the TD. yeah he did. My forehead was already sore from constant face-palming by that point.
  23. A real testament to how things have changed...
