  1. I think it's because we can find other NI receivers who are better than those two. And paid a lot less. When I think that we could have had Ted Laurent instead of Poblah I just get angry.
  2. Kris Robertson better be healed up then. Any word on if Stephen Alli is coming up for camp? Or is that just another Mack write-off pick?
  3. So with losing Henoc then what do we do for NI starting positions? 3 on the OL, we only have the depth to start 2 at WR/SB, and then safety....so....DL? Ted Laurent, please come here!!
  4. Yeah props to that all right. I don't get Sun TV as I would have to pay extra to get it, but I do watch their stories online if I want some balance to what the CBC is saying. It's funny what gets left out by the mainstream media that Sun and Fox actually report. I watched the old news feeds from Sept 11 again online on some website that had collected and stored them all - the CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox feeds, so I watched how every network reported 9/11 from the first minute that the news of the first plane hitting the WTC happened. CBS, NBC and ABC all stated right away "We don't want to jump to any conclusions as to the cause of this crash" while the Fox News guy said immediately as the footage of the first tower burning was being shown "There is no doubt that this is a terrorist attack, probably perpetrated by Islamic terrorists".
  5. LOL. By that logic then if you don't watch Fox News then you are not very enlightened, because you won't watch something that is hopelessly biased and deliberately full of errors to try and manipulate your emotions and thoughts. I don't watch stuff where I know there is an agenda to manipulate me to think a certain way based on selective information being offered. That's the same reason I don't watch a lot of things, as they will just make me angry at how gullible they think I am, and I have better things to do, like watch football. As Mark says, there are a lot of humane killing plants now, but of course, these documentaries have an agenda, and so therefore they are only going to show the worst stuff, with a goal to making me feel bad about eating meat. What's the point? It's not going to work. I am not an urbanite dweller, I grew up on a farm where we always treated our animals humanely and know a lot of things about where food comes from and how it's grown, I've visited killing plants and I don't feel guilty about eating meat, not one bit. And shame on those that try to make me feel guilty. Not really. No you are not. And shame on those who tell you that you are. If you are eating meat that was grown and processed in Canada, then you are, as Mark said. You can eat chicken guilt-free, that's for sure.
  6. So my solution is to just not watch documentaries made by people with an anti-meat agenda. Does horrible stuff go on in the world against animals every day? Yup. Does horrible stuff go on in the world every day against humans? Yup. Both are terrible things that shouldn't happen.
  7. Keep heading east until you get to Niagara Falls and get married
  8. Desjardins would probably want all of our starting CDNs for the one pick. We have starting Canadians?
  9. More on the blood type thing, if anyone cares: http://veg.ca/2005/11/11/the-blood-type-diet/
  10. I like meat because I find it tastes incredibly good. Nothing better than a really nice rib-eye with some decent Cab Sav. That's living, I tell's ya. I don't think I could survive in a meat-less world actually, it would be a hardship too much to bear. But that's just me. Mr. "O Positive". Paul McCartney started a phrase that I hear a lot of PETA people use "one visit to a slaughterhouse will make you a vegetarian for life". Ha - I'm living proof that that stupid phrase isn't true.
  11. 100% agree. There is no reason in this day and age for any animal raised for slaughter to suffer. I watched a good movie called "Temple Grandin", the true story of an autistic woman named Temple Grandin who revolutionized the way cows are slaughtered at killing plants. She had a special ability to think like a cow, and redesigned the entire process to limit suffering and anxiety of cattle to almost zero. Great movie, well worth watching. Speaking of books and theories, another theory I've read a bit about is blood type. This is all just speculation but a large percentage of the world is "O positive". I'm "O Positive". Someone told me that O Positive people's ancestors were the hunter/gatherer types, and so those with this blood type are meat eaters, and their bodies are more conducive to digesting meat. Other blood types like type A and B are related to ancient tribes who farmed and lived on vegetables, which is why they are more suited to a vegetarian diet, as their ancestors pre-programed them for it. I know this is probably all bunk, but who knows. I know I love meat, and I'm O Positive. I don't digest wheats or bread very well. That proves nothing, but it is an interesting theory to consider.
  12. I know one thing is true, one hundred years from now humans will look back at us, all of us I am certain, and be amazed at the food we eat today and how little we really knew about it, even with thousands of years of anecdotal evidence. Just like we look at the Romans now and know why a lot of their leaders were nuts, they were drinking water piped in with lead pipes, and were ingesting huge quantities of lead, which fried their brains.
  13. I grew up drinking milk straight from the cow, and it definitely tasted better than what is sold in stores, that's for sure. We'd have friends visit us from Calgary, and they'd bring store-bought milk because they hated the taste of our straight from the cow stuff. It was also extremely rich, as we just skimmed off the cream, so it was probably like drinking homo milk x 2.
