  1. I don't think Ted Cruz is worth more than a 5th rounder...
  2. Hopefully this guy is the next Craig Butler...
  3. Yeah none of the 2016 guys are any good. That's what Taman told me anyway. This was a great move.
  4. I think you were wrong...
  5. That's what happens when you go hard.
  6. we'll be picking 9th anyway so it's not that big a deal... But seriously, wow...
  7. watching the live-stream - can't believe I had to sign in to watch it. Good thing Shaw is now on the list of "allowed" providers, geesh....

  9. LOL - at least it is still floating....somewhat....
  10. Down Goes Brown @DownGoesBrown I hope Babcock enjoys his time on that plane, since it's the last time for a while he'll see two wings with Leaf logos doing their job.
  11. "Everything the Bombers do is great" all the complaints stem from the initial tweet that said training camp was closed to the public. It's not about it being in a different location, it's about the surprise news that the public couldn't attend then the scrambling by the club to say "nononononono that's not what we meant! stay tuned!" They coulda had a plan in place to let fans watch well in advance but instead they are in panic mode because they got caught napping on the job. Caught napping....AGAIN....
  12. I've been with Rogers for many years, but only because the only other option at the time was Telus, and I tried them and their network and service sucked even harder than Rogers, if that's possible. I should look at switching again. Anyone who poops on the CFL poops on me. And I don't like being pooped on. You may wish to consider Koodo- we've been with them for 6 years and have had excellent coverage and service when needed. Thanks for the tip. Once the truth is known and it is indeed shown that Rogers is trying to kill the CFL, I am done. No way am I supporting a business that has that kind of attitude. NO WAY.
  13. And his great uncle was a real big composer. A real hit in Germany.
  14. I will be the first to say I didn't understand most of this post, but it could be that I am on my second bottle of Crown as this freaking hockey game doesn't seem to want to end.
  15. Hope that Waggoner doesn't want to go home to Texas to run his great grandpap's ranch... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3087774/America-s-biggest-ranch-larger-LONDON-goes-sale-713million-Texas.html

  17. The fact that there is no crying in baseball ruined it for me.
  18. ya I got your point and I understand.I agree more advanced notice would be good.Do you get my point? Just because an event isn't your thing, why drag it down? This is a huge event for Winnipeg . I'm not comparing sports.I prefer hockey, CFL, NFL, and then soccer. I'm not dragging it down. Others can, but that's their prerogative. To each their own. If this women's soccer thingy puts money in the Bombers' jeans, then great.
  19. oh blech. I don't want to see this board get dragged into which sport is better or more popular. Soccer is popular all over the world because all you need is a ball and a field and away you go. So anyone can play it, unlike hockey, football, ice dancing, you name it. The point some of us were trying to make here is that the Bombers got caught with their pants down yet again, on an issue they had plenty of advance notice about.
  20. He also has a connection to the Bombers. His grandfather played for the Bombers. and his great-great grandfather Honus played shortstop for the Pirates.
  21. If I had made travel plans based on coming to a few days of TC (and I've done it before) I'd be pretty cheesed. I think this just shows that the Bombers aren't very connected with their fanbase. BC can get away with holding training camp in Kamloops because no one in Vancouver cares. Winnipeg is different. People care. The fans are passionate. The Bombers seem to just not get that. Even the media doesn't get it. What would you like them to do? Spend a bunch of money for a couple dozen fans? That's usually the amount of people who aren't Bomber employees or people who are supposedly covering the team for local media at the TC practices I've been to other than the opening full practice which they've made into an event in recent years. Let's apply some logic and rational thinking here. Be happy to. Here's a hypothetical conversation in the Bomber office. It should have occurred early last month and involves two members of the Bomber front office. Let's call the first one Tall Forehead (TF) and the second one Deep Thinker (DT). TF: Hey DF, what should we do about training camp? It's coming up next month and we're not going to be able to use the stadium. We need to tell the fans what's happening so they can do whatever they need too. DT: Yea, I've already made a couple of calls to have bleachers set up at the practice field. Won't be the best but if we get some washroom facilities and maybe call a food vendor or two, we'll be just fine. We won't have to spend much on this but at least no one, except that maybe that 17to85 guy will be able to say we didn't try. TF: Sounds good. You want to do the announcement or should I? DT: Already done. Just sent it to the boss for approval. Hope he appreciates what we're trying to do here. Now, let's see what the actual conversation, which took place no earlier than yesterday probably looked like: TF: Hey DF, what should we do about training camp? It's coming up next week and we're not going to be able to use the stadium. We need to tell the fans what's happening so they can do whatever they need too. DT: **** the fans. They should be bloody grateful that we even let them in the stadium for games. TF: Ya, you're right. I'll get the PR folks do do up a release to remind everyone just how lucky they are. DT: Cool. By the way, how are season ticket sales going? Thanks for the guffaw. It was needed.
  22. I think you missed my point. My point was that we found out what - TODAY? that practice was going to be closed. I guess if I was going to be coming out I should have researched that women's soccer was on so that's on me, but still, the Bombers could have been more proactive here.
  23. That automatically makes it a non-issue, doesn't it? It would definitely be handled internally.
