I have found Popp getting lazy the last few years, as they have been bringing in a lot of retreads and old NFL burn-outs rather than recruiting younger guys. I guess every franchise goes through cycles but Montreal definitely seems to be going into a down cycle. Just as we're heading up. Could have dominated the East this year. Oh well.

They can't swim. I'm sure there were a lot who wanted to be there but couldn't and were cheesed they couldn't make it.

Or out of pure hubris, the mistakes aren't admitted and instead we play inferior players instead of those who deserve to be on the field. No GM is perfect. I'm not ecstatic about the mistake but I am happy they are moving on quickly. Let those who have never made an error in judgment cast the first stone.

Hoping for a good game tomorrow with Riders and Ti-Cats. Today 's games were both slop-fests. Of course, I'm spoiled now after watching a real team on Thursday....

I think it's a sign of management integrity if we cut bait on Banks now and just man up and admit it was a bad move. No GM is perfect. Banks just got flat out out-played by younger guys who wanted it more. Maybe he thought he could just show up and be given a job. Who knows. All I know is that with this regime, it appears that the best guys get to play, which is so different from the Mack years when the coaches were forced to play guys just so that the GM didn't look bad. And we know how that went. What I'd like to see is a National DL show up in camp ASAP, and hopefully another National receiver as well. Watson is good but this constant injury thing is getting tiring.

Last week I watched a replay on TSN Classic of a game from 1989 - Winnipeg vs Ottawa. It was eerily similar to last night's game - the Bombers with Sean Salisbury just marched at will down the field and the defence just kept getting the Ottawa offence to turnover the ball. It was 36-3 at one point and the Bombers called a fake punt and got the first down. Up by 33 points and they called a fake on a punt, and executed it to perfection. Last night's game was like a trip back in time to the days of yore in the 1980's when the team had balls and took no prisoners. It's been a long wait.
