  1. yes, he definitely dethroned Alex Brink last year.
  2. I like Reilly's fight and his intensity. He also seems to be a leader on the field and has a lot of tools. If Hervey cut him in favour of Burris I'd hope that Walters would be on the next flight to Washington State to pay the Reilly family a visit.
  3. Yup given the huge investment of time and money, it would be nice to see the Bombers finally get a return. Right now he's like an investment in a wind farm, lots of dough spent but very little power generated.
  4. And his biggest liabilities are his tendencies to commit giant brain-farts at the worst possible times and also to crumple into a ball and disappear once the outdoor temps go under +5c. Maybe that's why he doesn't want to rush into signing in Winnipeg, because he knows he'll have at least 3 cold weather home games?
  5. You can console yourself that we have two picks in the 6th round, one of which came from Edmonton for Merrill Johnson.
  6. Geroy went for an import receiver with man boobs, cut in training camp by the Lions, and a 3rd rounder. Banks is probably worth a 4th or 5th rounder. If we think Poblah is worth the same or less, it's a good trade for us. Clearly BC sees something in Poblah, otherwise they would have just taken a pick, which would cost them much less. Hey - man boobs can be a big plus for a receiver, gives you an extra layer of cushioning when you are catching balls in your chest area.
  7. This off-season just gets more and more underwhelming. These two guys are probably the absolute lowest priority signings we have. So you'd prefer we didn't sign them at all? Or just sign them and not announce it? I don't get the negative spin on this. It just "is".
  8. That's a good article. I remember the 1980's when Lunsford would break the bank signing Dieter Brock and almost every year the guy wouldn't show up at training camp and would demand more money. Then when he did show up we would run into the immovable object that was the Edmonton Eskimos and lose anyway. I am for giving Hank a fair deal, but if he wants to play games and demand more than he is worth then he can go sling pigskins in Ottawa or Edmonton for all I care, and pull his Frank routine the first time he sees a snowflake.
  9. I think that is the 100th variation of that Joke I have seen now. Awesome!
  10. Too bad we didn't pay him per fumble, we'd have freed up several million.
  11. You're right. His contain work on punt cover could be worth a couple wins on its own. Now we're up to 10 wins. Add in the contribs this year from Jade having a break out season and we could go undefeated.
  12. ah the **** jokes just never get old...
  13. Then it is carried half a yard, and is fumbled.
  14. Jessuz, really. I sure hope not. 8 wins would be a tremendous season for us. More realistically, I think we win 5-6, regardless of whether QB is Burris, Hall or Willy. All of them are the worst QB in our division by a long shot, at least Willy and Hall still have room to improve. We won 1 game against the West last season. Burris won 2. Coaching should be better, but we're also inexperienced and moving to a division with the 3 best teams in the league. Unless we sweep the East, it's hard seeing this team being anywhere close to .500. I think you are underestimating the acquisition of Matt Bucknor.
  15. You seem like a fun guy. JBR does grow on you after awhile.
  16. I am not used to believing stuff like that.
  17. I think the Bomber receivers just got excited - finally a QB! We could see the rejuvenation of Terrence Edwards, if he can stay healthy.
  18. I think this is the motto on the Winnipeg city coat of arms, only it's in Latin.
  19. Might cost us Pontbriand though...
  20. so does this mean that Jovan is gone?
  21. the key to our success this year will be making sure that our Willy is adequately protected. Ironically he was getting good protection from Labatte in Saskatchewan, who didn't seem to use protection.
  22. I was at that game. He was wide open by about 30 yards. The crowd was already celebrating as Hall floated in a perfect ball. And he Brock Ralphed it.
