  1. He's going to need it as the stumble-bum paramedics couldn't even lift him into the ambulance properly. I don't know what was harder to watch, the replay of his ankle snapping or the Keystone Kops routine trying to load him into the ambulance.
  2. You have to understand the context though. The judge didn't rule that the government's negotiation tactics were unconstitutional, they ruled that the government stripping out of the clause that the BCTF gets to negotiate class size and composition was unconstitutional. I am not going to say the BC government is perfect here or totally in the right, but the BCTF never should have been given the right to bargain class size and composition. It's not the union's right to determine their work environment, that's the employer's right. The BCTF were given this gift by a bought and paid for pro-union NDP government in a closed-door meeting back in the late 1990's. It's morally reprehensible that this happened. And so the BC Liberals, when they took over in a landslide, just said that they refused to honour such a terrible piece of garbage legislation. If the NDP had allowed teachers the right to beat kids with tire irons, and the Liberals said "no" we are not allowing this anymore, a judge could still say that it is "unconstitutional" to strip out this right from agreements, but it doesn't mean that the public isn't in full support of taking away that right, and that it is morally improper that they had it in the first place. The BC government can't just reverse this putrid legislation as it was theoretically "bargained for", even though it was actually handed over on a silver platter in fact. And so they just refuse to honour it, and the BCTF keeps running off to judges who they know will rule in their favour. You can't totally say that the BCTF has been "yanked around", their salary demands, which everyone knows is the real issue, even though the BCTF keeps saying their strike is "for the kids", are completely insane and over the top, and way in excess of what other unions have asked for and received. If the teachers would move a bit on their salary demands, there might be room to move on class size and composition. I don't see anything happening until the fall, and this school year essentially just ending early, as all of my nieces and nephews have cleaned out their desks already and have been told by their teachers to enjoy the summer. The teachers here aren't even getting much support from their local fellow unionists. One CUPE guy, who of course had to remain anonymous, had this to say:
  3. cutting his hair made him mortal....
  4. Andre the Giant (beat Nate to it) could have been good if he had stayed healthy. 2011 our O-Line wasn't too bad, especially with Labatte in there. We just needed a center.
  5. So he had to play tackle and guard at the same time.
  6. If Neufeld can hold his own at RT then this could be a good thing. Dan Knapp seems to have won the RG position purely because of his physical awesomeness? And because he's such an upgrade over Morley? Not sure why else we'd start an import at that position in the future, unless we have that kind of roster flexibility. Physical awesomeness? HAIR AWESOMENESS!!!
  7. I had similar thoughts as well. Goosen did not look out of place.
  8. I haven't been blown away by Volny and his fumblitis never seems to get cured. I hope Walters is actively searching for an NI running back.
  9. I also saw that Brohm had Pencer "blocking" in front of him during a lot of his series, so it was "hike" and he'd have an Argo in his face about a half second later as Pencer just whiffed air as the guy ran by him. I am willing to give Brohm another shot, as it appears that they've committed to starting a lot of the A team on the O line for this game. I guess the theory of only bringing rookies for our second pre-season game so that we get blown out 70 - 0 was a short-lived one. That being said, it is Calgary so it could still be ugly.
  10. Speaking of Poblah, is he hurt again? I don't see him on the depth chart for the game tonight? http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/bc/downloads/downloads/2014/06/bc-lions-depth-chart-june-202014065120.pdf EDIT - I guess he's just sitting this game out...
  11. Prop the security guard up in the seat next to you and make it look like you guys are in deep conversation....
  12. IIRC Poblah also got hurt in the first game of the season and we didn't get him back again until the LDC, where he did ok but then he was never utilized properly. 2012 was supposed to be his big breakout year but he got hurt again. Last year he was just invisible, other than some notable drops - I still remember that Hamilton game where he was wide open by 20 yards, Hall put it right in his breadbasket and he Kamau'd it. I do wish him well though, and hope he can carve out a career in BC.
  13. That's because the Bombers always get raped in Calgary.
  14. I agree with JJ. Can't wait to watch the first REDBLACKS game and watch him get torched on every deep ball.
  15. Yup. and make sure you dont sit in the end zone. You will be quickly escorted over to the assigned seating area. Let us know how Hall and Willy look today. Just to be clear, there isn't a practice today. They're travelling. Thanks for ruining it Mike.
  16. Let's see how long Buck Tate lasts this year.
  17. I don't see Alexander - is he hurt too? On the bubble?
  18. Exactly. Our Canadian talent isn't THAT bad. Last year our Canadian talent was Justin Bieber level. This year I hope we hit at least Michael Buble level. After another two decent drafts - Jim Carrey. Wait, what?!?! You had me up until Jim Carrey. At first I was thinking you were going with singer levels, then you added in Jim and just threw me off. You could have said like, Shakira or Rhianna. Shakira and Rhianna are Canadians? I don't think you are smelling what I was stepping in there. OOOOHHH, I see where you're going with this. Dude...Tom Cochrane Tommy Hunter - that's three drafts away.
  19. January, Greaves, Morley, Knapp, Jones, Neufeld, Goossen. That's 7. Who comes off this list on game day? We need a guy that can play tackle or guard so given the ratio I'm guessing Jones comes off. Also I don't see Stevenson on the chart, does this mean he's as good as cut? Or am I just not seeing him? Where's Julian F-G? EDIT - just saw that he's injured. Too bad, wanted to see more.

  21. He's that freakin' good. Watson better watch his back.

  24. That being said, if he lights it up with BC this year I'm going to be extremely choked.
