Drew Tate - now there is a case where "experience" beats a younger less experienced QB. Tate is still on the upswing or even in the prime of his career. Kevin Glenn has been on a downslope since 2012.
-
Or, crazy thought here, you're giving Glenn far too much credit because of personal bias for the player. By this same token then, Brock Ralph is a CFL MOP save for my personal bias against him.
-
So then I really can't figure out how Glenn has lasted this long. Other than people thinking that Kevin Glenn 2015 is still KG 2007, which he isn't.

talent, actually giving a crap about winning, pride....

Yeah it was an ugly-ass win, but one that the Stamps definitely wanted, if for nothing else for Huff's ego to go 16-2 and be considered one of the best teams of all time. Bo Levi played the entire game. Why if it was a "nothing" game? What I took away from that game was that the Bombers played a completely error-free second half with Marve not turning over the ball once. He even had a few really good completions and excellent throws on the run, while Bo Levi looked like a clone of Jason Boltus. Anyway, not saying Marve is the next Tom Clements, but he's got the tools to be one of the most exciting QB I've seen in a Bomber uniform in a long time.

Watching that last game of the season again, Willy was just taking too long to make his reads. He was given the ball on the 5 yard line with 30 seconds left in the first half, dropped back in the pocket and just stood there, until a Stampeder jumped on him and he fumbled. In the third quarter Marve was given the same opportunity with the ball on the 5 and he dropped back and fired a bullet in to Denmark for the TD. Willy has to get rid of the ball faster.

Marve got us our first win in Calgary since Khari Jones. How many games did Glenn actually win for BC last year? I was at the game at BC Place last year and I watched Glenn get hit by Bryant Turner a few times and just crumple and give up. I've seen that movie too many times. No thanks.
-
I know he started for Calgary in 2012 but what was his other Cup appearance? He was injured in 2007...otherwise that game wouldn't have been close. I would take 2007 Glenn every day of the week.
-
What are you basing your Glenn love on? His performance in the BC - Montreal playoff game? Oh wait... Glenn has lost it. Time to go sell doughnuts in Detroit full time.
-
Just re-watched the second half of the Winnipeg-Calgary game - the one in the snow. I'll take Marve, thank you - and 17to85 - I'm not just hot for Marve, I'm Troypod on Marve.

He's the kind of insurance policy where your house burns down and the guy shows up with a tent and says "here's your payment, enjoy". Meh sorry I just don't want to pay a guy to take up a spot in the chance that Willy gets injured and then may actually contribute. And barely at that. I don't say this out of "vitriol" either. Did any of you guys watch that BC playoff game?? Have you all forgotten.

Thank you Marcel.

If this were 2011-12 I would agree with you. 2015 KG not so much.

Evander Kane & Bogo Traded to Buffalo

Petan is very Stu Barnesian to me. -
and then watch as Marve or Portis are picked up by the REDBLACKS and becomes their franchise QB for the next 10 years. I don't want to McManus another kid out of Winnipeg because we want a broken-down vet in their slot instead. If BC doesn't want Glenn then we sure as hell don't want him.

Around the CFL Offseason Discussion

Yeah in the last few games he was taking far too long to make a decision. No o-line can give a QB more than four steamboats on every down. Willy wasn't the same guy in the last 9 games that he was in the first nine weeks. I hope the Drew we knew in July 2014 makes a comeback in 2015. -
Right now my feelings on Giguere are half-way between him being a Brock Ralph twin or a clone of Ben Cahoon. Pretty wide margin. But I wouldn't be offering much more than Kohlert is getting.
-
If we sign Glenn and our Willy wilts, any minutes played by Glenn take away minutes from Portis and Marve. I want to at least see what Portis can do in training camp. I've already seen what Marve can do, and I like it.

I think he's just got Edmonton and Montreal left on his CFL passport...

I thought he just showed up there after his NFL dream died. Calgary always had his rights though, didn't they? EDIT - I stand corrected: Daniel Hubert Federkeil (born November 9, 1983) is a professional Canadian football offensive tackle for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted fifth overall by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2006 CFL Draft, but signed with the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League shortly thereafter. He retired from professional football in 2009 following a series of concussions, but returned to sign with the Stampeders in 2013 after his CFL rights were traded. He played CIS football with the Calgary Dinos. On April 8, 2013, the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League acquired the rights to Federkeil after trading non-import linebacker Akwasi Antwi to the Toronto Argonauts.

Evander Kane & Bogo Traded to Buffalo

There's a few guys who made their names that way - they'd sleep-walk through the season and then wake up in the playoffs. Claude was the best of them. John Druce was another. Bryan Bickell seems to be also heading that way, he seems to get more points in the playoffs then he does during the season. That could also be a function of ice time and power play time as well. -

If he hasn't grown up I'm sure finding his clothes in the shower will turn a light on in his head. -
The Kyle Orton of the CFL? Still better than being the Jay Cutler of the CFL.
-
as we saw by the end of the season last year with Edmonton bringing in Goltz the QB scrapheap gets raided as QB's go down, and Kevie is still king of that scrap-heap.

Kirk Penton @PentonKirk For those who were wondering, the #Bombers have not made an offer for Sam Giguere.
