  1. You have a really whiny voice... Really...are you serious? No....hence the Smiley face....
  2. You have a really whiny voice...
  3. Or as my grandmother used to say "Ukrainian strong". Of course, we'd always add "Smell doesn't count"....
  4. Listening to the show on the CJOB vault, O'Shea is really polite and knowledgeable. I can't help but think though that he's sitting there thinking "man these people actually care about football in this town" when he's taking questions, good ones at least and not questions from old men and nutbars. I doubt they do anything like this in Toronto but I can imagine what it would be like: "Welcome to the Scott Milanovich call in show. Let's get right to the calls...ok...there's no one yet...oh wait we have "Bluto" on line one...go ahead Bluto, looks like you're going to be our only caller tonight so you've got 55 minutes..."
  5. The Calgary game is locked as I am not a Rogers or Bell subscriber.
  6. how is Peterson still on the team right now is what I want to know. On that play with the Hall INT and almost the entire time Marve was in the O-Line seemed lost in a fog, and Calgary guys were coming off the line unblocked on almost every down. That first play from scrimmage when Marve came in where the Calgary guy had a free shot on Marve and he rolled out and ran past the guy and threw a 20 yard rope to the receiver was a beauty. But with that crappy O-line, even Marve ended up being proved mortal.
  7. As soon as the second half would start up and we'd see Burke giving the thousand yard stare you knew nothing had been adjusted at half time as he was so overwhelmed with the HC job that he couldn't even function mentally. I don't think we'll be seeing that look from O'Shea this year, he's always running around and being active on the sideline - at least he knows what is going on and is actively engaged, instead of just being Droopy Dog.
  8. That's a good point. I see a lot of people thinking that this team is going to be a lot like our 2010 team that seemed to find ways to lose every week, but only by a point or two. The thing to remember about 2010 was that we played a lot of that season without Buck (surprise I know) when Buck was still good. If Buck had stayed healthy that season our record might have looked a lot better, as we wouldn't have had to rely on Stephen Jyles. With a healthy QB all season with similar tools (or better) than Buck this team could surprise. IF Willy stays healthy. As Tburg says, let's hope there is no QB controversy this year as Willy just kicks butt all season and never goes down with an injury.
  9. and how did that work out for us?
  10. Really like his ST play... basically, an upgrade over West. here's another upgrade over West...
  11. That field should have been built three or more years ago. So sad it was held up by a bunch of idiot goofballs. Some people just need to get a life.
  12. And don't complain when Bilikudi and Muamba come back to Canada this year either. Then we go from suck to blow on the ratio.
  13. who's the other one? And if Messam is one of the "best" NI's to come available then the problem is really with the depth of NI talent in this league, as he ain't no great shakes.
  14. Does Popp only scout the progeny of famous NFL receivers? If JR jr makes the team then that's two NFL legends with sons on the Als. A few years ago they had Walter Payton's kid at running back. Does Randy Moss or Michael Irvin have any kids? Marvin Harrison? Come on down to Montreal for a try out!
  15. I hope he names his first kid "Craphonso"...
  16. now imagine the yards he'd get if he had people blocking on top of that!
  17. I like how he has an "L" tattoo on his left arm and an "R" tattoo on his right arm.
  18. "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." -Winston Churchill
  19. Jesse Lumsden come on down! If we are going to look at washed up NI RB's, why stop at Messam? I know Jesse took a bad knock on the head when he was tobogganing in Sochi but that shouldn't be an issue.
  20. I haven't given up hope yet. You can bet that Walters and crew are keeping a constant vigil on what cuts are made on other teams' rosters on the "national" side (sorry, just can't get used to that phrase, it's too dumb). We'll see what shakes out in the next two weeks.
  21. As a guy who has two parents who are teachers, I won't belittle the hard work of dedicated teachers. They deserve to be paid well, they are sculpting the young minds that will one day be taking care of us old guys. Right now, per stats I read, Canadian teachers are the second highest paid in the world. And I am ok with that. What I'm not ok with is teachers striking and using kids as pawns. They argue it's the government that is doing that, but I think both are to blame. Making kids stay home instead of being in school is a tremendously selfish act that I find reprehensible.
  22. I like this one better: Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill With all due respect to Mr. Churchill, presenting either / or scenarios helps no one. I disagree. I think it's a brilliant insight into the philosophy of socialism. True socialists aren't happy until everyone is suffering, and suffering equally. Look at Venezuela. Total basketcase of an economy, all due to socialism killing off all economic incentive to succeed, and also chasing away any and all capital necessary to create a vibrant economy. Kind of like BC in the 1990's.
  23. I sense a repeat of the Paredes fiasco. We keep an average bum and cut a guy who goes on to kick 80% for some other team for the next 12 years. Sigh. I really was hoping we'd keep Maher. He had such an awesome kicking motion and such good distance and accuracy. Not a fan of this move.
  24. I agree with this. As the horrid NDP found out here in BC, you can only go so far campaigning on a "look how bad that guy is" vibe, without supplying any reasons why you'd be any better. The NDP also made some insanely stupid moves during the election too. The leader here, Adrian Dix, decided half way through the campaign that he was going to cancel a multi-billion dollar pipeline project, sight unseen, and that was enough to make everyone realize that while the BC Liberals were old and stale and ridden with scandals, they were still better than the job-killing tax and spend radical leftist bonehead NDP. Thank goodness for that. The headline summed it up "Dix sunk by flaccid campaign". Hee hee... Pallister has to start being positive and talking about all of the things he's going to do if elected, not just focus on how bad the other guy is. People usually prefer the devil they know, unless convinced that you are a better option.
