Nice to see durant and waud on that list
-
I agree.... I like them better than Darvin Adams
-
Redblacks have a pretty crazy rec. corps now.
-
I projected him to start at RG, but he'll have to battle Goossen for that spot. What I mean is that he's actually played RT in Sask and when he came in, it seemed like he was a 'ratio changer' we had been looking for... I agree that he looked a lot better at Tackle when he was with the Riders... definitely more of a finesse Technique guy rather than a brawler at OG. Wasn't impressed with his push against the DT's and found him lacking
-
I disagree we lack the depth if we draft one of those guys. We could easily just plug an NI elsewhere and back the third ni rec. up with an american. I do agree about JFG
-
Can't see any draft picks stepping in this season and starting right away and making a difference. Could easily see a top ranked receiver or defensive lineman stepping in and playing right away. Any players good enough to step in and play right away are the same players that will attract NFL interest. And I doubt any receiver will be good enough that we're switching our ratio and only playing two imports. If he's that good, that just means JFG is back on the sidelines. OK well you're the expert I guess. Thank you. But I'd hardly consider myself an expert. I just took your idea to the next logical step and made 3 points that seem reasonable. Darryl Waud good enough to start right away? Sure, it's possible. And that's why there has already been reports of NFL interest in him. Demski/Durant so good that they start right away? Sure, it's possible. Would that mean the Bombers change their ratio on the offensive side, starting Demski/Kohlert/KFG and two imports? Or would they instead just promote the new guy ahead of JFG and still start three imports? I'd say the latter is much more likely than the former. So the ratio remains unchanged. I could see us going 3 NI's at receiver if we draft Durant/Demski provided they are quick and fast enough to stretch the field. Our current 3rd import receiver certainly isn't going to be a household name that we NEED to keep on the field....

Hurl's speed may make him better suited to be an outside linebacker, and if Muamba returns, we're all set for years. Sorry to burst you bubble. No guarantee that we will get Henoc on the fold when he returns to the CFL (If ever that happens). We dont hold his rights anymore, he will be a free agent. ya, but he loves it here, He'll come back... Besides, Walters as adamant that he would at least match the highest offer, no matter the cost
-
Hurl's speed may make him better suited to be an outside linebacker, and if Muamba returns, we're all set for years. Hurl is not fast enough to be OLB in my mind, nor is he good enough in coverage... I think a guy like Briggs is much better suited to WLB in the future
-
Hurl has ideal size and quickness for a MLB.... We've also assembled quite the defensive coaching staff.... I'm cautiously optimistic about Hurl doing decent his first year and growing from there. I'd rather Muamba get cut and come back though!
-
I wouldnt mind taking a look at Adebayo there Floyd. Lee would be a big upgrade on Richardson as well. Richardson really struck me as a big time hot head last year
-
Definitely agree that outside of Bucknor, our Canadians leave a lot to be desired... it's very possible hurl can come in here and really impress... but he's definitely more of a question mark... Thomas leaves A LOT to be desired when talking about him as a Canadian starter Newman may have decent potential as a safety, but we have Leggett there... I have no idea how Newman will do as a WLB. At least this year we will be able to start 3 Canadians on the OL consistently. .. but I'm still very concerned about the Canadians on the interior. Greaves had a bad year last year.. Picard is over rated and Newman hasn't shown he is anything more than an avg OG at best

Very good read
-
I've been wanting to do that for a while... but haven't had the time, so thanks for that

We should go get Peters then if we're out on Curran. Peters/Newman Hurl/Benty would be a neat little package for our second NI starter

New Impact Players This Year: Our Scouting System
James replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think we've unearthed some potential studs last season. Cotton Booker and Fraser are all candidates IMO. A more of a reach could be a guy like Jerrell Jackson who looked good in limited opportunity last year. Even Milt took a couple years before he really started dominating -
Can Hurl play WILL that well? I definitely see him as more of a MLB
-
I think Jerrel Jackson will beat out Darvin Adams next year
-
I could see Cotton getting over 1300 rushing next year. I think the guys gonna be real good!
-
Oh, poop. I have hoped.... That is going to be one hell of a defensive front
-
Run game was fine when a good running back was used. Every OL in the CFL can run block. The ability to actually run the ball with a back who can put the offense in 2nd and 5 or less consistently will be a bigger upgrade than any made on the offensive line. On the whole, Bryant will be an upgrade, the rest depends on guys picking up their game, Greaves and Neufeld specifically. Goossen is a wildcard. Picard for Morley is a wash, Picard's snapping and calls should be more refined given he's spent his whole life playing centre, but he can't block anybody 1 on 1. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they end up in the top half of the league in terms of protecting the QB. Yep, I for one, am still worried about the interior.
-
My guess is Ivan Brown has already replaced Louie Richardson. Thats what I was thinking as well. However I would still like to pick up Lee to ensure we get Pall off the roster as well... I'm pretty sure he's our slowest D-lineman.... There are actually OL faster than that guy
-
It has leterally always been this way with Glenn, and its so incredibly irrational.
-
Hickman sticking with the Cats... That's going to be one hell of a D-Line

Bombers sign LB Hurl, WR Adams, OL Bryant & Dile, DL Brown
James replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Can anyone here provide valuable intel on Dile and Brown? I know nothing about these guys... I understand Dile started dome games, but is he any good? -
You guys really think we're going to sign upwards of 5 players? That would be pretty exciting I guess
