  1. Brohm is the holder for LH. Wouldn't want to mess with that chemistry.
  2. Burris looked like **** in the game against the Riders.
  3. Back in the day we had Paul Bennett returning punts. He was extremely slow but he did one thing well, and in terms of punt and kick-off returns its the only thing that matters - he never fumbled. As long as Woods holds onto the ball, I really don't give a crap about anything else. If he gets us 10 - 15 yards on the returns here and there, that's just a bonus. Holding on to the ball is all that matters.
  4. I don't take delight either but fans in other cities were sure laughing at us. Like Hamilton. Then the comments that their stadium is nicer than ours?? As it turned out, we didn't have a tenth of the issues Hamilton has had getting the thing built. We just had to wait another year & played at our old barn. While disappointing, it was a good fall back plan. Too bad Garth Buchko had us play the first 4 games of the year on the road & just didn't move everything back into Canad Inns from the start of the season. Going 0-4 on the road killed our season. I think Buchko was the only person who couldn't tell the stadium was a year behind schedule & would never be ready that season. Really? Nicer than Wpgs? Not from the mockup's I've seen Ottawa would have been close if they did both sides (they didn't) so they aren't,and Tim Hortons field looks just like a big high school stadium to me. Wpg's is a thing of beauty - I may be biased but I personally think it's the best stadium in the CFL. I can't wait to see a game there. Having been in both stadiums I have to say that BC Place is nicer than Winnipeg's stadium, but the difference is you get 30,000 screaming people in IGF and it's freaking loud, while in BC Place it still feels like a morgue.
  5. total clusterfuck. I just don't get how this happens.
  6. JFG - gets the job done. One of the best surprises of the 2014 season so far.
  7. Don't worry about it, the only play he focused on was the only good play Hamilton ran in the whole first half.
  8. I didn't want Burris here but I hope he looks at what Winnipeg is doing and pouts every night. Same with Collaros, him especially I think figured he was hopping into a great situation and to have it blow up in his face is just great karma. I think Hank is just counting his money right now and his good fortune that he found someone dumb enough to pay him $400K a season at his age.
  9. I was never one who bought in before on the whole needing more coaches thing, but I sure do now. The big one for me is that we actually have a QB coach. And as Suitor said last night, Buck is also helping to mentor Drew Willy, which is great, because Buck is a great character guy as well as a true professional and someone I'd definitely want mentoring my young guns. The QB's should be getting a lot more help this year than in almost any other year, and that's got to be helping the team big time.
  10. Calgary was 8-10 in 2001 and um, well they made it to the Grey Cup game. I don't remember who their opponent was.
  11. yup four more wins and the cross-over at least should be in the bag. I think realistically with five wins already in the bag that 10 wins total this year is achievable, provided Drew Willy stays upright.
  12. Good point. This is how I felt about JFG after that catch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSr-VWc_7WQ
  13. This is why I think we may lose tonight.
  14. As long as Woods is still returning kicks and punts and it's not another Keystone Kops routine with Cotton and Washington fumbling all over the place.
  15. This guy would look good at left guard...
  16. This was me last year, before games even started. And even then I'd rarely make it to half time...before I changed the channel to the Food Network or Honey Boo-Boo...
  17. There is no such thing as an easy win in the CFL. Sure there is. We used to be the free spot on the Bingo card. You think Hamilton right now is as bad as we were last year? Pretty close to as bad. The Jim Daley Bombers weren't as bad as last years Bombers, The Redblacks aren't as bad as last years Bombers and the ticats certainly aren't anywhere close to as bad as last years Bombers. The only team I can remember being as bad overall from the coach on down to last year's Bomber team was the Argos when Count Chocula was their coach. He was the only coach I think I've seen worse than Burke, and that's saying a lot. I believe that Argo team only won 3 games all year as well.
  18. Looking back at 2011 stats on CFL.CA it appears that BC was getting around 25,000 out for their games at Tempire. Now with BC Place they are getting the same amount of fans coming out, even though BC Place is a much better facility. The problem is that 25,000 fans at Tempire is a noisy fun crowd, 25,000 in BC Place sounds like a morgue. It definitely isn't nearly as fun when the place is over half empty. I still don't know why the government here dumped so much cash into renovating such a large facility that is so under-used by the hipster ******-bags of Vancouver. It's kind of ridiculous.
  19. Do you think WIlly would have done OK here last year? Honest question..... No way he would have done ok here. Not without a change in the coaching staff. He would have been completely wasted.
  20. Danny Mac should have good intel on him too.
  21. That's what I said last year!! Too bad I was wrong 15 times...
  22. Not having a QB was our biggest issue by far. I like how Walters addressed that as soon as possible. There was no way he was getting Willy earlier than he did, Sask wasn't going to trade him away during the season and give up their only insurance. And even if Willy had been brought in during the season, he probably would have gotten killed with that horrible offense we were running. Anyway, onward we go.