  14. Well then we should get the vegan douchebags I know together with the anti-vegan douchebags and perhaps we can find a way to bridge the gap to peace and understanding. It's the whole "meat is murder" crowd that bugs me to no end. Unfortunately, my 18 year old niece has been radicalized by some loser teacher of hers, and now every family gathering we have to listen to why we are such terrible people for cutting into a turkey or a ham. On Christmas morning, as I'm enjoying a delicious pile of bacon, she proceeded to tell me that the pig I am eating had a family too, and that I should be ashamed for eating him. I asked her who filled her head with this garbage, and that's where I found out about her nutty teacher. So I told her that I grew up on a hog farm in Niverville so I knew a thing or two about pigs, and how if we didn't separate the piglets from the sow and the sire boar there was about a 95% chance that that pig would have been devoured by its own family in its first two days of life. Apparently her teacher hadn't told her that part of the pig story, instead kids are taught that animals are basically humans and their existence is similar to a Disney movie, and since most of them will never visit a barn or farm in their lives, they just eat it up, pun intended. Anyway, after being laughed at a lot, by everyone, the niece has toned down the anti-meat nuttiness a bit, thank goodness.

  16. what a ridiculous argument.... how many other animals have the means to actually pull that off? raccoons would drink rabbit milk if they could, raccoons are sneaky.
  17. I think I doubt this, a lot in fact.
  18. Yup. It is showing tremendously. That's because almost every Vegan I've ever met has been a massive entitled douchebag, who thinks that everything has to be catered to their weird eating habits. I know that's "sterotyping" but such is life. There are no doubt lots of good Veganites out there who aren't entitled douchebags, but unfortunately I've just met a lot of bad ones. I hope you were looking in the mirror when you typed that. Hope you do too! What I really object to with the whole Vegan thing is that I always see veganites and PETA type nutbars crying about how animals shouldn't be farmed or eaten etc. They want to impose their will and their messed up belief system on the rest of us. I guess I'm just a bit worried one day, in the name of "tolerance" or whatever, this actually happens, and suddenly the rest of us are forced into eating their crappy food. I don't care what you eat, and if it makes you feel better, great. Just stop telling me how to live all right? That Paul McCartney has to be one of the most obnoxious ones out there - before a concert he forces everyone on his crew to go off meat. What a pretentious ******! Anyway - sorry if I ruffled some feathers. If there are some good vegans out there (and you guys are among them) I really would like to meet you in order to get some balance. I also think being in BC is another issue, there just are so many hippy idiots out here it's tough to distinguish between them all.
  19. Excellent post Mark. That's why the perfect target market for the organic food industry are urbanites who have no clue about how farming is conducted, or about what happens if you don't spray for bugs/worms/weeds. You end up with no crop. I try and explain that to people, but if they've never spent time on a farm or gone through a growing season they just can't understand it. Such is life.
  20. LOL - every time I post that story on an internet forum, some angry Vegan bozo responds with crap like this. So you are saying that pale skinny vegan kid who had no energy was just a figment of my buddy's imagination? What a joke. Hey, I am sure there are healthy vegan people somewhere, and even healthy vegan kids, but the adults have to be very careful to ensure those growing kids still get all of the nutrients they need, and I'm sorry but eating a few carrots and a hamburger bun isn't going to do it for a 12 year old boy. They need a lot of calories and protein. And if you don't know what you are doing, and just following some kind of stupid fad to sound cool to your fellow Vegan pals and Yuppie buds then you need to actually do the work so you don't hurt your kids and stunt their growth. That's all I am saying.
  21. LOL this reminded me of a story a friend of mine told me about how his 12 year old son had a bunch of his friends over for his birthday party. My friend was at the barbecue all afternoon grilling up tons of burgers and hotdogs as of course 12 year old boys can eat constantly, when this little pale kid comes up to him and asks him just for a hamburger bun and some carrots. Apparently his parents were forcing him to be a "vegan" and he couldn't eat any meat. My friend said this kid had no energy, and could barely play with the other boys. He looked pale and so unhealthy. I get it if you believe in this organic thing and want to waste your money on it, but turning your poor kids into vegans is just plain wrong.
  22. One thing you have to look for with organic food is ecoli bacteria, a real issue with organic food. Over 50 "organic" eaters in Germany either died or were forever disabled by ecoli bacteria they ate with organic food (bean sprouts) back in 2011. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Germany_E._coli_O104:H4_outbreak I'm not sure if washing the food first helps with ecoli, the Wikipedia write-up isn't very clear.
  23. I won't argue about watching what you eat and making sure that you eat stuff you aren't allergic too. Food allergies are a big thing and a lot of people aren't even aware that they are eating food they are allergic to. Then they change their diets and they feel a lot better. Makes total sense. So eating healthy and eating vegetables - awesome. Paying three times as much for basically the same food - your choice, but that just tells me you have too much money.
