  1. This negotiation with the Ti-Cats was his biggest success since his lawsuit against the Never-Ending Story.
  2. https://twitter.com/Blitz_Turner/status/621695174972829697/photo/1 This picture was apparently taken last night at the Pony Corral, per Bryant Turner's tweet. No cast on his hand, so that's a good sign. Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming No cast on BT's injured hand, which is a positive sign. He's likely out a couple weeks. #Bombers https://twitter.com/Blitz_Turner/status/621695174972829697 …
  3. was Sears hurt almost immediately afterwards?
  4. ahem. We are CFL fans...so we'll be loyal to our sponsors... in 2014 I had to have a triple bypass because I had eaten 4000 baconators in July alone.
  5. We had a terrible case here in BC where John Furlong, the former CEO of the Vancouver Olympics, was wrongfully accused of sexual abuse in residential schools in the 1960's. It turns out the three accusers weren't even at the school when Furlong was there, but all of this came out much later after Furlong was dragged through a long trial. How does this stuff happen? Why? http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/john-furlong-accusations

  7. Yeah the Entourage vibe comes from having Mark Wahlberg as the producer. Its very like the Entourage as well in that they have guest stars from the NFL (current and past players and coaches) playing versions of themselves, much like Entourage has a lot of movie stars playing themselves, and as Entourage was supposed to be a glimpse of sorts into how Hollywood works this show is supposed to be a glimpse into how the NFL operates, including contract negotiations etc. I like it, it's pretty funny, and the Rock is pretty good in his role as a newly retired NFL player trying to become a financial manager while dealing with his past concussion history and lingering pain/painkiller addiction, and also trying to retain a shred of integrity. I highly recommend it to football fans. The slam on Saskatchewan was the first CFL reference I've seen so far, but I expect a few more. What is funny is that the Rock actually played for Calgary in 1995. He attended training camp. He wasn't good enough to make the team. He played for two months in 1995 and then was cut from Calgary's P/R, according to what I have found. His dad is Canadian, wrestler Rocky Johnson, and the Rock has dual Canadian/US citizenship. I did not know that. Under current CFL rules, if he played in the CFL, the Rock would be considered a National player. The Rock in 1995 with Calgary:
  8. I knew there was something fishy about that guy. His card was also a sponge.

  10. The way Greaves was getting bulldozed and turn-styled last game I wouldn't be surprised if he's sitting this week.
  11. I put this is one thread already, but it is appropriate for this one as well...
  12. Maybe Rennie Curran has offered McCoil a partnership in his motivational speaking business. I also am frustrated with the CFL losing players to NFL practice rosters. Its a sad state of affairs to see players leave for more money to just sit and do nothing in the NFL. All you have to do is watch HBO's "Ballers" to see what US players think of the CFL, as if we didn't already know.
  13. Vancouver is going to be the new Edmonton in the West. I can't wait to see that bandwagon implode. It already was imploding last year as people couldn't give their tickets away. With Miller and the Sedins sucking down a ton of cap space, that team doesn't have much room to maneuver. The Sedins gotta go.
  14. I appreciate you for going to practice and sharing this knowledge with us. I dunno... I figure Friesen will be there and offer excellent examination of what happens at practice... why would I need anyone else Don't forget Wiecek too.
  15. randy turner ✔ @randyturner15 Multiple choice: The Kesler contract will work if... A) Kesler stays healthy. B ) The cap goes to $250 M. C) Kesler is Benjamin Button.
  16. I had to venture over to the other board to find him and bring him back...the sacrifices we make around here...
  17. I appreciate you for going to practice and sharing this knowledge with us.
  18. This year?
  19. anyone have any issues with picking Cornish given the Stamps are without their two starting tackles this week? Oh wait, Calgary plays Winnipeg this week. Never mind...
  20. what's the low-down? What happened?
  21. this will make me less mad that it's WEEK 4 and the TSN losers still don't have Simpson in the database to pick for their Fantasy football contest. Argh. I am so looking forward to the NFL this year...
  22. I was laughing at the comments about what a giant jerk to the players Cal Murphy was, and how cheap he was too. Sends Walby to the hospital in a taxi. Classic Cal. Watching the 1990 Grey Cup game again, I was surprised how many players got injured during the game, some pretty badly, and then a few plays later there they were again, all taped up and making tackles and putting their bodies on the line. You just don't see that anymore, and for good reason. Amazing.
  23. Yeah exactly. This is right out of 1984. Just wiping something out of existence and pretending that it never existed. What's next? There's nothing that can't be justified as ban-able anymore.
  24. The reffing was pretty crappy and one-sided against Calgary last night. There were a few calls where I just couldn't figure out what the refs were thinking, and they all seemed to against Calgary.
