  1. ^^^^ Tony Bennett sounds like a good pick. Good job Kyle!
  2. it started by allowing that lunatic Chris Jones back into the fold. Imagine if that idiot was brought in to replace the Canadian mafia? IGF would become a ghost town too. The team before Jones was a dumpster fire too. Edmonton has been stepping on rakes now for too long.
  3. perhaps they could go with a community model like the Bombers, rather than having an owner?
  4. More like getting a road map and an apple...lol...
  5. Good to see so many names from teams past on that roster. In the old dark times of yore, we'd see such a high turnover as players couldn't wait to get out of Winnipeg and on with someone else. Now they all want to stay, year after year. So awesome!
  6. There's a dude I would never want to mess with....
  7. looks like he was in Winnipeg for a cup of coffee in 1995. Shawn Moore - Wikipedia
  8. and now they'll have a "connection" coming out of camp that will work during the regular season. I'm calling it - this year when our third-stringer calls an audible in the GC he can complete the pass to a wide open Osh Jr....and much rejoicing will result.
  9. I personally think if we had had Darvin last year in the GC he might have made the difference and woken some of those guys out of their slumber. That guy definitely has the FIFO mentality.
  10. Maybe MOS wants to groom his son to be a coach, so this way he gets to see the inside of a CFL training camp from a players' perspective. I'm all for keeping the OShea bloodline in the Bombers organization if it means years ahead of tough competitive teams who play for each other and want to run through walls for their coach and their team.
  11. T-Birds knock off the Blazers so the Ice now have to earn their way to the Memorial Cup.

  13. yup he sure lit it up here in Kelowna. I wish that young man all the best! Unfortunately it probably will be tougher for him than it would be for everyone else as this is going to look like a Kevin Feterik situation unless he can show that he deserves to be on the roster with his stellar play. Good luck!
  14. Man we used to love going to the all you could eat deep fried shrimp days on weekends. The servers would just walk around with baskets of deep fried shrimp and we would just have them dump out the baskets onto our plates. But we had to make sure we left room for the all you could eat soft serve ice cream. Never be a place like that again.
  15. yeah the only difference was that Lunsford just hung out at Bonanza on Pembina for the all you eat salad bar and soft serve ice cream as Subway hadn't been invented yet. and they already have won us a cup, so we know they can do it. I'm comfortable if they want to be the new Cameron/Kennerd 2.0, just keep bringing home the hardware boys.
  16. I watched that Trouba hit happen and you could see it coming. It was textbook for getting smoked. Don Cherry used to call it "getting caught in the trolley tracks". Player carrying the puck over the blue line cuts left or right, has his attention on the puck, and the d-man steps up and just smokes him. Happened to Doug Gilmour in the 1993 playoffs: I hate seeing guys hurt, especially if it's a brain injury. The NHL has to cut this out of the game. Too many hockey players I know are now affected for life due to multiple concussions suffered by hits that probably didn't need to happen, but were considered "legal".

  19. I think that he's right. "If You Could Read My Mind" is one of the most perfect songs ever written.
  20. What an amazing album. I remember growing up listening to that album, many many times. I followed your lead and am giving it another listen now...and that's when I remembered that it was Gord that wrote and first performed the song "Ribbon of Darkness Over Me" which of course has always been credited to Marty Robbins. Not so. Gord you are truly a Canadian gem that touched so many lives. RIP old friend.
  21. One of the most "beautiful" songs ever written, in my extremely biased opinion.... Many a time I've had to listen to Gord's soothing words to calm me down after a Bomber or Jets loss....
