  1. I liked his response to whoever the clown was that kept persisting on the "what keeps you up at night?" question. That guy was pretty douchey.
  2. Probably on the coaching staff with where-ever Crowton ended up, or on the staff at BYU. The Mormon mafia will take care of him.
  3. Good points. Best job of management was filling the stable with quarterbacks that can play. Something we haven't had in a long time. Our "young guns" are going to be fun to watch, if they can actually get some blocking. And that's why we have Wylie. I also liked how they cleared out a lot of Mack deadwood this year. Pencer, Poblah, Etienne, Hall, Kowalchuk - all replaced with better guys.
  4. I wasn't impressed with his effort level in the Calgary game. He looked like he thought he had already made the team. Oh well, he's an arena football star, he'll be ok.
  5. just glad that they kept Marve. I'd be sad if he was released, then picked up by Montreal, and now he's their QB for the next 15 years, leading them to 4 Cups and 12 first place finishes...while we continue to toil away in futility...
  6. I already did that joke.
  7. Why should Friday be any different from every other day? My point is that it would be easier being hungover on a Saturday when your not at work. Yeah and my point is that when you are showing up for work with a hangover every day, Friday doesn't really matter.
  8. If I lived in Manitoba within an hour drive of Winnipeg I'd have season tickets. It wouldn't even be a question.
  9. Why should Friday be any different from every other day?
  10. Bryant Turner would throw a tire through three footballs.
  11. I hear you. I wanted to get a Shawarma Khan but gave up as the line was far too long.
  12. I noticed that Edmonton cut Shea Pierre. I think he's worth a look but only because he's got such a cool name.
  13. You may be right, but I wouldn't be basing it on that stinker of a pre-season game they just played. Out right putrid.
  14. The problem with Bryant Turner at fullback is that the only person who could stop him on D would be Bryant Turner. Therefore Cohon just announced that all goal line stands the Bombers engage in this year will be automatically deemed a TD in the interests of saving time. If the Winnipeg RB is stopped on the one yard line, the ref will simply pick up the ball and walk it across the goal line, and signal touchdown. Approval of this rule change was unanimous.
  15. 680 CJOB Sports @CJOBSports #Bombers DL Bryant Turner lining up at FB on goal line offence #TheFridge #DaBears
  16. ehhhhhhhh I dunno. Any extra job security Stephan got from Newman's injury has now been removed. The team needs lots of these types of players during the year. Stephan is still competing with Eisho for a job. If Cornell is still a gamer and Briggs' injury is soon resolved, then the numbers will start to work against him. Or Eisho. Unlikely they cut both. Stephan will be hurt in the first half of the first game and be gone for the year. So it really doesn't matter.
  17. Practice...I think Hall lost it based on Brohm showing something decent in his second preseason game. He didn't show any better than Hall in that game though, and he was clearly worse in game 1 as well. Difference is simply that Hall made the mistake with the int in Calgary. I honestly don't know where you are getting this idea that Brohm was showing much. Willy in that game was so far ahead of the other 3 it wasn't even funny. . Willy actually had an Oline blocking for him. I'd like to see Marve with the starting OL instead of the pylons he had in Calgary.
  18. You have a really whiny voice... Really...are you serious? No....hence the Smiley face....
  19. You have a really whiny voice...
  20. Or as my grandmother used to say "Ukrainian strong". Of course, we'd always add "Smell doesn't count"....
  21. Listening to the show on the CJOB vault, O'Shea is really polite and knowledgeable. I can't help but think though that he's sitting there thinking "man these people actually care about football in this town" when he's taking questions, good ones at least and not questions from old men and nutbars. I doubt they do anything like this in Toronto but I can imagine what it would be like: "Welcome to the Scott Milanovich call in show. Let's get right to the calls...ok...there's no one yet...oh wait we have "Bluto" on line one...go ahead Bluto, looks like you're going to be our only caller tonight so you've got 55 minutes..."
  22. The Calgary game is locked as I am not a Rogers or Bell subscriber.
  23. how is Peterson still on the team right now is what I want to know. On that play with the Hall INT and almost the entire time Marve was in the O-Line seemed lost in a fog, and Calgary guys were coming off the line unblocked on almost every down. That first play from scrimmage when Marve came in where the Calgary guy had a free shot on Marve and he rolled out and ran past the guy and threw a 20 yard rope to the receiver was a beauty. But with that crappy O-line, even Marve ended up being proved mortal.
  24. As soon as the second half would start up and we'd see Burke giving the thousand yard stare you knew nothing had been adjusted at half time as he was so overwhelmed with the HC job that he couldn't even function mentally. I don't think we'll be seeing that look from O'Shea this year, he's always running around and being active on the sideline - at least he knows what is going on and is actively engaged, instead of just being Droopy Dog.
  25. That's a good point. I see a lot of people thinking that this team is going to be a lot like our 2010 team that seemed to find ways to lose every week, but only by a point or two. The thing to remember about 2010 was that we played a lot of that season without Buck (surprise I know) when Buck was still good. If Buck had stayed healthy that season our record might have looked a lot better, as we wouldn't have had to rely on Stephen Jyles. With a healthy QB all season with similar tools (or better) than Buck this team could surprise. IF Willy stays healthy. As Tburg says, let's hope there is no QB controversy this year as Willy just kicks butt all season and never goes down with an injury.
